Took my wife here for a little date, loved it... starting to appreciate Milwaukee more and more

The new building is impressive -- although it seems to have added precious little exhibit space. As an out-of-towner, I found that finding the entrance (on a bitter cold day) was ...

Great way to spend an afternoon 4/16/2006

I have always thought that Milwaukee has a pretty good museum at the MAM. Sure its not huge, but to me, that makes it more approachable. And the collection is much more varied and adventurous than one might expect from a medium sized Midwestern city. The remodel adds such a distinctive element to the city skyline as well as making for such an incredible background for some of the collection. I also like the cafe for doing some people watching while having a swanky beverage or a nosh before heading back to enjoy the art. more

Great Culture 10/3/2005

Not only is the Art Museum wonderful for a cultural experience, but it also offers a place for a wedding/anniversary reception. The museum represents one of the most grand aspects of Milwaukee in design as well as its modern artists on display. Children and adults can enjoy the many intrigal areas, including the fine cuisine and interactive displays. One must return for a second or third visit to consume its beauty. more

Absolutely beautiful 9/25/2005

The new museum is fantastic. It really adds something to the lake area of Milwaukee. I was there for the opening and have been there since and it is always a great day. You can wander around for hours enjoying the works of art. It is well set up and easy to find pieces you're looking for, the staff is extremely nice, and there is a lot of variety as far as the art is concerned. Although there is not a lot of famous pieces they do offer quite a bit of older pieces and local work. It is deffinately worth the time. more

Small City Big Museum 8/15/2005

For the size of the city the Milwaukee Art Museum is a masterpiece. The building itself is a wonder that you can look at for hours on end. Spacious and well kept the museum houses fine art from a long legacy of donors. With many special exhibits the museum is ever changing which offers a new perspective each time you come. more

This museum is a work of art in itself. Besides holding some rare collections, it is just lovely to look at. Built on Lake Michigan, it has the bris soleil "wings" that lift and lower. A must see in Milwaukee. Designed by Calatrava, it is famous around the world. Visiting collections change all the time. more
