Worst service. I've been here before and vowed I'd never go again, however yesterday someone broke into my Prius and I needed to get my car fixed at a place that was closest to my house. I decided to take my car to Lakeshore mobile, and what I got for $400 was a used window ($75-$150 typically for used windows), when they told me I was getting a new one put in ($250). Whether this window was new or used, did not matter as much as seeing the dried blood that was all across the top of the window when I got in my car, after I was given my keys and told I could take my car. As an aside, I know this was dried blood because I have worked in a hospital before. Along with the blood, there was a big sticker on the window that hadn't been taken off. This wasn't a sticker that was easy to get off, it was a sticker that left residue on the window. Denis, the man running the shop claimed that he ""didn't see the sticker,"" and he ""didn't see the blood."" I demanded that both the blood and the sticker, along with its residue, be taken off the window before I leave. \r \r Lastly: when a car gets broken into and a window gets smashed, typically there is a lot of glass everywhere. On the phone, Denis told me nonchalantly that I could have the glass cleaned out by him. When I dropped off my car, he called me 30 mins later and told me it would be a $50 extra charge just to vacuum up the glass.\r \r I will absolutely never ever give my business to Lakeshore mobile again. DENNIS WAS THE MAIN MECHANIC WHO REALLY HELPED ME KEEP MY 93 VOLVO WAGON HEALTHY WHILE I WAS A GRAD STUDENT AND MY CAR HAD SOME MAJOR PROBLEMS DURING THE WINTER. IT TOOK A WHILE BUT THEY DIAGNOSED AND FIXED IT - AND IT RAN FOR A LONG TIME WITHOUT ISSUES. WHENEVER I DID HAVE PROBLEMS (IT'S AN OLDER CAR) I DROPPED IT THERE WITH NO WORRIES - AND IT WAS FIXED WITH NO FANFARE OR EXTRA SALES PITCH. JUST GREAT WORK. MISS THOSE GUYS ALREADY. I called Lakeshore Mobil at 2:30pm on a Friday afternoon expecting to hear the same thing I heard from everywhere else, "we're very backed up", but no. I described the problem to Dennis over the phone and he said they would fit me in. The customer service was top notch. I got a complete front brake job done by 4:30pm. And the price was extremely reasonable. The total was even less than I was quoted. All in all, it was an excellent experience and I recommend this repair shop to anyone. Dennis is a very down to earth repair guy. No BS. Which is a terrific change of pace in the car repair industry. more
