Meraki Hair & Makeup Studio

The salon, and stylist Melanie, were recommended to me by a colleague and so I decided to try their services for myself. Less than a week ago, I went in for a hair color and cut. I have blonde hair that tends to get brassy and had an especially brassy section from a previous touch-up at a different place. I went in and had my hair touched-up and toned by Melanie. She also cut my hair into a cute style I walked out loving. Two days later, after washing my hair, I noticed that my previous brassiness was being stubborn and did not completely fade with the services I received. (This wasn't apparent the day of the initial coloring services to anyone, including me, and I looked at it closely.) I called the salon the following day and was told to come in at my earliest convenience. I did so that very day and was treated just as well as I was the first time I came in. Melanie took the time to carefully examine my hair, understood my concern, and, without one hesitation, went right to work in order to make me happy. Long story short, I walked out of there a very satisfied customer who will definitely be going back in 4 weeks for another touch-up. (Being a blonde isn't easy!) It's rare for me to experience such amazing customer service, especially on Staten Island, and I will be recommending Gemmette Hair Studio to anyone who will listen. I HEARD ABOUT GEMMETTE HAIR STUDIO THROUGH MY MOTHER THAT LIVES ON STATEN ISLAND. I LIVE IN RED BANK, NEW JERSEY. WE HAD A FAMILY AFFAIR TO ATTEND IN BROOKLYN ONE SATURDAY AFTERNOON. SINCE I HAD TO PASS THROUGH STATEN ISLAND TO PICK UP MY MOTHER FROM GEMMETTE HAIR STUDIO, I SCHEDULED MYSELF FOR A BLOWOUT ALSO. WELL, FROM HERE ON OUT I WILL TRAVEL FROM JERSEY OT STATEN ISLAND TO GET MY HAIR DONE ALWAYS! I WAS WOW-ED AT THE AMAZING MASSAGE YOU GET WHILE GETTING YOUR HAIR WASHED. NOT ONLY WAS THE MASSAGE GREAT BUT THE BLOWOUT WAS GREAT. MY HAIR HAD NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD AND I FELT VERY COMFORTABLE WITH THE STYLIST THAT I SAW AND WILL CONTINUE TO SEE. i have always been apprehensive about getting my makeup done by someone else, but my friend was telling me how great gemmette hair studio was and how talented the team was. i decided to go in for a makeup application for a party i was attending that night. the staff was so welcoming and the place was beautiful not to mention my makeup never looked better. i loved it and got compliments all night. the true test is if it doesnt run down my face halfway through the night and it didnt. great experience would definitely go back. dont forget to try the sangria! more

After receiving several sets of chemo treatments in the past, my hair grew back so fine and limp. I had researched so many wigs and extension lines and had gone to so many salons to try the hair extensions they carried. A friend of mine heard that Gemmette Hair Studio recently added extensions to their service list. She rants and raves about this place and tries to get me to go there all the time but now that they offered something I was looking for, I finally went. My hair has never looked so good, we added 3 colors to make it that much more natural looking. I had never heard of So-Cap extensions but they are the best! The staff is so pleasant. I now know what my girlfriend had been talking about and I am very very happy that I decided to go. more

Gemmette Hair Studio is fairly new to the area that I live in. I decided to give it a try because going into the city to get my hair done was becoming a hassle. Well that was the best decision i ever made. Aside from the atmosphere of the salon being absolutely physically gorgeous, it was very welcoming as well. As soon as you enter the studio, the entire staff is ready to cater to your needs. I had made my appointment just for a haircut because I was hesitant to try color or any other services and wanted to make sure I felt comfortable with the stylist I was seeing, which was the owner, Jeff. I immediately knew that my treck to the city was over when I met and spoke with him. He allowed time for a thorough consultation in which he listened carefully to what I wanted and the processes my hair had gone through in the past. (He was able to listen to me and my picky thoughts for about 15 minutes) I didnt think my visit to the studio could have been much better after drinking a cappuccino and being massaged at the shampoo station until I saw my hair after being cut and styled. It was amazing. Nonetheless, I was given the option to make standing appointments for the year, and I did for color and cuts.
