Editorial review from Citysearch 9/21/2012

I got a new insurance and had to change dentists. I selected the office because its closest to my house. What a nice surprise! The front desk was very helpful and took the time to explain how my new insurance works before I arrived for my appointment. Everyone there is so nice and polite. The hygienist was gentle during my hour-long cleaning and helped calm me since I'm such a wreck when it comes to going to the dentist. I needed a crown because the dr found a big crack in my tooth. I was able to see it with the camera that she used. Luckily, my crown was taken care of the same day. I was surprised that I had NO pain at all when the numbness wore off. I would definetly recommed Magnolia Dental and am happy to have found a nice office. more

Dedicated, honest, affordable 4/20/2012

Dental Partners has been serving South Florida for over 23 years.  We strive to meet or exceed your expectations every single day ..... one person at a time.  Our approach to your dental health is a  proactive approach as opposed to a reactive approach.  Patients routinely arrive to our offices with dental health problems which could have been easily avoided by simple measures.  For many reasons ranging from fear, finances, time, insurance, and misconceptions;  patient's problems turn from simple and economical solutions  into expensive, complicated and uncomfortable  issues.  At Dental Partners, taking the necessary time to review your oral health carefully is our priority.  By using the most advanced radiographs, intraoral cameras and educational videos;  we enable you to completely understand your oral health condition and participate in individualizing the best course of dental treatment.\r Everyday we  educate our patients on the best ways to improve their overall health.  Even so, there are many misconceptions our patients have shared with us.  The most common challenges are the following:\r \r 1. ""My cavities and old worn out fillings don't hurt.... can we wait to fix them?""\r \r We have always taken our patient's oral health very serious.  Many times patients find themselves in very expensive dental procedures due to a reactive mentality as opposed to a proactive one.  With time, problems in our mouth WILL NOT get better.  Unfortunately,  the only consequences are that they  get worse, more expensive and more uncomfortable.  Therefore, we are your partners in  combating  expensive and complicated procedures by proactively treating these problems before they get worse.\r \r 2. ""  I feel overwhelmed with the work I need, there is no way I can get this done"" \r \r   We can formulate a plan of action that will get you back on track.  Focusing on major problems first gives us time to address less urgent matters in the near future.  We will customize a dental and financial plan that can achieve both a good dental health and a financially affordable plan for each patient.\r \r 3. ""I just need a simple cleaning.""\r \r Most patients are good about maintaining their oral health by having routine cleanings every 6 months.   Unfortunately,  some patients for reasons stated above have not had the opportunity to maintain their oral health on a regular basis.  Due to this challenge, many patients require more extensive cleaning in order to restore their oral health.  Common sense will tell us that a person who has not had a cleaning for several years will require a more extensive cleaning than someone who has had regular cleaning every 6 months.\r \r 4 ."" My dental insurance covers my treatment at 100%.""\r \r We know how stressful it can be to understand your insurance coverage.  That is why we are committed to not only helping you understand the dental treatment that is needed for your oral condition but to also help you understand how your coverage works. We will always strive to maximize your  insurance benefits but will never let it compromise your health based solely on an individual's insurance coverage.\r \r We hope that our mission and goals has been informative in helping you make an educated decision about choosing your oral health  partner.\r more

Criminals 5/13/2011

These people are criminals and will tell you that you need x amount of procedures or else your dental health will just get worse. Don't believe them. Do yourself a favor and don't even go to them at all. They will scam you and overcharge your no matter what insurance you have. Avoid at all costs! more

Dental Equivalent of a Shady Mechanic 4/13/2011

Stay away. This place is a scam. 1) They refuse to correct poorly done work: I had several cavities filled. In less than six months a couple had fallen out. They ""offered"" to let another dentist fix it for hundreds of dollars more, or I could wait until the dentist who did the work returned from maternity leave. I opted to wait. She returned for ONE DAY. The office manager called to schedule that appointment for that one day and was rude when I told her that I had to work on that monday morning. She said ""well that's the only time she can do the work."" I don't appreciate attitude and rudeness when I have already spent hundreds on poorly done work. That dentist never returned. 2) It's office policy to up-sell unnecessary treatments. There is a antibacterial rinse that they make all patients do, but of course it isn't covered by insurance. ""Oh but we only charge $80 [or whatever it was], while other dentists charge more."" I said ""no thanks"", but it was an office policy that I must comply with. 3) they refuse to release my x-rays. I would like to take the x-rays to a reputable doctor but they won't release them. I now pay out of pocket for an honest and reputable dentist, rather than use my insurance there. So sad. I don't normally write reviews, but I'm incensed about the $500+ I spent. I am a teacher, single income family, scraping to get by, and I feel like they stole from me. I asked several other teacher at my school what dentists they visit in the area, and another reported the same problems with Magnolia Dental. Stay away. If you only have one other dentist on your insurance plan, go to the other dentist. I don't care if they're a hundred miles away. It's worth the cost of gas to avoid these people. Brush and floss daily, folks! more

Do not recommend 7/23/2010

I don't normally post reviews but I think it is important when it comes to a dentist or doctor. I have not had a good experience at Magnolia. I believe that they take every opportunity to sell you something that you don't need. Also, I think they overcharge you for the services that you do get. They do things that are not needed perhaps to boost their revenues. Also, I have had some bad experiences there where they replaced a filling and it got infected and nearly cost me the tooth. They did not offer to fix it for free and it was very painful. Pros: Clean Cons: Costly, Salesy, Low quality more

not only they do teeth, they do hair and nails too!!! 8/16/2009

I went in for a check up and met the doctor. she was fantastic. she educated me in what I needed and why I needed it. I believed her because she pulled out a camera and showed me inside of my mouth. the assistant there was awesome also. the guy there was sweet and kept letting me know the doctor was on her way. the lady assistant that assisted in doing my fillings was super nice to me. then I went to the hygienist and got my teeth cleaned. I need a deep cleaning and understood why I needed it. but when she did it, it was so gentle. no offence to Chinese people but I think having a Chinese work on your body or teeth is always awesome!!!! They are just the best. Now its time to pay for the day. I go up to the front desk and I see curling irons, sprits bottles, gel and all sorts of hair products on the table. The girl with the orange hair was getting her hair done by the girl with the dark black hair. It look like she was getting it straighten. I wanted to tell her to do mines because I needed my hair straightened. From the window where they take payments I could see their computer and on the screen was this game that my daughter loves playing from face book. I think its called yo-ville. Lol it was funny to me because even after the lady assistant told them that a patient is at the window, they still didn’t want to move from their positions to assist me. The girl that set up my appointment looked embarrass for them. The whole time I was up there, the lady that does the scheduling was moving up and down looking very busy with phones and talking to other patients in the waiting room, while those two are playing with hair!!! Oh the best part is when the phone started ringing they told the other girl to get it. I felt bad for the girl. The sad part is one of those girls is the manager. So who the hell am I suppose to go complain to? Other than that I was so impress with the whole office (except those two girls). Great place to go to if you don’t mind those two girls (lol)\r Pros: best place to straighten your hair Cons: i feel bad for the other employees more
