Best

I loved the store. The sales associate was very helpful.

Worst

I have been really disappointed in this jeweller twice. I have found them dishonorable and disagreable on both occasions. Both my husband and I bought Swiss Army Watches there. ...

Worst Service 9/10/2008

This place by far does not live up to it?s expectations of a BEAUTIFUL looking store!\r Sergo is far from honest and makes promises he NEVER can keep. Each time I was they?re expecting to pick up my watch from repair or awaiting my engagement ring there where several clients upset with his service, attitude or lies as well. Not one time did I hear him acknowledge the real problem that we all where having. He only hears what he wants to and is so ready to fire back. Sad to say he has beautiful unique merchandise that can be sold even with today?s economy but with his unethical way to do business he pushes clients from returning or referring new clients. \r Pros: Beautiful Store Cons: Worst ownership/staff more

Several Years of Great Service 8/25/2008

My husband and I walked into Metals in Time 6 years ago when we were engaged to be married. After a long search for wedding rings it ended when we met Sergio and Jack. The selection was beautiful and the service was great. Needless to say, I found the ring of my dreams. Over the years we have purchased other items from the store including watches(they have the best selection) and anniversary gifts. We have referred several family members and friends and they always take care of them. I was shocked when my cousin called me recently and said she was a little nervous to shop there because of the bad reviews. I convinced her to judge for herself. She was very impressed with how she was treated. Sergio designed her wedding ring and wedding band and she absolutely loves them.\r \r We will never go anywhere else! Pros: Customer Service, Great selection more

Unprofessional inattentive staff! 8/20/2008

I have met sergio a few times at social events. I live in Humtington Woods and I am looking for a few watches. I searched citysearch to read his store reviews and was quite shocked at how horrible most of them were! I did go there partly to see if his reputation is deserved. His staff is unprofessional and lazy. A few of them were staring off into space. One salesman who looks like sergio but only pudgier barely looked up from his magazine and asked in a flat tone if I needed any help. He didn't sound welcoming at all. I got the impression i was interupting him! I have to wonder if he is just lazy or does not care about selling. So I have nothing horrible to report unlike the other reviews but go somewhere else where you will be greeted by a attentive and professional staff. more

Buyer Beware 8/20/2008

First. Be educated before stepping into this store. Find out the costs of an item before hand. Ask lots of questions. Sergio made my engagement ring and wedding band. The wedding band broke out my skin on my finger to the point where I could not wear it. They used cheap/bad 18K gold. I looked up all information on this and was seriously educated/prepared before returning. He argued at first, but I had so much back up to what I was saying he agreed to re-make the ring at no charge. How can you argue when your finger has broke out from the metal sitting on it? I have a permanent scar on my finger from the old ring. It broke my heart to give up my wedding ring. Second. Yes, there is customer service issues! Sergio has NO problem leaving a customer and talking on the phone multiple times and for as long as it takes. It should not take an hour to look at two watches, a pendent and a pair of earrings. Sergio- if your helping a customer-don't take phone calls unless it is an emergency. That clearly tells the customer they are not as important as your phone call! At 6 months pregnant, he could have cared less that I am sitting/standing waiting for a solid, uncomfortable HOUR for him while he talked on the phone. Please know I am only giving one examples of a couple of bad incidences, I have more. Third. While Sergio takes used gold, etc. as credit. Once again, be aware. My husband has spent major money in this store... and we should be treated better. Not exactly. Please know I am writing this to forewarn other un-knowing customers. The custom items Sergio has made for us are extremely nice, but we very much forked out the money for them. Beautiful NEW store. Please shop around. Pros: Custom work. Cons: Poor Customer Service. more

I have never been treated to rudely in my life! 8/10/2008

I cannot imagine a customer spending 6,000 dollars and having the owner of the establishment speak so condescendingly! The variety is not nearly as great as advertised. You can find Michael B., used rolexes and baume and mercier anywhere, but you won't find them at great prices at Metals in time. A baume and mercier watch was 800 bucks more than a place 5 miles down the street. On top of that, I have heard nothing but bad things from people I have shared my store with. Go at your own risk. Cons: too many to list more

WILL NEVER GO BACK 8/8/2008

I could not believe how rude these people were to me especially owner Sergio. Nobody knows how Sergio was able to buy that store coming from some small shack in southfield. You have to wonder because even jewelers have the same suspicions. I would not recommend going to metals in time, you'll overpay and you'll be treated poorly. Pros: pretty store Cons: awful customer service, high prices more

Last poster is right! 8/8/2008

Sergio was so rude and when I decided that I did not want to buy the ring, he refused to let me leave or give me my money back. I had no ring to show for it and he still kept my money. I'm currently in the middle of having to litigate him and apparently Metals in Time has several lawsuits in the Oakland County Circuit Court. DO NOT GO HERE! Cons: prices, service and sergio more

Buyers Beware! 8/8/2008

Metals in Time proves that looks can be deceiving. The store itself is very nice but the prices and service rank at the very bottom. We all can expect to overpay at certain jewelers, but generally we are paying extra for piece of mind. At stores like Tappers, Ahi, or Stones, the prices are high but you can be sure that you will always be taken care of. Not so with Metals in Time. Sergio is a grade A thug. He has a reputation for strongarm sales tactics, and leaving nasty voicemails for customers if the mood should strike him. If you hate salesman that block the exit when you finished ""window shopping"" in hopes of intimidating you into buying something, I would highly recommend avoiding Metals in Time. The sales representatives have a nasty attitude and most important: compare their watch prices other stores. They charge on average 30% higher than most other stores. It is NOT worth your time, you'll thank me. Pros: decor, variety Cons: Sergio, customer service, value, strongarm sales tactics more

Extremly disappointed! 4/11/2008

The service is awful, I dont like the attitudes of the people who work there. I would shop anywhere else but here. They need a lesson on how to treat customers, very very disappointed. more

nice place to shop 11/28/2007

Metals In Time was a very nice place to shop. Although I did not purchase anything the staff was very helpfull and they had a nice selection. It was Nice to see the owner on the sales floor awnsering questions and giving feedback to various questions we had regarding certain pieces. The new location was built out very nice and was very comfortable to shop in. There are numerous very nice jewelry stores in the area but I would reccomend Metals In Time to anybody that is looking for a unique piece of jewelry or looking for a custom order. Happy Shopping. Pros: very good selection Cons: to much to choose from more

Great place to shop 11/27/2007

I purchased a Tag from here. Jack one of the owners is extremely courteous and helpful. I was initially told Tag would have the watch for me in 4-6 weeks but they(Tag) keep delaying sending the watch wich is on backorder. Jack has a single copy of this hard to get watch in the window but as I have been waiting for about 3 months for the watch he offered me the option to take his only display copy, despite the fact that he now would not have one to show customers. Contrary to the other customer that had a negative experience mine has been very positive. My wife and I buy small jewlery pieces from here on occasion and they give us good deals. Wife bought a Mercier watch and they have polished it a couple of times now, on the spot no questions asked. So we're happy with the service. My advice if you have any problems take it up to Jack or other manager there and I'm sure you'll be satisfied.\r Chris. Pros: Good service, friendly staff, nice selection. Cons: In 5 years the only problem is: Parking, dont make a left turn or youll get a ticket. There is allways a bored Royal Oak Officer there. more

DO NOT REPAIR YOUR SWISS ARMY WATCH HERE 2/18/2007

I have been really disappointed in this jeweller twice. I have found them dishonorable and disagreable on both occasions. Both my husband and I bought Swiss Army Watches there. He had the ratchet dial on his break. It took them months to fix the watch, and it was done with a completely different color and style of dial. They argued that they had replaced the ratchet, although it was radically different. We felt that we should have been informed prior to putting a different piece than we were used to on the watch. What if a peice of jewelry came back with a different color stone?\r \r When my watch needed a new battery I took it there recently. The day after the battery was changed, there was moisture on the inside of the watch crystal. When I called them, their response was, ""Well, the customer is suppposed to ask us if they want it water tight, if they are a diver or a swimmer... It's not our job to ask. It will be another 25 dollars charge, but you can bring it by."" After I explained that I had called Swiss Army and relayed that Swiss Army said that a reputable place should check it for water tightness after opening the case, he said, ""Well, are you a diver? Well, it will be a 25 dollar charge anyway, no matter what.""\r \r While I agree that they can charge for a service, I don't think it is my job to ask. I'm not trained in watch repair and I had no idea to ask that question. I did call an authorized Swiss Army Repair Service in the city and they said that their practice is to tell the customer this information beforehand. Finally, when I told them that there was a problem, they should have looked at the watch, told me what needs to be fixed, and never uttered the words ""The customer is supposed to ask us..."" Now, I will never return there. In addition, since both my husband and I are physicians, we will be sure to tell all our friends that this jeweller has very unpleasant employees and dishonorable business practices, despite the pretty facade.
