Massage Envy

I really don't get why some people trash Massage Envy. It's a chain, and it's not a spa - it's a place to get massage therapy at reasonable rates. I go regularly because I sit at a computer too much and my shoulders are jacked up, and their deep tissue massages really help me out. I've had a membership for almost a year, and have had consistently good massages and customer service. I went to one therapist for a while, but since she left to go back to school, I've just taken whoever's available, and the results have been very consistent. The place is very clean (I've been to Cherry Creek, Tamarac, and Boulder) and I haven't had problems with noise either (granted, I'm not a special snowflake about such things - I might not notice unless there was a bulldozer out there). If you have a preference for a particular therapist, or male v. female, they will happily accomodate you; I always get women therapists, but haven't had any problems with any of them. Anyway, if you're looking for decent massages at reasonable rates, don't let any of the bad reviews scare you away; if you want some kind of ultimate pampering experience don't expect to get it for $39/hr. more

I've been a client at Massage Envy for a year now, and I love this service. I mostly used the Cherry Creek location, and also the Tiffany Plaza location on occasion. I have experienced friendly service and good massages, regardless of the therapist I get. My only complaint is you session is always 10 minutes shorter than what you pay for. The rooms are clean and quiet. I've never had any issues with noise, as some other reviewers have. I have never had any issue with billing either, although I haven't tried to cancel. I usually get at least one massage a month. Having this membership reminds me that I need to take care of myself in this manner. My appt was mysteriously cancelled not once but TWICE at this ill run dump. Both times, after arriving for an appt I scheduled as recently as the day before so therefore could NOT have forgotten the time had I wanted to, I was told, "sorry, it looks like you don't have an appt here, but we DO have a therapist who can help you today". I'm then handed over to the REAL fat lady mouth breather who smells like fish. Or the dirty old man type I see folding the linens. I suffered through the fat lady, but walked out on the man. Yick. But then when I DID have to cancel once, I'm threatened by Marissa, "if you don't give us more notice, we are going to charge your account anyway". I asked her to speak with the boss, and horror of horrors, Marissa IS the boss. Screw that noise, if they can cancel me twice with no reimbursement, then I can take my money elsewhere. Go elsewhere, spend a little more and get something that makes you feel good. I've never seen such poorly trained desk staff, and the few good therapists they have had, don't stay. Now I know why. If you're not familiar with Massage Envy, it is a chain through out the country. I transfered my membership from across the country when I moved out here less than a year ago. The front desk is courteous and the place is well kept and clean. The atmosphere is not really spa- like. There are well over 10 rooms, so it makes it more of a massage parlor. If you want to be pampered , skip this place. But if you want an affordable massage, it is worth it. The massages are not the top notch best, it's more you get what you pay for. It's worth trying atleast once, to get the $39 promo rate. I believe it was around $50 when you sign up for their annual membership, but about $65 if you don't have a membership. For the extra dollars, it may be worth just going to a full on spa (depending on what you're looking for in a massage ie ambience, location, etc.) Pros: Affordable Cons: Not a Spa, or Spa like setting more

I'd never been to Massage Envy in Cherry Creek. I'd read the prior two dismal reviews but decided to go anyway and try it out. I'm so glad I did! I called last minute and scheduled a 5:30pm appointment. If you're a first-time customer, the 50-minute massage is only $39. Initial paperwork is quick, and there was no pressure to become a member or buy other products. Prompt & friendly service! The massage room was extremely serene, quite, clean, dim & soft music played. My massage therapist Jennifer M. was excellent: personable, sweet, very professional & attentive to all my needs. She gave me a wonderful, relaxing, deep-tissue massage. I'm glad I paid no heed to existing bad reviews and found out for myself what this place is all about. I guess I should have looked a little more into this place, but it is nothing more than an office building that has massage tables. It is so loud during your treatment, all you can hear is talking and laughing right outside. It did not feel clean, and the people that work there dont seem to have much experience and probably just came right out of massage school. I would certainly reccomend the woodhouse or arvilla for a nice pampering massage. more

There is no contact information on the internet for a reason. Do not give them any of your credit card information, they will continue to charge your account without notice and will not tell you. They will avoid your calls concerning this at all costs. more
