Best

If you are looking for authentic Mexican food, prepared fresh, just like a Mexican Grandmother would make, then this is the place for you. Pros: Thumbs Up! Cons: None that...

Worst

Food : Tastes are fairly common, not exclusive. I thought the "Grandma's" dish I had was way over-priced for the sub-par taste-satisfaction it provided.

Sub-par / Just not good 1/28/2011

We recently ordered takeout. Got the Chicken Flautas which were TINY (i mean really really tiny- like a taquito) dry and flavorless, there were only 3 of them and they were $13. Seriously. We also got a Beef Burrito with "Grandma's Sauce". The beef was shredded because they don't even serve Carne Asada... what is mexican without asada? Despite that, the meat was at least moist but that was the ONLY thing inside the tortilla & the sauce tasted like it came from a poor cafeteria. Guacamole was fresh even if it had too much lime. The beans were from a can (or at least tasted like it). The chips were not homemade. The 3 salsas were: green - tomatillo-ish, cilantro, & a bit spicy, the best of the three; traditional red - tomato, onion and mush?, flavorless; & thicker red - which was ketchup with tabasco, and I challege someone to tell me it is different! Overall, these guys could spend a couple days in Southern California to at least get Mexican right. Disappointed. more

USED TO be a good place for Mexican food... 10/6/2006

My family and I had been long time patrons of this restaurant and it used to be our favorite. We had been frequenting this restaurant since the mid 90's so you know this review is not the result of merely one bad experience. Service is so unbelievably terrible. Water refills and chips/salsa refills are next to impossible to get during your meal. It's almost as if you are purposely being ignored. I've heard several changes in management could possibly be the result of the drastic changes in service. I would not recommend them to ANYONE! PROS: CONS: Poor Service ~ Would NOT Recommend more

Too expensive Mexican food 5/16/2006

The food here is no better than any other place, the biggest con is - its expensive and you have to wait quite a long time to pay for this expensive food. Drinks arent cheap either. more

My Favorite Mexican Food 5/10/2006

exican food is my favorite, and La Fiesta is at the top of my list. Others in the Bay Area hardly come close to La Fiestas flavors and food quality. Sauces are the thing here. My particular favorite is the green sauce served on the Fiesta Burrito, a very flavorful vegetarian item. The interior ambiance is bright and cheerful, and I like the fact that their location has a 'secret hole in the wall' feel off the main restaurant row. I was dismayed to read some of the harsher reviews here. OK - here's the thing - their hosts and servers can be a little flakey sometimes, especially if you come during prime weekend dinner hours - that's when this popular place is always packed. If it's a weekend, I'll try to arrive before 6:30 or after 8:30, and at those times the service always seems to run quite smoothly. Pros: great sauces, 4 salsas w/ chips, premium tequilas Cons: occasional confusion more

The Best Mexican in Mountain View 12/28/2004

This is the BEST MARGARITA you'll have at a restaurant, and some of the best food in the area. Standouts are "grandma's special chicken," "chicken mole," and "chili verde." WOW is this stuff good! Can be a wait on a Friday or Saturday night, but worth it. Generally good service. Pros: great food, great margaritas more

Good Chips 8/14/2003

The chips were good but the rest of the food was WAY OVER PRICED. Service? What service... I get better service at Taco Bell. Sorry, will not return or recommend. LA Alful Restaurant. Pros: Chips Cons: Price, The rest of the food, SERVICE!!!! more

Great Sangria but Sooo expensive 12/5/2002

I have never seen such an expensive Mexican restaurant in my life. I don't think I would ever go back there because there are so many other, cheaper places around. Sorry, but it's not like Mexican food is gourmet or anything. Pros: sangria, decor, food Cons: price more

RUDE SERVICE, DO NOT GO HERE 11/9/2002

I think it is evident that the people who own this restaurant do not wish to provide good service. Pros: close to mtn view Cons: service, attitude, quality of food more

10 6/6/2002
