Best

I was back in Ma in October. I had not been to Lynnwood pizza since 1973 when I was 10. I found my way there like I had been there yesterday. It was and still is my favorite pizza...

Worst

A few of our friends from Randolph told us we had to try Lynwood Cafe. So we did. What an overall disappointment. The pizza (which is the only food they serve there) is typical pu...

Was the best in the 50's and still is 1/5/2006

Started going there when I was 15 (1955) price was a bargain then at $.45 and is still a bargin today. At that age we couldn't go into the bar area so we would wait in the parking lot and they would flick the side light on and off when the pizza was ready. We would pick them up and pay for them at the side door. You have to taste them to become a true believer. Pros: Price, Taste, Draft Beer Cons: What? None more

New York Taster 1/4/2006

I go to school in the famed Little Italy of the Bronx, with some of the 'best pizza in the world' at my fingertips, and I still crave Lynwood everytime I go home for break (and I live near Providence.) NY Pizza is amazing, don't get me wrong, but there is something about lynwood's small, wicked hot, and tasty cheese pizzas that i can't resist.... simply my favorite. Cons: wait. more

only the best 11/7/2005

lynnwood pizza ,what else is there no one does it better simply the best in the country Pros: great taste, decor, bar more

WORTH tRAVELING FOR 5/18/2005

The pizza at Lynwood is honestly one of the best Pizza's I ever had. I no longer live in New England, but when ever I do go back to the south shore...that has to be one of the stops I make!!!! The Quality of the pizza and the price ... it's unbelievable! more

The best pizza anywhere 5/16/2005

I haven't lived in Randolph for over 40 years and Lynwood pizza is still the best pizza anywhere. We go back there about once a year and load up on half cooked, unsliced pizzas that we take home to CA and freeze so we can eat them throughout the year. I've brought my husband and children with me so they can see what I'm talking about! They love it, too. Pros: the taste, the price Cons: crowded at meal times more

Looks can be deceiving... 4/26/2005

This hole in the wall, located in a residential area, is somewhat of a secret, and we would kinda like to keep it this way. Add 5-10 minutes to whatever they tell you on the phone when your pizza will be ready. And be prepared to be disappointed every July when they close down for 1-2 weeks for a companywide summer vacation. The ambience is non-existent, and the waitresses are overworked and a little testy, but if you don't take it personally, you can usually pull a smile out of them! As for the pizza.... THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH!!! I have not found another pizza place to duplicate what you will find at the Lynwood. Plus, they still have an old coin-operated bowling machine to play while you wait! Pros: Good Parking, Priced fair, Draught Beer Cons: Crowded, Loud more

lynwood mystery 4/26/2005

I have been to the Lynwood a few times in my 20 years living a few miles away. I agree with a previous review that said people must love the pizza 'cuz they , basically, don't know better. If you have only had an item in a certain manner while growing up , you ,of course, learn to enjoy it. IE: Many people love fried Liver ! (but most do not) The pizza at the Lynwood is ""cheap"". It is not only inexpensive, but ""cheap"" tasting as well. I have enjoyed ""good"" pizza in many locations in this great country and ""great"" pizza at many as well. The Lynwood has neither. Pros: inexpensive Cons: poor taste more

Consistent 4/26/2005

Lynwood is a classic pizza and place. I dont believe anything has changed ever. Great little neiborhood place where everyony is welcome. Pizza is excellant, not alot of variety, but what they do they do very well. no oily pizza here, wake up and have it for breakfast no need to heat it it just really good stuff. Try it you'll like it!!! Pros: great pizza, cheap cocktails Cons: ned more variety more

The Cult of Lynwood 11/16/2004

I lived less than a mile from the Lynwood for 2yrs. The fanatical following described by reviewers is no exaggeration. Mobbed on Friday nights. Crazy. Just pizza. No salad, no fries. I think maybe they have some little bags of potato chips behind the bar. Pizza is *OK*. Not traditional NY or Chicago style. Kinda like really good frozen pizza. I can see why kids love it. One reviewer complained that the cheese has a strong taste that lingers. Its not the cheese, its the grease they spray the pan with. The pizza isnt greasy, but the crust *is* cooked in a pan sprayed with grease. After a couple of slices you start to taste it. Pizza is OK, but fanatical following can only be explained by general lack of good pizza in the area. That and childhood nostalgia, cause it is definately good pizza for kids. more

NOTHING beats Lynwood's pizza! 8/2/2004

I grew up around the corner from Lynwood's. It was a ritual from childhood to adulthood (60's - 90's) to have their pizza almost every Friday night (just like the rest of Randolph!). When I moved to Ohio in '95, my biggest regret was no longer being near Lynwood's! I coerced my dad to bring some out to me - he did, but only 2! And only one time. Now that we live in New Zealand, it's only but a memory. When I try hard, I can still taste it ... YUM! No matter where in the world I've tried pizza, NONE can even hold a candle to Lynwood's! Anyone feel like flying some over?! :) Pros: Yum! Yum! Yum!, Affordable!, Yum! Cons: , Crowded, Busy phone lines. more

Flashback, Best Pizza 3/24/2004

Haven't been there in a couple of years, but will be heading to Randolph just for the pizza. Having grown up in the town it was worth both the wait and drive to get their pizza although many other places were closer and less wait. After moving away, anytime back in town, gotta go to Lynwood. Haven't found another like it. If you've never had a Lynwood Pizza, you've never really had pizza!! Pros: taste, price Cons: , wait, pros outweigh cons more

silvernick 12/11/2003

I have been eating pizza all over the U.S.A. since the mid 40`s and have never found any as good as Lynwood`s. The consistency is amazing to me. Pros: inexpensive, consistency, good draft beer Cons: no waiting area, small parking area more

I still miss Lynwood's 9/4/2003

I moved from Randolph to Florida in 1985 and I still miss their pizza. You can't get anything like it down here. Everytime I'm in the Boston area I make it a point to get one of their pies!!!! more

Pizza a la mode' 4/26/2003

Every other pizza joint can eat their hearts out. The Lynnwood will never be excelled. It can be equalled by few. Pros: Pizza, Cheap Prices, Aroma Cons: Parking after 5, Packed as a rule, Thursday Nights more

lynwood,a slice of heaven! 3/7/2003

you just can't beat the flavor, it's small...so when ordering one person can eat a whole pizza.it gets very busy and not a lot of space.be ready to wait 30-40 min. after 6:00pm. Pros: inexpensive, flavor, the crust Cons: crowded, no salad, bar more

the very best 1/29/2003

lynwood pizza is the best pizza south of boston and them some. No matter how many chefs leave and go to another place, they will never be able to compete with their pizza. It is out of this world. I have tried every pizza one this list and none come close to them. Keep up the good work. 45 minute to an 1 1/2 hr is well worth the wait. Pros: good food, low prices, never changes taste Cons: to small, long wait, who cares it's good more

the best pizza... 1/5/2003

the best pizza ever..don't look for a lot of frills though cash only and the waitstaff isn't exactly 4 star they've been there since the beginning of time .but if you want great pizza this is the place more

Hometown 1/2/2003

If you grew up on the South Shore in MA, then you know of Lynwood Pizza. This is the best pizza. I am leaving out of state now but everytime I come home, I stop in for a Lynwood Hamburger pizza. If you are looking for a romantic dinner, this is not the place to go but if you want great pizza. This is your spot. I think that some of the waitresses and bartenders have been working there for longer then I have been born. more
