Come as You Are to this Neighborhood Pub 3/31/2010

Located along the bar-intensive strip of N. Highland Avenue just off Ponce, Limerick Junction is a super cozy and laid back bar attracting folks of all stripes. Being an Irish bar, expect a beautiful pro-pour of Guinness, a smooth shot of Jameson, cheap (and good) Irish fare and some on-the-house DIY popcorn service. Take some friends and grab some pints at this joint where you can relax and not worry about being part of a scene. Pros: Unpretentious, eclectic crowd - Fun Irish Theme Cons: Locals tend to avoid the weekend crowds more

Unpretentious enjoyable Atlanta pub 1/19/2010

This is my favorite pub in the ATL. I've been coming here for 12 years...the friendly and attentive bar staff, excellent seating, best Guinness pour in Atlanta, great regulars, entertaining decor (leave a foreign paper currency on their wall when you leave), and Chris Ricker (imho, a phenomenal entertainer, he loves to involve the crowd). If I were closer to this pub I would likely be in every evening. In short, a wonderful place to let your hair down and RELAX. Pros: Chris Ricker, Guinness, bar staff, atmosphere Cons: Lack of car parking, small restrooms. more

Fun Live Music 1/2/2010

A great place to let your hair down and sing along with Irish pub songs. My boyfriend and I enjoy it immensely. They really need better ventilation though it is so smokey i there that even though I don't smoke myself all of my clothes smell after an evening in the bar. Pros: Entertaining Cons: Very Smokey more

Love Limerick Junction 12/17/2009

Love Irish music? Love Irish booze? Love the Highlands? You'll love Limerick Junction.... I certainly do! Pros: Classic Irish pub Cons: NOTHING! more

Fun all night long 4/9/2009

Went to this bar for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had a fantastic time. The atmosphere in the bar was very friendly, just what you'd expect from a bar in Ireland. The live music was varied and frequently involved the audience adding to the fun. The bar staff, while always busy, were friendly and kept up with the drink orders. The icing on the cake for me was a group of Scots (who I am told are regulars) who made me laugh and sing so hard it physically hurt. All in all a great bar for great music and great fun. Pros: Great atmosphere Cons: Can get a bit crowded more

Enjoyable Thursday night 6/14/2007

Had a great time while looking for a place to watch the Finals, the Braves game, AND live music WITH good food and brews. My friend was ordering Bass on tap, which ran out, so the bartender brought his next pick ""on the house"". After Bass was re-tapped he then brought out one ""on the house"" as well all with a smile having us feel like one of his close friends. Chris Ricker played and was amazing, conversational, and interacted very well with the audience -- laughing and playing everyone's suggestions as well as some of his favorites. It wasn't too crowded and I really felt like I got away from the whole trendy college scene. To think!?!? right in the middle of Va.Highlands and NOT trendy??? nice. This place is definitely going to be one of my new favorite hang outs. Pros: Food, Brew, Live Musicians more

an ok place to grab a pint 3/27/2006

first off the cover on weekends is $5. why does this bar charge a cover? i'd rather just tip the performer like any other bar with a ""house"" performer and the performer would actually of gotten more then $5 from me. pretty much a typical bar except for the live irish music, which is good and people in the bar join in which creates a fun atmosphere. there is the usual beer selection. i've never had their food so i cant comment on that. i go here once in a while, but its never my first choice for a bar to visit in the highlands. Pros: irish music Cons: cover charge more

My favorite bar in Atlanta 9/22/2005

I LOVE Limerick Junction! I've been a regular for a couple of years now and its just a great place to hang out, drink beer and sing Irish songs. When i go its usually in the late afternoon, so there's no problem finding a seat. On the weekends though...i recommend getting there b/f 9pm if you want a seat. Also I highly recommend going to see Chris Ricker, who plays there a lot. Pros: atmosphere, beer, cheap, good food Cons: can get crowded, parking more

Best Damn Pub in Highlands 10/23/2002

If I had to pick one bar to go to in the Highlands, this one would be it. Though it does get crowded, that only adds to the atmosphere of the place. The wait staff is very friendly and is attentive without being pushy, the drinks are priced reasonably, and the music is fantastic. Even on a rainy Tuesday night there are enough people to show up and make this place fun. The live music is almost always Irish folk singers (not the lame kind), and they always encourage crowd participation and singing. Go to this place if you want to be guarunteed a great time. And don't miss the free popcorn in the back! Pros: Live music, Free Popcorn, Atmosphere Cons: Sometimes TOO Crowded more

A pub for everyone 9/27/2002

The limerick is a great neighborhood bar. We love the entire staff! They know all the regulars by name. It's fun any day of the week. Happy hour is quiet and a good time to talk with freinds. Weekend nights it's a good place to meet people and listen to a live band. Pros: staff, value, seating Cons: smokey after 9:00pm, loud on weekends more

Sassy Lasses 9/1/2002

Lots of neighborhood atmosphere, the best Guinness in town, and friendly, yet not cloying, sassy service. Pros: Guinness, service, great cheap food Cons: parking, buckhead weekends more
