I wish I would have seen these reviews before taking my best friend to moonbrook. It is 100% true that all they want is money. Dr. Rappole killed my dog at his dental clinic during a routine cleaning. I was and still am devastated. I found out from another vet later that he used the wrong meds and messed up taking out the breathing tube. Yet moonbrook has been harassing me for months over a\r $250 dollar bill that I refuse to pay. Every time I hear from them, I just think about holding my dogs lifeless body and crying. They are so uncaring about how traumatic this was for me and I don't get why they don't get why I won't pay them for killing my dog. Plus they push that dental clinic when it Is just a danger! I regret ever taking him there. If I didn't, I would have him here with me today and many years to come. Save yourself the heartache and money and go elsewhere. more

$ is more important than care 9/28/2012

We found MoonBrook due to an emergency. Our's dogs stomach twisted which we found was called (Gastric Dilation/Volvulus-bloat,gastric torsion) We were on Vacation at Chataqua Lake when our 3 year old dog (Jaxon) was sick and taken to MoonBrook for treatment. It sounded to simple with a fairly quick diagnosis. He needs Emergency surgery. What do we have to do? Put $500 down, sign here & we will call the Doc. This is fairly common in large animals,we see it quite often. Does this have to be done now? Yes , if not he would die shortly. We were given a guestimate of an adittional charge & were told they would call us after surgery with an update. 8:30 PM we received a call stating that the surgery went well even though there were complications. We were called the following morning at 11AM & were told to come pick up Jaxon,He is ready to go. OUR QUESTION WAS WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO NOW? Very exspensive & no compassion for the animal. 6/27/2012

I only went to Moonbrook because it was an emergency. My regular Vet was not in and her receptionist sent me to Moonbrook. All they care about is money there. My senior cat had developed a life threatening illness and in the end they told me to take him back to my Vet. Don't ever mention you live on a fixed income if you go there. I took him to my vet who was on duty a couple hours later. I had to have my cat put to sleep. Moonbrook's first concern is the $$$. more

I stumbled upon this site by accident, but while here, I thought I should let you know what I thought of Moonbrook Veterinary Hospital. Although I ended up taking my cat to another Vet, it was not due to anything I encountered at Moonbrook. I found the hospital to be expensive, but you do receive quality care. The office is very clean and organized. The staff is VERY friendly and they sincerely care about your pet. They do not hesitate to spend time with you on the phone or if you stop in for information or instructions, you can speak with the doctors directly if they are treating your pet, and they do not charge for this additional care. I would recommend them to anyone in search of a vet. more

Wont go back 6/4/2009

I was rushed out of there the first time I went. The diagnosis of worms was wrong, but Dr. Rapple didn't ask many questions he just gave my cat antibiotics and sent me on my way. The whole thing was VERY EXPENSIVE.I don't know why I brought my second cat there. I called to make an appointment and they told me that the visit fee would be about $25. I went in, received treatment and when I went to pay it was a $40. I argued with two people there for a little and they just kept saying it is their policy that I pay the full vet visit amount if they have never seen this cat. Well I told the lady on the phone that this cat had never been there and she still told me $25. She even put my cat into the system when she made the appointment because he was not previously in there. Instead of having good customer service and honoring that price, they told me I could pay the rest at another time if it was to much. I was furious!   • The medical side of Moonbrook Veterinary Hospital offers wellness care starting with our helpful receptionists, licensed veterinary technicians and caring doctors. Our in house laboratory has state of the art blood chemistry analyzers, as well as multiple diagnostic abilities. We have on site radiograph capability and a sterile surgical suite where the and neuters as well as other surgeries are performed. Our ICU/Recovery ward is glass fronted to allow constant supervision of our patients. The boarding side of Moonbrook Veterinary Hospital is really just another extension of the medical in that the health of all pets boarding is carefully monitored by well trained kennel staff, supervised by senior staff. As soon as a boarding pet shows any sign of illness, the veterinary technicians are notified and take the information to the doctors. If treatment is considered necessary the owner is made aware and the animal is transferred into the care of the veterinary staff. All boarding pets must show proof of current vaccinations to stay..
