Unpleasant Staff and Dirty Restrooms 11/10/2008

I have enjoyed Logan's since it came to Nashville several years ago. Yesterday we went to Logan's to celebrate my granddaughter's and I birthday's. The food and service was okay. I wanted a little something special for my granddaughter but we were just embrassed. We were asked to stand up while the server announced to the dining room Logan's ""don't sing"" and blah, blah but how about a great big ""Yeah Ha"". That's it! I would rather had a sweet smile and a slice of cake with a happy birthday from our server. Then to make matters worse we went to the restroom after eating and it was a mess. I made the comment inside the restroom to my daugher and granddaugther ""this is disgusting"". My husband and grandson were waiting outside the restroom door when an employee walked outside telling other staff, ""This is disgusting, what do you expect - it's the _____"" (this site won't let me repeat what was said). I was sick and heart broken. I have always loved Logan's for a reasonable priced meal and a good place to take my family for celebrations. Pros: good food Cons: rude servers and not birthday friendly more

Used To Be Novel 9/26/2008

This used to be a fun place to eat, but now it seems fairly average and always noisy. The food is alright, and the portions are ample...however, after reading the former server's review, I'm apt to write that I will not be returning any time soon. It was rather dirty, and the noise is overwhelming. If you're in the mood for a great steak at an excellent price, eat at Saltgrass...Logan's is just mediocre. Pros: Price (but you get what you pay for); parking Cons: Servers are overworked and distracted; noisy; crowded more

Warning from Former Server: AVOID 7/18/2008

I was a server at Logan's on Elliston Place, Nashville, and as a former employee, I would warn all future and current customers to steer as far away as possible. The environment is cheap and dirty, the kitchen is not clean, the serving staff is constantly at odds with the management, and the management is incompetent. I have personally seen rodents run along the walls and insects in the food. Furthermore, racism is rampant, the ineptitude of the supervisors drastically effects the quality of service, and the welfare of both server and guest are absolutely secondary to ""making a buck."" Having seen the internal workings of this restaurant, I could never recommend it for an evening out. more

Great Place for Cheap Steaks 6/14/2007

This is a great place for students on a budget. The portion sizes are large and the rolls are the best in town. When your meal comes, ask for more rolls and the waiter will box you up an entire to-go box of them!!! Love this place, friendly service, the waiters knew when to interrupt politely. Pros: great location to vandy, friendly staff, great value Cons: peanuts on the floor. more

Great food, better service. Great happening location, wish there was more parking. I can't get enough of this place! The menu is large and impressive, even my kids love it! Pros: Service. Cons: Parking. more

Comfortable atmosphere, delicious food 8/21/2006

I go to Vanderbilt University and am always looking for good, inexpensive restaurants. I love Logan's. The food is great, especially their amazing yeast rolls (which are quite possibly the best rolls I've ever tasted). The portions are always very large, the waiters are very friendly without being overly-friendly and creepy or fake, and the food is very well-cooked. I especially recommend the grilled vegetables, the steamed broccoli, and, of course, the steaks. Service is fast, although it can be hard to be seated as it is crowded on weekends. Pros: Comfortable ambience, quick and good service, delicious food Cons: little parking, very crowded on weekends more

Highly Recommended by Out-of-Town Guests 6/5/2005

My husband and I travel often, about 300 miles, to take our daughter to Vanderbilt Hospital. Logan's Roadhouse was recommended by the Hotel we usually stay. We don't eat out often, and are cautious about where we eat due to cost constraints related to travel for medical reasons. This truley was the best Steak House and Logan's we have ever ate at. The service and quality of food was high-end fine-dining and the value was exceptional. We have ate other Steak Houses in Nashville, some are 'good'.... this is the best!!! I look forward to going to Logan's when we are in Nashville, there is not even another Logan's that has yet to compare. My husband and I both agree, you may hit it on a good night, but we keep going back and have consistant feedback. Pros: Exceptional Service, Kid Friendly, PERFECT Steak Cons: Homeless wanderers more

Mr. J.B. Skierka 4/15/2003

I stayed at the Hamption Inn across the street for about 2 months. I spent a lot of time there, and found the service the best and the food great. The rolls were really good. Thanks for making us feel at home, while we were there. JB & Gwen Skierka Spokane, Wa. Pros: Great Food, Good people, Loved the peanuts. more

The place 1/13/2003

Peanuts, beer, TV, loaded baked potato, good steak, and a place where you can relax. Not white tablecloth but if you go there expecting that....reconsider! Always go to the bar for fast service. more

Good food, Good times 1/13/2003

Logan's is by far my one of my favorite places to go when visiting Nashville. We always enjoy the friendly atmosphere. The yeast rolls that are served are by the best I've ever tasted. If there was a Logan's in Maine we'd be eating there once a week! more
