Best

We ate downstairs where it was more casual, but you have got to go. Server gave us a whole education on sustainable seafood too. It was awesome. Try the shrimp!

I went to this restaurant with the intent of having a nice dinner out for my last night on vacation with four friends. Between us, we ordered four different dishes, and each was ...

Very good, but not as good as the original... 4/4/2008

We stumbled upon the original Fleur de Lys while on a trip to San Francisco and were amazed. It was hands down the best meal we'd ever eaten. So, to our pleasant surprise, when we discovered there was a second location open in Las Vegas, where we live, we decided to dine there for our wedding anniversary. Our waiter Jack was very friendly and attentive, as was the rest of the wait staff. Most of the food was unbelievable, but not all. At the original location, every single dish was melt in your mouth delicious. At this location, some of the dishes were okay, some were exceptional...but for the cost of a dinner for two there, I expect every single dish to be amazing. We had wonderful experience, but will probably save our money for the original in San Francisco next time we are there. Pros: Very good wait staff, nice decor, good food Cons: Not as good as the orginal more

Surprisingly very Good 2/22/2008

In a town full of very well publicized great restaurants with very well known chefs, we also like to try the not so marketed spots to see what they can put out.\r RM surprised us with a very good sushi dining experience.\r The sushi chef was very interested in what we wanted and listened to our requests. he also made some sugestions which all turned out to be delicious. \r Our group tried several of their soups and they were fantastic. The miso was incredibly hearty and a bit creative.\r Some of my friends had offerings from the pasta portion of the menu, which I found them to be nuts to do since this is a seafood restaurant. They wish they had listened because their pasta dishes were average at best, but hey you don't go to a steak house or Italian restaurant and order sushi now do you.\r The staff and service were very attentive and not pushy, which many restaurants in LV are - trying to upsell you on everything at every moment.\r The overall design of the spot is clean, but I'm not in love with the erector set metal vibe they have accomplished.\r I'll be back and be back soon - for the sushi and service. Pros: Sushi, Seafood and Service Cons: Location, Design and Pasta Dishes more

Very Romantic... Great Food and Exceptional Service 10/26/2007

I was given a gift certificate to Fleur de Lys for a wedding gift otherwise I may not have ever gone there. The restaurant was well worth the wait and the service was exceptional. We never ran out of wine and the food was a real treat to the pallet. Pros: Atmosphere, Service and Food Cons: The waiting, but well worth it. more

Sumptious Food . . . Beautiful Room . . . Robotic Service 10/1/2007

Fleur de Lys clearly honors its San Francisco tradition! The room itself is incredibly beautiful, soft and romantic - an eye catcher that welcomes you the minute you enter. Reservations were honored promptly, on a busy Friday evening, and we loved the personable bar tendress we met when we arrived early and had a cocktail before being seated. Our meal itself was outstanding, with beautifully presented dishes, prepared to tasty perfection. The Jubilee of Hierloom Tomatoes burst with a variety of wonderful textures, scents and tastes and my Truffled Halibut was incredible, as were the deserts and items offered ""with the compliments of the chef."" Wine parings were smart and good. We did have one disappointment, however, that makes us believe it must be difficult to find good wait staff in las Vegas. The service WAS very good and the meal paced reasonably well, but so many different people showed up at our table that we actually never knew which one was our waiter. Each person described our dishes, when presented, but they never made eye contact and stood at attention robotically reciting memorized lists. We wondered if they even knew what a ""reduction"" meant and we actually laughed at the ""this on top of this, underneath that"" wording that made it sound like we were on an archeological dig. Such a fine resturaunt should have personable servers, who engage their diners. I suppose you can train the staff, as Fleur de Lys clearly does, but can not as easily teach them to have a personality. It was the only thing missing from an otherwise ""5 star"" experience. Pros: Atmosphere, Decor, Food, Cocktail Lounge & Bartender Cons: Robotic wait staff more

Very nice atmosphere and great tastes! 6/2/2007

My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves here. This was one of the best restaurants we've ever eaten at. The menu is very varied, with lots of unique taste experiences. This is a perfect restaurant for a romantic date. Pros: Excellent food and ambience more

Decent Italian Food 4/3/2007

My husband and I were able to get in on a Saturday night without a reservation. We were seated immediately. But it was 9:30pm. They bring a basket of different breads with a head of roasted garlic and olive oil and vinegar for dipping. The bread is excellent. I usually try and stay away from eating bread before dinner but I couldn't stop myself and we had 2 baskets!\r My husband ordered the chicken soup to start and lasagne for the entre'. He was crazy for the soup. He said the broth was very fresh and flavorful. The lasagne came in it baking dish and was what lasagne is supposed to be, HOT and cheesy and saucy but in good proportion. It is a large portion and my husband could not finish it.\r I had the green salad. For a green salad I thought it was excellent. It was a spring mix with red onion but the dressing was delcious! It was a balsamic with feta cheese sprinkled in. I loved it! I ordered the pizza margherita and it was just ok. I am considered a pizza expert so I think I can explain it properly. The crust was a little dry. It was thin and crispy like it should be just tasted dry. Their was barely any sauce so maybe that is why it was so dry. The cheese was fine but NO basil!\r All in all we had a good experience. The service is very good. I would eat here again. Pros: The bread Cons: The pizza could be better for a Wolfgang Puck pizza more

Wonderful Food 3/30/2007

Wow. We were in Mandalay waiting for a flight and it was still early so we were able to get a table at 6pm. My wife had the mamamia prefixe while I chose the prefixe with 3 choices ($79). For the mamamia my wife chose: salad, salmon, and it comes with the chocoholics delight. I ordered foie gras, the filet mignon, and the grand marnier souffle. The salmon was fresh, tender, and cooked perfectly throughout. The chocolate desserts were excellent. My foie gras was just right and the filet mignon was absolutely perfectly cooked medium rare and tasted wonderful. As for the souffle - very enjoyable. Overall, our meal was excellent for the price and the service was very good. Pros: Wonderful Food, Good Service more

Simply put.......TERRIBLE 3/14/2007

I?m not sure if Shanghai Lilly has taken a severe turn for the worse or what, but I could not disagree more with most of the other positive reviews on this restaurant. Four of us went to Shanghai Lilly over the weekend on our first trip to Las Vegas. The menu seemed appealing to all, and really seemed right up our alley. \r \r We started with the appetizer sampler which was actually pretty good, but unfortunately turned out to be the highlight of the meal. Regarding entrees, we ordered Mongolian Beef, General Tso?s Chicken, Honey Chicken, and a Kung Pao Chicken. All 3 of the chicken dishes were simply put?awful. The sauces seemed decent, but the chicken meat itself was just off. One comment at the table was, ?this could very well be a Chicken McNugget?. The Mongolian Beef wasn?t terrible, but certainly wasn?t good. We all also paired brown rice with each of our entrees. Once the check arrived, it was to our dismay that the brown rice was not included with the entree?!?! What Chinese restaurant doesn?t include rice with their entrees??!! This was the capper! \r \r With all the options to dine in Las Vegas, I must admit that in my opinion, you should steer WELL CLEAR of Shanghai Lilly. Pros: Service was good, nice ambience inside Cons: Food quality, no rice with entree, didn't ask for liquor brand for gin and tonic more

Pleasantly surprised 2/15/2007

My first french experience and pleasantly surprised. The service is impeccable and the portions were perfect however the temperature of the dishes were a little on the cold side. I give them the benefit of the doubt since they probably had everything prepped ahead of time since it was a set course meal all night. The presentation was beautiful too. Its definitely a nice experience and would like to go back and dine from the regular menu.\r Pros: Service Cons: Cost more

Nice Small Aquarium 11/21/2006

A good diversion when in Vegas, especially on hot summer days. The setting is very nice, and the small aquarium will not wear you out. A nice display of sharks and other marine life. A good place for families, which is becoming more rare in Vegas. Pros: Small, Easy to Cover, Good Display Cons: Not a complete marine environment, and selection is limited. more

moorea 11/19/2006

This is a great club. Besides the topless part which is great. Its $50 for men so they are few. No kids which is worth the 50 in itself. Great service and its not over crowded. Each time I have been the women have been hot and not shy. Of course there have been exceptions to both. Pros: no kids, topless Cons: $$ more

Low-key, hip, romantic and intimate. 11/14/2006

I met up with some friends here earlier this year on a weekend evening. Fleur de Lys has hip decor, comfortable and funky seating, attractive and friendly staff, inventive cocktails and a great DJ. The DJ is for mellow background music, NOT dancing -- this place is way too small for dancing. We didn't try any of their food, but if you're looking for an interesting little watering hole, check this place out! Pros: Low-key, not too crowded, great music Cons: Expensive drinks, the good seating at the bar fills up quickly more

Nice but pricey 11/8/2006

Three of us had the tasting menu, which at $150/pp (including the butter-poached lobster) seems a little extreme for the food that arrived. I enjoyed nearly all of the dishes (tomato broth overwhelmed some nice lobster ravioli), and a few of dishes were real standouts: tender swordfish in green curry, the green apple and vodka drink that came with the tartare, a seared scallop with a smear of sherry reduction, etc. The matching wines were $70 and very well done. Based on our empty plates, I would say that desserts were a success. For the most part the flavorings are subtle, and if you don't like subtlety you may not appreciate rm as much as I did.\r \r I recommend rm, though I have to say that I think the meal I ate wasn't quite worth the price I paid for. But that seems to be par for the course in Vegas. more

Best Part of Our Trip 11/1/2006

I am so glad we decided to dine here. The presentation of the food is lovely, but the taste is exquisite. The attention you receive from the wait staff went above and beyond. \r \r We chose a bottle of Pinot Noir to go with our 3 course meal, which was the perfect amount of food, and the wine expert at the restaurant gave us a description of what we were about to enjoy. \r \r I started with the smoked salmon and guacamole. What a unique combination! The food melted on my tongue and I almost moaned aloud. \r \r The second course I chose was the filet mignon which was so tender and glazed in a savory sweet sauce that was unique and more delicious than I could possibly describe. \r \r I finished my meal with the chocolate souffle which they served in a classic style pouring chocolate sauce right in the center. How divine! \r \r The four of us spent nearly $500 on one meal but it was well worth it. This was one of the best meals of my life and I savored every bite. I will be back for more. Pros: Everything was delicious and perfect! Cons: Pricey but worth it more

Arr. 10/26/2006

Great way to see an aquarium, with the sunken ship wreck theme and all. Sure we've all seen sharks and underwater fishies before, but this is Vegas baby; they do it different here! Comes with free audio tour and everything. more

Yum! 10/22/2006

We had the pleasure of dining here on our honeymoon last week and were blown away. From the moment you arrive you're treated superbly, the decorations are lovely and most importantly, the food is wonderful. We started out with some delicious champagne (if only we could remember what kind it was), crab cakes, bbq pork, soup, prawns... just perfect. Dinner was spicy beef, fried rice, and large prawns with the most flavor we've ever experienced. We were just hoping we could eat it all but there was no way. Dessert was even more amazing. Cherry gelato, sweet cake, drunk cherries... and more. We can't wait to visit this little gem again. Romantic, impressive, just worth the money! Pros: even the bathrooms were delightful! Cons: make reservations and you're good to go more

Is Puck becoming the Chef Boy-ar-dee of Vegas? 10/8/2006

Puck now has a restaurant everywhere in Vegas, it seems, even at the airport! We went to Lupo before Rock Star karaoke and had an okay meal. It was good, not great, which seems to be the trend for the Puckster joints these days (we had a similar experience at Spago at the Forum Shops). The incredients taste fresh enough, but they're not imaginative enough. We had gnocchi and meatballs, a smallish portion. Salad of butter lettuce and radichio, okay. Goat cheese pizza that was okay, nothing special. The wine list is long and not descriptive, and our server couldn't answer any questions about it, so we ordered a so-so bottle. Overall, we paid more than $100 for a mediocre meal. You can do better in Vegas. We also think Puck can do better. The atmosphere here is nice, though. You can sit out in front of the restaurant and people watch. Pros: Good people watching atmosphere Cons: Average food, a little pricey for lack of imagination more

Worst Chinese Food I've Ever Had 4/24/2006

I went to this restaurant with the intent of having a nice dinner out for my last night on vacation with four friends. Between us, we ordered four different dishes, and each was the worst representation of standard Chinese dishes I've ever had. And what's worse is that the prices were ridiculous. The atmosphere was lovely and the waitstaff was attentive, but it's SO not worth going to without decent food. more

User review by toroishan 3/25/2006

The decor and chinas used was very artistic and even though it is a fine dining restaurant it feels very relaxing to dine in there. Great rib-eye steak but other dishes were just okay. the desserts are very creative, artistic, interesting and delicious to eat. oh btw, there are always extra charges for steaks, caviar or souffle. Overall this meal worth the money. One thing worth noting is that even though we arrived 10 minutes late, we were sitted right away. Pros: service, artistic, atmosphere Cons: average lobster dish more
