First of all, LAUNADELDRAGON - you need to get your facts straight! My admissions rep never lied to me about being a Phlebotomist or EKG Tech. Everyone was told/notified by the...

I ""graduated"" - if that's what you can call it from MCC in 2004.\r 1. The teachers were either never in class & we did bookwork or had no idea what was going on.\r \r 2. I wa...

Got a job! 7/30/2009

I graduated in April as an MA and JUST got a job! It took a minute mostly because of the economy but be patient! In my group only 3 got hired from their externship. Mines was okay but they werent hiring. That education boss is a real wicked one it's true. I am at 13.25 an hour and am happy and still talk to my rep Jen. Who was your rep? Pros: cost better then most Cons: adminsitration more

In Response to the last post 7/28/2009

I'm glad things are working out for you, but for many at this school, that is not the case. Only ONE person from my medical assistant class got a job. I came from a big class. I don't expect the school to give me a job, but at least follow up when you say you will, and don't send me job ads for jobs that are no longer available. Don't do my resume and cover letter that are loaded with grammar and spelling mistakes. Don't send me CNA jobs when there is absolutely no way I will get hired as a CNA because I'm not certified for that. Most of all, don't lie and say you will send me to an externship site that will hire me when you know they don't and won't hire any MA's. I have talked with other MA's who have graduated bfore me, and they are feeling the same way I do. The school needs to be more honest during the admissions process. more

School ain't magic! 7/19/2009

No school is going to get you a job. You need to be the one to do it. Currently going to school for medical coding & billing program. We need to spend more time in ICD-9 and have more workbooks but I get mostly everything. Started my externship and I they are going to hire me but for not as much money as I wanted. The school is pretty nice and people are really sweet but the education boss is a joke since she never wants to talk to students and never calls them back. Everyone complains but nothing happens. Pros: Nice teachers and Admissions Cons: horrible boss more

I Feel Like I Got Sold a $12,000 Dream 5/4/2009

When I signed up for MCC, I thought everything would be great. They told me that I'd be taking the AAMA CMA certification test, and that I'd be placed at an externship where they would hire me if I did a great job. I worked really really hard during school, got A's and B's, and was given two externship sites where I'd be completing my externship. The first site was a free clinic where the entire staff were volunteers, and the second site said they didn't hire MA's. I was shocked!! They won't hire MA's, yet you can use us for free labor?! Even after I found this out, I continued to work hard at both sites, because I take my schooling seriously. I also found out that I would not be taking the AAMA CMA exam, but the NHA exam. I am really upset with the school, because I feel that they lied to me. I have graduated, and have applied everywhere. I have not had any interviews. If I had been placed at an externship site that hired students, I feel I would not be in this situation. Why would a site hire when they know they are going to keep getting MCC students every six weeks that work for free?! I lost my job, because my employer didn't think my education and externship was important. I have nothing to show for it. I'm much worse off now than when I started the MA program. Now, I'm going back to school for an Associate Degree in Nursing. This school was a complete waste of time. more

Friendly Counselers and nice price 3/5/2009

Starting the MA program in April. The counseler I saw was great. I like the family spirit and the fact that the school is accredited. I will get a grant and a loan. The receptionist is really mean it is true and the school is not too new looking. Overall I am glad to be all signed up. Pros: Price, counseler Laurie Cons: Rude receptionist more

Good Program 9/17/2008

I am in phase 2 of my MA program and I know most of the people in my classes really like our experiences here. The instructors are smart and we are doing things that are important for when we get a job after we graduate. They have high job placement rates and have a better reputation then Sandford Brown. I am getting almost all A's right now and am proud about that. Pros: short programs, financial aid more

Nice School 7/10/2008

I liked this school more then MATC . Nobody took my money either. I think that if you cannot get a job you should tried harded to get hired at your externship, and stay there for at least a year, because its very hard to get hired without atleast 1 years experience. The starting pay for a medical assistant for me a yr ago was 11 dollars. I knew a person im my group who started out making 10 dollars an hour. I worked hard and now a year later I am making 15 dollars an hour. She is at 14.15 now and I worked at 6.50 before I graduated. My tuition pd for itself in only one year and I got only one grant. Pros: nice teachers and grant Cons: mean receptionest more

an ok school 6/3/2008

It's funny I see people writing bad things bout MCC...I understand people have opinions of their own but my experience there was great. The whole time I was there I only had one new instructor...the job placement is not just the school's responsibility the student also has to communicate with them. You can't expect to have them do everything for you and get something for nothing. I got student loans and everything frm them and they didnt run off with my money. My education was suppose to be $10,000 but I only end up paying for $6,000 of it because I got grants. I am proud to say I graduated with HIGHEST HONORS and I am Nationally certified as a CCMA frm this college. But I guess everyone's experience is different. I would recommend this college just as long as you COMMUNICATE with them, just as anywhere else, you'd be impressed with what can happen for you. more

pharmacy technician program is fraud 1/27/2008

I was promised job placement but the school never helped. I wasted $11,000 dollars on a useless education.\r President of the school is dishonest and only wants to collect tuition. He fires good teachers and the staff turnover there is very hard on students.\r \r \r Cons: dishonest, only care about the money more
