The best part of eating here is watching the chef use the tandoori oven. It's like watching IRON CHEF LIVE while eating all of that great food. I was there on a busy Saturday night the place was packed and the guy was non-stop action: cut, skewer, grill, flip, marinade, cut, serve!!! He was doing like 20 naan breads, 20 whole chickens, 20 kebabs, and about 5 whole fishes every ten minutes. The food was great and the guy caught on that we were watching him closely so he sent our group a special bread that he made with nuts, honey and dried fruit. Then he started making goofball gestures through the window Benihana style pointing his skewers at us and kicking up the action - it was a great experience eating Indian food. The service was really good too they never let our glasses run dry and we even got a free round of ice cold mango schnapps shooters at the end of the dinner. I live on the UES but will def. be back at Mughlai more often.
Pros: Get a seat with a view of the tandoor, order grilled meats and fish
Cons: ONLY red meat is Lamb, no beef
