I came to Kid Smiles because my daughter has a fear of the dentist, and often feels claustrophobic and doesn't like having xrays taken etc. I hoped that being a 'kid's' dentist, the doctors would be kid friendly and warm. Well, nothing but cold and rude from the minute I walked in the door. The dentist we had was Dr. Oliviera and we had a few hygenists the couple of times we were there. They have no patience, no tlc at all. And the last straw was they wanted to anesthetize my daughter to have her teeth cleaned because she feels anxious! They don't give kids a good secure feeling, they would rather my daughter was just out cold so they didn't have to deal with her, than to try to alleviate her anxiety with a nice bedside manner. Listen, having video games and movies on the ceiling doesn't make you a pediatric dentist. A warm personality and comforting doctor with skills to deal with children's different personalities is a good place to start. Would NOT recommend. more

They do not allow parents in the room during examinations or procedures. What are they trying to hide? All other dentists allow it and actually encourage it with pediatrics. When my daughter requested that I be in the room during her first filling, they outright said no and that ""it was policy to not allow it"". The dentist was downright rude and stated ""parents coddle their kids too much"" and if your child continues to be anxious, perhaps she needs counseling. EXCUSE ME?!?! Other negatives: They ONLY schedule procedures during the morning which means your child will miss school. They push the use of ""pre-meds: aka Valium on children that may be a little anxious at the dentist. They use gas a lot as well, which is not typical at most dentists that I've seen. I was shocked by how many poor reviews this dentist received on a moms group for cape cod. Definitely would NOT recommend the dentist as she can be abrasive, rude and condescending. I guess she forgot that WE hire her for a service and if she doesn't provide the service well, WE can hire someone else. We are the boss, not her. She just lost yet another family! The only positive is the hygenists are very friendly and kind and the tv's in the ceiling. more

I had an awful experience here. My child was nervous as is was his first visit to the dentist and after the way he was treated today I'll be lucky to ever get him to stand near a dentist's chair again, let alone sit in it. The dentist is certainly knowledgeable but her bedside manner leaves a LOT to be desired, especially for someone working with small children:-( more
