These faggots are scam artists. They basically stole my vehicle, claiming I was in violation of the HOA rules, and when I contacted the HOA they had no record of me being in violation of anything. These cocksuckers drive around and put 'stickers' on cars that you will NEVER see then claim they warned you. I hope it feels good to be scam artists who pose as a legitimate company. Karma is a bitch and I hope your company gets sued and you all lose you jobs. Dickheads. more

THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE. . I parked IN MY APARTMENT COMPLEX in a handicap spot with the windows down and hazards on. I ran some groceries up to my 3rd floor apartment because there are no spots in the lot and yet theres 50 handicap spots that no one uses. i parked there, ran the groceries up, threw the colds in the fridge and when i walked out to move my car, i heard a diesel truck and the sound of a tow truck. Sure enough he lifted my car and took off in it. When i caught him on the street because he DID NOT STOP FOR THE STOP SIGN LEAVING THE APARTMENT COMPLEX PARKING LOT or he didn't yield to the sign... i had to run after and catch him on 11th avenue! He then proceeded to tell me that if he drops it it'll be $150 because he left the private grounds. $150!?!?! i said do you take credit cards because who in their right minds walks around with 150 cash only in the pocket... He said no. this company is 100% employing scammers! cash only business that even at the main office CANT MAKE CHANGE but charges not on the 5 or 10 dollar amount, but the 6 or 1 dollar amount so your forced to go find exact change, or give them a tip it seems. He backed off and tried giving me some grace before explaining that i have 5 minutes to literally RUN 6 blocks to a gas station, withdrawal 80 dollars which is what he said he'd charge me... and run the 6 blocks back. when i got back. he had left. i went to the shop and then the fee jumped from 80 which i had pulled out, to now not 150 that he said cuz he left the grounds, but another 30 dollar fee, $4.21 a MILE for gas... and then a $66 ""After Hours"" fee bringing the total to almost $300.... or i could come back in the morning and skip the after hours fee and just pay the overnight and tow for $200. they wouldn't let me get the car out without paying the over night fee. This company has the worst reviews ever and if someone had a good experience with this company and wrote on it, it was because... and I'm not just saying this, read what they have written... they were a woman who was able to flirt with these fat pig thick headed socially incompetent lowlife beings that they hire to drive around with their name on the side of the truck. I wish everyone would look at these reviews before using this company and i HOPE that someone reaches out and can visually see how crooked, corrupted, scamming and nitwitted run this company actually is. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this company. Not only did the unqualified carless driver not take care of my vehicle, but he did not cover the windows when it got to their lot, he lifted the vehicle so high that the front bumper from his negligent driving scraped and cracked and broke my front bumper, the driver doesn't listen or care about anyone and the company couldn't be any worse. I was a tow truck driver... and in my days of driving and seeing this. I can't believe their still in business and haven't been shut down. plain and simple... any company using them as a towing company, you are degrading your level and making yourself look bad because of how much of a lowlife company MAXX AUTO RECOVERY off of Smith Rd in Denver is... more

Incompetent doesn't begin to describe... 9/23/2011

Yes I got towed. But I was towed from a home that I own, from a spot that I own for having the wrong color sticker. The HOA company sent me the sticker I followed the instructions. The guy who towed it actually came to tow someone elses car. When they got out emails saying it was ok as proof they guy said ""Well I have to tow someones car or I'll be in trouble."" When I called in I talked to an uneducated rude girl. Who told me I should know it's the wrong color. I didn't know I was in charge of the HOA and should know when they gave me my sticker. She transfered me to another lady, who was ""in charge"", who was worse. Needless to say the worst experience ever!! more

Why is there nothing that can be done 7/23/2011

So i really understand if i park in the wrong spot, by a red curb, or in some random doods swimming pool and my car gets towed, but not from my apartments that doesn't even have assigned parking. The employees were rude all the way up until I handed them $600 dollars for them having the truck for a whole whopping 6 days. Sucks waiting on a paycheck when a tow bill is chopping away on that paycheck more

SCAMERS-NOT AN HONEST BUISNESS 5/20/2011

these people are know to scam, the remove their own ""warning"" stickers after they take a picture of it on the car and then tow it the next day. (they use a spray bottle with water to apply the sticker, so the adhesive doesnt stick to the window but long enough to take a picture and then remove the sticker) so when you go down there and ask why is may car towed they will tell you that you had a warning sticker on your car, (which you never recieved) and towed it for what ever reason. just to get your money. we have videos from certain people if you leave your car unlocked they will reach in and remove your parking permitt. towing your car that same night for parking in a reserved space with no permitt. then you go and leave a review and the owner tries to back up his crooked buisness. you have this many people complaining and writing bad reviews for a reason check out these videos on you tube what kind of crooked people they really are. YES MAXX AUTO by the way these people get a negative rating more

This is possibly the worst company ever to deal with 2/27/2011

This company is awful my roommate and I have unfortunately have needed to deal with these people 3 times. I could go on but it's the same story as any other negative review of this company. Also I totally agree with LYDIA1013'r review in that all the 5 star reviews are by maxx auto recovery employees. Not just that they are giving this completely awful company a glowing review but they all sound the same, ""yeah getting my car sucked but at least it was done by maxx."" BULL S@@@ there is no way those reviews were posted by people who are not employed by maxx. I feel sorry for anyone who has to deal with these legal thieves. more

PROFESSIONAL & EXPERIENCED drivers and staff 2/17/2011

After reading some of the reviews for this company I was convinced I had to share my experience. Ok, my car got towed, of course I am not happy about it (no one is ever happy to have their car towed), but it was totally my fault. I parked my wrecked vehicle in my apartment parking lot and I received a warning that it would be towed if I did not repair my vehicle or remove it from the property. Being a single mother, life is busy, so the warning sticker/wrecked vehicle were low on my priority list. Three days later, sure enough, it got towed. When I called Maxx Auto Recovery with questions they were very nice and understanding. They even called me back to make sure I knew what I had to bring with me to get the vehicle. When I went to pick up my vehicle, there was a complete and total a$$ at the window. He was extremely vulgar and rude to the young lady behind the window but she stayed very calm and professional. When I got up to the window, I didn't know what to expect. If someone had just treated me the way he treated her, I would be in a bad mood. She was just happy to have him out of there I think because she was very nice to me. I paid the tow bill and they had to tow my wrecked vehicle out to me since it doesn't run. The driver was cute, very nice and polite. (I honestly expected a dirty, toothless, raggedy driver.) No one wants to deal with getting their car towed, but hopefully if you ever get towed, it's by Maxx Auto Recovery. My experience was as pleasant as it could have been. Even when I called upset, they were very understanding and worked with me to get my car back to me. more

RACIST & OUT OF CONTROL DRIVER (GAY & BLACK comments) 1/29/2011

So I had a car towed on 1-29-11. I approached a different driver for MAXX Auto Recovery. I asked him why they towed my car and they made a mistake because I'm registered in the Apartment complex. To make a long story short! After I asked him to check my car for a sticker. Driver#77 Called me a ""F@#%ing Liar!"" So I said you ""don't have to be an ""ass@#$@ about it. Have a good night."" As I walk away the driver got out of his truck, ran over and pushed me in the back. I turned around and said ""touch me again and I own your company."" He stepped back towards the truck. He then goes on a rampage! He starts calling me a ""F@GG#$, and to suck his dick."" I told him that he must be ""insecure about being gay, and that he would enjoy it too much."" He loses it! Then starts screaming ""You F#@%ing F@GG#$! The Reason why your car was towed was because you live with a bunch of N I G G @ # s! "" The fact that the driver had zero self restraint is UNACCEPTABLE! In my opinion, I said all of my remarks in a sarcastic tone. The driver yelled as if he was a NEO-NAZI! No matter what I say, just drive away. I'm HIGHLY OFFENDED! First off my best friend is gay. My godfather is black, i'm not a fan of bigotry. I told his managers about the incident, and they were way too cool! They told me that his actions were not permitted and that they would take proper action against their employee. If MAXX Auto Recovery does not fire or suspend this driver ASAP. Then I will hold their company personally responsible for damages Suffered in my altercation. If anyone has had racist remarks directed towards them from this company. Please let me know. Thanks! more

Incompetent Company 10/7/2010

My car was towed from a legal parking space. Photographs taken by the tow truck driver as well as myself clearly indicate my car was legally parked in a non-reserved, non-handicapped spot. Apartment management had to get involved to have my car released from Maxx, They advised Maxx the car should have never been towed. Even though the pictures clearly indicate my car was legally parked, Maxx refused to admit their mistake. A representative at Maxx refused to even give me the name of the top manager in the office so I could follow up. I have since filed a report with the local BBB (case # 75129211) and I will continue to make attempts to follow up with Maxx Towing until my concerns and complaints have been heard and handled to my satisfaction. more

CON ARTISTS 4/10/2010

This company towed my LEGALLY parked car, never even tried to contact the owner, and also towed my car over 30 miles to denver. Its only been impounded by this company for 3 days and its is going to cost over 500 dollars in CASH to claim my car. Any other towing company in boulder would have charged me a little over 200 bucks to get my car back, but not this company. These people are scam artists and have several law suits pending. This is a complete and utter rip off. Once i have recovered my car, I am reporting them to the better business bureau! My sympathies to anyone who has the pleasure of trying to reclaim their car from this crap company. Cons: EVERYTHING more

Parking Illegally 11/22/2009

I have no sympathy for anyone who parks their car illegally, especially in a clearly marked handicapped parking space. There are cars who regularly park in handicapped spaces without a hang tag in their car or their license plate marked as handicapped. These are able bodied drivers who ignore the law and deprive handicapped drivers of their legal right to park in handicapped parking spaces. Shame on you. Be glad that you don't HAVE to use handicapped parking and are able to walk without difficulty. more

WORST EVER!!!! PART ONE 11/12/2009

I own a 97 black Audi and it started on fire after i had just put 6300 dollars of repairs into it. My insurance is totalling it out and they towed it to my condos where I reside and he gave it a flat tire and put it in visitor parking as he could not fit his truck into where my parking spot is here. I never received any type of notice on my car. My neighbor Dale next door advised me that there was a notice on my car the day before you towed my car. The second he told me about the notification I contacted my agent and they were to tow it before midnight. However, obviously that did not happen and I had just gotten out of the shower when my friend who is here visiting from minnesota said ummmm sherri someone is taking your car then he said no wait he is just taking photos of it and then I said hurry go stop him so i can get dressed and go talk to him. So he went out there and two hispanic men started pushing him then the tow truck driver said it is none of his business and he needs to walk away and leave. I then got dressed and ran out there barefoot I said sir excuse me sir what are you doing? I own this car and I live here this is my car and my parking lot what are you doing why are you trying to take my car? He did not say a single solitary word to me. I then told him I had an envelope of cash in my glove box and he would not let me near my car then he perceded to start ramming into me with his big huge body (shoulder) he stepped on my bare feet several times and he then punched me in the arm two times and never said a word to me. I called him a jack a and then i grabbed his arm and said please please why cant you talk to me???? Say something I was pleading with him to talk to me as of why he was taking my car. He absolutley refused to say a word to me. I then started crying and I called the police. They came immediately I got the license plate number of the truck with the two hispanic men in it. I now hold documentation in my hand of your tow truck driver admitting to ramming into me, etc. I will take this to my attorney and I will file a major law suit for harassment and assault against your driver and your company. I also called and the woman that answered your phone was absolutely hanus to me and called me names and hung up on me. I have a huge suit here my attorney is Timothy Kelly a dear friend of mine as well and an amazing attorney. I would, however, be willing to agree to have you release my car to me and Bear Creek Auto and end this civially and easily. Or, we can do this the hard way...well hard for you not for me. Please contact me at your earliest convenience either via email at sherriann808@msn or via cell at 720-447-9578 Best regards, Sherri A. Stensing Cons: ALL more

impound 6/15/2009

My vehicle was towed from my friends HOA for not having a permit. She should have told me, but now I have to pay to get it out. When I arrived at MAXX there was about 3 people in front of me. While I waited I heard a man yelling at the lady at the window, he was really mean! I thought, great, now I'll be yelled at 'cause she'll be mad. When I got up there she was so pleasant and nice, and apologetic for the wait and the fact that I even had to be there. It made it not so bad, everyone, even the cute guy that drove my car out for me, was really nice. If you HAVE to get your car impounded you should hope that it is MAXX! Pros: nice impound yard, polite workers Cons: having your car towed. more

Had to call police to get my car out of impound 3/24/2009

I went to get my car out of impound after they impounded my car from a handicap parking spot which my boyfriend is an amputee. I then when to pick it up and had cash in hand which she refused to take so I called the cops, which they did make them give me my car, but they are all in together. They p&*# you off on purpose to get more money out of you. Pros: They make Cheney look honest Cons: They exist at all more

Running a scam 2/9/2009

When I went to pick up my car, they said they could not drive it out of their yard because the battery was dead. I had never had a problem with the battery before, and had driven the car only a few hours before they towed it. They would not release my car unless I paid them $20 to tow it from their yard to the street (about 50 feet). They would not let me enter the yard to see what was wrong, or to jump start it. I finally had to pay them the $20. I put the jumper cables on for about 30 seconds, and it started right up. I knew I had not left the lights on because nothing was on when the car started. The same thing happened to the next guy after me. I think they drained our batteries so that they could charge us to release the car. They are running a scam. Cons: They will drain your battery and charge you to tow it from their yard to the street. more

Can we all agree that the regulated rates for towing in CO are just WAY TO HIGH 1/26/2009

Ok just so you guys know what the state reg's are on tow company charges (so when you get charged close to $300 you know why). \r \r $140.00 hook-up fee\r $3.45/mile\r $27.00/day (this starts as soon as your car reaches their lot)\r $60.00 after hours (law states what ""normal"" business hours are M-Sat 8-53\r \r Now, I think towing companies are mostly evil (I mean come ON they are legall taking your property and extorting $ out of you , right?) Sure they are great for when your car is in a ditch, whatever.\r \r BUT I think the main point is is that they will charge whatever maximum the state allows. Just recently graduated from college I know several people that have been towed...but it was NEVER $275. My dad constantly has cars towed away from the huge steel mill that he works in and he says that it ALWAYS about $100.00. I think it is important to make our law makers understand that $275 is what a minimum wage earner makes in a 40 hour week and people just can't afford this bs. PS a tow in DOWNTOWN CHICAGO $125.00 my friend paid on a Saturday night and he did NOT give her any breaks...CHICAGO people not freaking Dever!\r \r ALSO IF YOU CATCH YOUR CAR BEING TOWED THE MAXIMUM ""DROP RATE"" (TO LET YOUR CAR GO/NOT TOW IT) IS $64.00 AND THEY MUST ACCEPT YOUR OFFER FOR THIS...THE ONE FAIR LAW THAT THEY HAVE ON THIS! Pros: NOT MEAN Cons: TOW COMPANIES ARE ALL AROUND EVIL ! more

Predatory Business- Does no service to the community 12/18/2008

How is it that this is even legal? \r \r My story: My car was parked in my apartment complex. I had expired tags--an issue between me and Arapahoe Cty DMV. These parasites come in the dead of night like thieves and tow my car 30 miles and extort $221 from me to get my car back. When I get my car back, the form they give me says on the bottom that ""every effort was made to contact the owner"". They didn't even know my name when they stole my car; how can they say they even tried to contact me???\r \r They are hyenas. They are ringworm. They do no service to the community. They are legalized racketteers.\r \r And any ""5 star"" rating given here on them is probably an employee. Ge real - who in their right mind is happy to have their car towed and then pay hundreds of dollars to get it back? Any business that makes their money this way should be made illegal. Pros: If parasitic business models were an olympic sport, they'd have a gold Cons: The fact that they are still legal to do business more

not all bad!!!! 10/23/2008

What readers must realize is that all of these comments were made by people who parked their cars illegally and were impounded due to NO ONE ELSE's fault but their own. I was recently towed by MAXX, and yes, although I was angry and the fees seemed high (although after much research I learned that all the fees are regulated). Their yard is new and safe and my car was undamaged. I took the risk of parking my vehicle somewhere where I knew I shouldn't and I paid the price. If they didn't tow my car someone else would have, and in that respect I am glad that it was MAXX. more

Worst Company I have ever dealt with 10/23/2008

I understand that company's have a job to do, but Maxx towing is the most awful company I have dealt with ever! The women I spoke to was very rude and out of line by cutting me down and made some rude comments about my family, she does not ever know us. The manager I spoke to was even worse. He should be embarrassed about managing rude people and I would love for the owner to know what kind of jerks he has working for him. The Better Business Bureau will be notified by me regarding this company. I do not recommend ever using this towing company for anything! Cons: Where do I start? more
