I've lived near this place all of my life and I still say it's the BEST Mexican restaurant in Wayne County, yes, I said County.\r
\r
I've been to plenty of other Mexican restaurants for comparison too. I go to school in Detroit so we've frequented Mexican Town, I've been in San Antonio, Texas' Mexican restaurants, and even MEXICO! \r
\r
This IS authentic Mexican food. I don't know why people are going to cry about $1.50 for hot chips and salsa. You aren't paying to just ""get them heated"" you're paying for the tortillas that they use to make them, and the home-made salsa. Tomatoes aren't cheap people! Also, I wouldn't say that it's ""watered down tomato paste!"" It is NATURAL salsa that's fresh. Some people prefer chunky, some people prefer hot, some people prefer w/o chunks. I find that their salsa is refreshing and doesn't leave one with nasty smelling garlic 'n parsley breath! \r
\r
Their beans and rice are sooooo flavorful! \r
\r
I don't think they're expensive at all. Their prices are very reasonable and they give you a TON of food. Other places that I've been to were more expensive with smaller portions.\r
\r
BTW they make FRESH BREWED iced tea. You should try it. It's not the nasty NESTEA fountain junk. \r
\r
The waitresses have always been friendly to us.\r
\r
Yes, people ARE human and sometimes forget that you asked for extra sour cream, straws, etc. I'm sure it's not easy trying to remember 10 different people's requests when you're serving multiple tables. So keep that in mind and stop complaining.
