Best Pizza 12/17/2011

I was back in Ma in October. I had not been to Lynnwood pizza since 1973 when I was 10. I found my way there like I had been there yesterday. It was and still is my favorite pizza handsdown. I wish they shipped frozen pizza's to Las Vegas. The cafe had not changed one bit and the Pizza was out of this world. The people were friendly and when I go back East next time , Lynnwood will be one of my first stops. My siter like a similar pizza place in Falmouth, she lives in Avon. I kept telling her how close she was to Lynnwood. She is hooked and remebers it from when we were kids more

Lynwood Bar 10/11/2009

I've heard that the Linwood can be busy at times and it takes about 35 minutes for a pizza. I can accept that. That's unavoidable when people like your pizza and you have the regulars who come in to hang out, have a pizza and drink a few brews. Heard the parking can be kind of tight and I can accept that, too. However rude waitstaff is not okay and the Lynwood owners need to do something about that. There's just no excuse for an employee being rude when you walk in the door and ask them where to pick up the pizzas. I've never been there before and wasn't sure. You would have thought I asked this woman for a million bucks. Geez, sorry I bothered you with a question that you found stupid. Needless to say I won't be returning to the Lynwood since I don't have to put up with a b*tchy attitude from a snotty employee when I'm spending $50. on pizzas. Thought I'd treat my family to several different pizzas since I had heard their pizza was good. Next time that happens it won't be Lynwood pizza. It's not okay that rude people work at the Lynwood. The proprietors should get rid of people who are miserable and take it out on customers. If they can't handle the job they should find something else to do. Pros: Pizza is good Cons: waitstaff rude more

Pizza heaven 9/21/2009

I grew up on Lynnwood pizza my Grandparents used to own nthe little store across the street and my folks always bought take out pizza , I always went with my Dad to pick it up and on the way home we used to burn our mouths because we could not resist the smell . Even now my mouth is watering just remembering the best pizza in the world . My Aunt Audrey and Uncle Jack always brought some frozen pizza's when they came to visit us in California / or Seattle because they know how much I crave them . What a treat , I looked forward to those pizza's almost as much as their visit , and of course that is the first place and last place I visit when I'm back home on a trip . Look out Lynwood I'm bringing the family in mid October and I'm going to feast on the best pizza in the world . I always say it is the crust that makes the big difference but the sauce is just right and the right amount of toppings ( just got to try the baked bean one also) plain cheese and onion are my fav's. we are bringing the 4th generation to the Lynwood for pizza and Lucas Jack loves to eat! bet he'll love the pizza just like his Great Uncle for whom he is named Pros: best pizza ever anywhere Cons: too far from Seattle more

Great Pizza, great price 8/30/2009

The Lynwood ""since 1949"" has the tastiest little pizza's around. Being from Quincy, I've had Dee Dees, Alumni and Town Spa, all good but not as good. The atmosphere is gritty and dated (1949), but it grows on you the more you go. Love the brusk wait staff, especially when I try to order a microbrew. Put the same staff and attitude at Faneuil Hall and they would make millions. Pros: Tastiest little pizzas around more

Best in Massachusetts 8/1/2009

Fabulous first bite, like no other pizza in MA. In the metro Detroit area we have Jets for a magnificent Hawaiian pizza and Buddy's for a great square pan pizza. Massachusetts somehow has ho-hum pizza, but then there was Lynwood. Saw Lynwood on the Phantom Gourmet and put it on the list to try it sometime. Took another couple out to dinner and check the place out, busy on Saturday & lots of carry out orders. It took a year before I had the courage to try the baked bean pizza, WOW it sure is a winner! Who would believe a bean pizza could taste this good. Five stars all the way. We drive down once a month for our pizza ""fix"". Maybe it's good that we don't live in the neighborhood. Simple is good. Pros: You'll dream about this pizza after the first bite. Cons: Too far away from home. more

Good, not great, bar pizza 5/25/2009

After having read a lot about Lynnwood Cafe, we tried it last night. We ordered two pies - mushroom, and onion-pepper. The pizzas were served nice and hot - and were very tasty. However, the amount of toppings were a little less than what we desired. Pros: tasty bar pizza Cons: location, seating more

BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD 12/31/2008

Hands down this pizza and establishment are the best you will find. This pizza has a place in my family like no other restaurant. Unlike lots of other on here I grew up in Quincy and our family drove there almost every week to eat in or pick up our favorite pizza. My Grandmother loves to tell stories of when they were poor and would take my Father and his sibs there for big treat. Love this place, best pizza you can find anywhere, Town Spa is a joke compared to this, there pizza is the knock off!!! more

Pretty good pizza.. 10/15/2008

I usually go to the Town Spa more than the Lynwood, and both pizzas are very similar. I have to say i like the Town Spa better, but i love the atmosphere and the pizza in Lynwoods. I don't know why people are saying its dirty, though. Definatly avoid on Fridays and Saturdays, and sometimes you will call and you get the busy signal, and thats because they keep their phone off the hook (they get more orders sometimes than they can keep up with). But overall, its pretty good. Pros: GREAT pizza, great atmosphere, good service Cons: Can get extremely busy and packed on weekends more

Best pizza around! 8/20/2008

I was raised on the Lynwood's pizza, I grew up just up the street. Yup, the place is dated; nope, it isn't dirty, just time worn, and I find the waitstaff, when not under seige, to be just fine, thank you. Others, including Town Spa in Stoughton, have similar pizza, which may or may not have been copied from the Lynwood (which has been around since the '40s), but for those of us Townies, you can't beat the Lynwood's Bean Special, which is a lot better than it might sound. The plain cheese pizza is the best. When I was in High School, when the Lynwood closed for a vacation, we'd go to the Town Spa, and when the Town Spa closed for vacation, their patrons would come to the Lynwood! So, if its free refills you want, or bright, shiny lights, or brand new furniture you prefer, then this isn't the place for you. But, if its great pizza, cold beer, and friendly faces you desire, this is the place for you. Just be prepared to wait in line on Friday and Saturday nights, especially during softball and bowling league seasons. Pros: Great pizza, cold beer, good drinks Cons: Sometimes too crowded more

Fair pizza - a local favorite but not worth it for anyone else 3/30/2008

A few of our friends from Randolph told us we had to try Lynwood Cafe. So we did. What an overall disappointment. The pizza (which is the only food they serve there) is typical pub pizza. It's good, but nothing special. Apparently, Lynwood is to Randolph what Town Spa is to Stoughton. And just like Town Spa there are no free refills on the soda and no credit cards accepted. The restaurant itself is dated, poorly lit and dirty. The waitress was less than accomodating. When the pizzas arrived, we were given these wafer-thin paper plates about 5"" round. When we asked for knives and forks, we were told they have no knives (I found out later that they do, but they only have a few - go figure). The pizza was tasty and had plenty of cheese. Tthe crust was bread-like and slightly crispy, and the sauce pretty good as well. From what I can figure, people raised on this pizza seem to have a cult-like fasination for it. For anyone else, don't waste your time. Pros: Good pizza Cons: Dirty, bad service, only pizza on the menu, no free refills on soda, no credit cards more

cheap knock-off pizza 3/18/2008

i live in stoughton and have grown up in with town spa pizza. lynwood is a knock off of the incredable town spa.and should be taken off the pizza grid Pros: nothing Cons: everthing more

Horrible Knock-off 3/18/2008

The Lynnwood Cafe is a horrible knock off of the amazing townspa pizza. They stole the pizza recipe from the Town Spa and tries to recreate their pizza. It is a HORRIBLE replica. T-Spa all the way! Cons: everything more

YOU, VE TRIED THE REST... NOW TRY THE BEST !!!!! 1/21/2008

Nothing Beats a Lynwood Cafe Pizza. Nothing!!! I,ve been eating them since back when I was a little boy and I,m 50 years old now. The place is an Icon. "" FIVE STARS FOR LYNWOOD CAFE "" Pros: Best Pizza Cons: Tight Parking more

My Thursday Ritual 6/20/2007

I have been going to Lynwood Cafe every Thursday for I don't know how long. They still have the best pizza around. Everyone I know goes there and loves it. It's a pizza I could never get sick of and look forward to thursdays every week. Cons: parking more

Best pizza I've ever had!! 10/29/2006

My parents went to Lynwood on their second date in 1949. They continued going there at every important occasion in their lives, and they took me and my siblings along. I've been eating Lynwood since I've been small and it's the best tasting pizza there is. I've travelled all over the USA and Europe my entire adult life and I love trying the ""best pizza"" in the areas I go to. They are usually very good, but none can compare to Lynwood. The crust is crispy and not too doughy, the cheese is great and the sauce is out of this world! We usually get it to go and then freeze some. This place is certainly worth the trip!! Pros: Great Pizza Cons: Long Waits more

Little Pizza, Big Taste 9/11/2006

This little pizza packs a wallup! This place is a cute local cafe so if you're tired of paying $10 for a sandwich and $5 for a beer you gotta go. A little hard to find if your out of town so make sure you follow the directions from mapquest or google but once you get there it's worth the drive. The place gets packed on the weekends so get there off hours if you don't want to wait. But even if you do it's worth it. The pizza's are just 10"" so order one for each person. The crust was crisp & thin with a buttery taste, the portions of toppings are ample and the sauce is superb. The staff was friendly and prompt, just be patient since each pizza is made to order. Most locals get take out and get 3-5 pizza at a time! The best pizza I tasted in Boston. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in town. Pros: Cute, Local ambience Cons: Small, long wait at busy times more

Lynwood Cult Member 7/27/2006

I am definitely a member of the Lynwood cult. I did grow up in Randolph, and eating at Lynwood was our Sunday night ritual. As an adult, I like to think that I have discriminating tastes when it comes to good food, and I enjoy a fancy wood-fired grilled pizza with fancy toppings as much as the next person. It's not that I don't know what good pizza is - it is just that Lynwood pizza is a small, delicious pie that is absolutely my favorite. I usually order a well-done onion. The onion is chopped in tiny pieces and it sorta bakes right into the pie, adding a sweetness. I live in Boston and every once in a while when I get the Lynwood craving I order the pizza on the phone, and by the time I get there (40-50 min later at rush hour) it is ready, and I eat it in the car on the way home. Obviously I'm crazy, but there's nothing else like it. more
