Dr. Johnson is the greatest. Now I know why "anonymous" did not want to leave his or her name, he or she must work for another veterinarian in the area. I have taken my dogs to Dr. Johnson for every imaginable problem since he opened his practice, and he has always been wonderful. His charges are reasonable, and he always tells you how much a procedure will cost and the best and worse case scenario. He office is always busy, so that should speak for itself. I love Dr. Johnson, and I know he is a real animal lover because he donates his time to humane rescue efforts. more

Wish I Had taken our dog there sooner! We have a cavalier king charles named Max who was attacked by a pitbull on 11/28/09 being a saturday I scanned the phone book to find a vet open to get him to right away. We ended up taking him to Mayfield Vet Clinic. Max's front right leg was broken in two.. a high break..very close to the elbow joint.. The clinic put his cast on ..took it off after only a week.. put it back on.. talked about amputing his leg...we went through 8 weeks of weekly visits to the vet and had already racked up a $300 bill for a whole lot of nothing! Max got a secondary bacterial infection and the Vet clinic said.."well if he doesn't chew his own leg off..maybe it will heal itself....if not we have to amputate." and they sent us home..no medications..no nothing! Contrary to your ONLY other post, Lakeland Animal Hosp. is a very clean ,proficiant facility. Cost of pet care is no higher there than at any Quality Vets office. I have used Dr. Bert Johnson for over 20 years & found his services ALWAYS exceptional.\r I refuse to allow ANY vet outside of Doc Johnson crop my Dobies ears. My animals have received Quality care at an affordable cost for over 2 decades at Lakeland Animal Hospital. more

You won't need an appointment because there are hardly any patients waiting for treatment. Yet there are two vets and three assistants working here. How do they do it? You'll know when you get your bill! It's even $35 to bathe your small dog!\r \r The worst part is the mis-diagnosis, although the accuracy of the diagnosis will improve if you agree to $300 - $400 worth of tests even for a simple skin rash.\r \r Dr. Johnson is far from being a true animal lover. more
