Unethical business owner Sergio Basmajian . I had watch a in lay away and obeyed their rules, and they sold the watch out from under me. They also had their watch distributorship for the kind of watch I was purchasing pulled from them. Be very carful or this very bad store. Too bad stars can't go negative. Obviously this review is not from a fellow employee or relative. this store has also gone thru a bankruptcy. more

A good friend of mine has had great experiences at Metals in Time. But even on his recommendation, I couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated when they buzzed me inside and I caught glimpse of the endless shining, sparkling cases lining the store. The piece I had in mind was something that I knew they would likely have to special order. Sergio, the manager (owner?) gave me some catalogs to look though, and answered my questions patiently. Event though I know what I was spending was chump change compared to other customers they surely get, it was a large and important purchase to me, and Sergio and his staff treated it as such. When my item came in, they called me right away. I had discussed the possibility of making a slight alteration to it, which they completed in only a day's time. The final result was exactly what I had been looking for, and I will be very excited to gift it in the beautiful box they gave me to put it in. more

I was referred to Metals In Time by some freinds of mine. When I walked in, I was thinking this was too classy for what I wanted to spend. I was greeted by a warm welcome and a smile. I told the salesman what I wanted and they reacted immediately. Once I got to the pricing part I was introduced to Sergio, who I was told to talk to. He shook my hand and gave me first class service. more

I did need to get some jewelry repaired and wanted to shop for a saphire ring but the lousy customer service was much to be desired! wow isn't there a recession in our economy. Some lame blond haired gentleman was quite unprofessional and rude talking on his cell phone thinking i was not worth his time. apparently a lot of the other reviewers are right about this place! My girlfriend Michelle and I have been shopping for engagement rings for the last few months. I would describe my income as fair but by no stretch rich. We like most couples today were looking for the best value without sacrificing quality. WE looked at several shops and found items close to what she wanted, but nothing that marveled her away. We set out to go to a place recommended by her friend (recently engaged) an to our disappointment the minors den was closed. On a wim we decided to look here at Metals in time. The selection was amazing. We didn't think that we would have a chance of affording the settings that she fell in love with. To our surprise the sales man was extremely helpful and we learned much more about diamonds and certification than from the other establishments we had visited. We were treated extremely well. When I returned the following day to explain my payment options and how I would be most comfortable handling it I thought I would be turned away. Sergio met my every request, gave me a great price, I mean great! I got over a 1 carrot certified diamond, the setting, and the wedding band for Michelle for less than our budget. I was not expecting this. Not from this store. I admit that my pre-concived notions of what would happen was way off. I walked out of their not believing what I had just gotten. I had to review the details a second time with Sergio and he had no problem with it and understood my hesitations. Metals in Time is first class and everyone should be including them in their search for engagement rings. I know that from this day forward they will be my first stop for any future purchases. The selection and the inventory they have is vast. It was not a take it or leave it deal. They had several options. I cant forget to add that the final piece of advice that I received from my best friend was to make sure to go outside and view the diamond. He warned me not to get fooled by the bright lights they have in jewelry stores. Before I could ask Sergio suggested that we do that with the 3 stones that we narrowed my selection down to. I am not really sure how this business gets by. I was in the market for a diamond cross but am choosing to buy it elsewhere. I read the other reviews and agree with them. Don't bother shopping here Pros: Building looks attractive Cons: Everything else more

I was in the market for an engagement ring and a close friend of my girlfriend (now fiancee) suggested I go to Metals in Time. When I walked in I did not know much about diamonds so I really did not know what I was looking for. I was very impressed on how I was treated. They actually took the time to educate me in what to look for when purchasing a diamond. Not to mention their engagement ring selection was HUGE !!! They really worked with me so I was able to stay within my budget. I am glad to say she said YES !!! I will 100 percent be back for all of my future jewelry needs ! Thank you Metals In Time ! Talk about something so beautiful turning into a tragedy. The store itself is breath taking with the most impeccable piece of fine jewelry I have ever seen ?I have traveled around the world? but the level of service is the worst that I have ever experienced in my life. I and not from MI, I was visiting my sister who I have not seen in a while and as we where having brunch she was complementing me on a new ring I had purchased in Paris, France. As we where leaving I noticed this beautiful building across the street that happened to be a jewelry store, I told her I wanted to take a look at a few things and have my jewelry cleaned but really I wanted to buy her a ring similar to what I had since she loved it so much. We walked in and barley where greeted by a young lady ?Lindsey? who appeared to be doing nothing. This young man had to leave his customer and said he would be with us shortly as the young lady continued to walk and talk to someone in the back. Over 20 minutes later a taller gentleman ?Sergio, Owner? said hi and if there was anything he can help us with. When showing us the rings he was pushy and didn?t seem interested in our business, he kept taking personal phone calls as we where in front of him. I felt as my business wasn?t appreciated so we left. As we walked the streets in Royal Oak we passed by a smaller/ not as appealing store but seen a few nice pieces in the window. We received the warmest greeting and 5 Star Service the entire time we where there. It only took 30 min. and $5500 later we walked out of there a happy life time customer. I purchased my sister a beautiful ring for $2,300, my husband a simple watch for $700 and myself a pendant & chain to match my ring. $5500 may not be a lot of money to spend at Metals in Time but with the economy the way it is today, every penny counts. I just wanted to say that i am very pleased with the service that i received from metals in time. I was in the market for Diamond bracelet and most of the stores i have visited in the malls all had very similar ""catalog"" product. I was starting to think that all jewelry stores carried the same thing untill i was refered to metals in time by a friend of mine who purchased a diamond ring there. To make a long story short, i found the perfect bracelet for me and received a really great price. I would recommend metals in time to everyone i know. Sergio is a dishonest jeweler. He sold my fiance and I an engagement ring and told us the diamond was a ""H"" color, SI1-SI2. When I asked for the certificate, assuring the stone was what he said it was, he said most diamonds under a ct. don't come with certification. I immediately smelled BS... but long story short, we could not turn back with this purchase. We had already returned one ring and had them custom make another. So, I took the ring to be appraised at a very reputable gemologist. The diamond turned out to be a ""J-K"" color, SI2-I1. We called Sergio to tell him, and got about 100 lines of BS. This man can not be trusted. Metals in Time may look nice, but it is a dishonest establishment. Do not shop here. Shop ANYWHERE but here. more

I justed wanted a pandora bead! And a salesgirl was not attending to anything but proceeded to look through a magazine. Everyone else was busy with customers. I stood a few feet from her waiting for her to help me. she looked up boredly after a few minutes, glanced my way and continued to read her magazine! \r Another salesperson noticed what was happening, stopped talking with his customer for a moment, and asked her to wait on me. She did wait on me if you could call it that. Her tone was very disinterested. I know a pandora bead is not the most expensive item in the store but i think every custmer is important to a business. I guess not everyone agrees with this heathy customer service attitude! more

When I walked in I was offered an espresso or a cold bevererage. I found this to be quite pleasant. A place that appreciates your business for a change. I was then shown watch Heaven. The sales person answered all my questions and concerns. The salesperson made me very comfortable with the purchase and even offered me a price match guarentee. If your a watch collector this is the place for you. They also have a huge selection of pre-owned and vintage watches. Unfortunately this has also become my Wife's favorite store as well. She only where's custom Jewelry and it looks like we have found her new home. I was impressed with there prices on custom pieces. When in the past I would have something custom made like at Tapper's or Darakjian's there would always be a premium, but not at Metals In Time.
