We were recently at a home and garden show and thought we were signing up for a great deal, turns out after being lied to numerous times by an "owner" that it was a timeshare. Our...

We stayed at King's Creek from June 29th thru July 4th. We had a 2 bedroom cottage that was perfect for our family of 4. It was well kept and we didn't have any issues at all. The beds were pillow tops and wonderful to come home to after exploring the area! The place was very clean and comfortable. We had large flat screen tvs in both bedrooms and the living room. We did the sales meeting the second day we were there and the man was not pushy at all. He told us about the plan, left us alone to discuss and when we said we weren't interested he said ""Okay, you folks have a great vacation."" Even the second guy we were then sent downstairs to who offered to cut the price in half was polite and just said, ""Alright, enjoy your the rest of the week."" The hour spent was definitely worth what we paid to stay in a 2 bedroom home! We would defintely go back! more

We rented a 3 bedroom cottage and it was wonderful. (7/15 to 7/22) We purchased a 7 day Bush Garden/WaterCountry pass (on line prior to our trip). From the parking lot of WaterCountry to our front door took 3 minutes. Bush Gardens was only 5 minutes away. \r This cottage reminded me of a fairy tale cottage. Two of the bedrooms had King Size Beds and\r the 3rd bedroom had (2) Twin Beds. Every bedroom had a widescreen TV and private bath with a 1/2 bath downstairs. Very clean and well kept. If i were to build a home it would be a replica of this cottage. There were (2) outside pools and (1) olympic size pool in the plantation\r complex. The units had a gas grill to use and the maintenance people came around and emptied your garbage can every morning. We only got a call once for a sales pitch but declined. My daughter-in-law found this deal on craigslist. I have been to Williamsburg, VA for\r the last (6) years and there is no doubt that when i come back it will be to KingsCreek Plantation. more

My husband and I spent a weekend here for a timeshare presentation. This was the best accomodation I had ever styaed in for a timeshare presentation. Normally they put you in places that make your skin crawl. Not King's Creek. They pulled out all the stops. We stayed in a one bedroom cottage. Full amenties. It's a bit of drive to the heart of Williamsburg which is the Richmond Rd strip. (That's where Captain George's and the outlets are.) Took about 20 minutes to drive there every day. But it as nice to be off the beaten path. They even treat you to lunch during your timeshare presentation. Some kind of diner, but it was good. The tour guide guy was nice. Everything was really nice. If you want a quick getaway, go! more

From the warm welcome at the check in to help with our washing machine, I'd say the service here is excellent. No smells! Quiet. Great for power walking. Swim and gym facilities are fantastic. Good kitchen, towels, bed very comfortable. Clean! And yes close to everything. We came here with an Interval Get-away for a couple of hundred$ and couldn't believe the warm treatment we were afforded. Highly recommended. We are Marriott owners at 3 resorts. We are picky more

We were totally impressed. The facilities were very nice and spacious, every employee we encountered was friendly and helpful, the resort itself has a ""neighborhood"" feel as opposed to an apartment/condo atomosphere, which we liked very much. We liked it so much that we took the plunge and bought a wee piece of it. The ""sales pitch"" was in no way an unpleasant experience, we weren't pressured or insulted or pestered. We look forward to returning! more

We stayed in a 2 bedroom with another family for a night after a horrible hotel accomodation over Labor Day weekend. We all wished we could have stayed longer. For 4 adults and 4 kids, it was still a huge space & we never felt cramped. We had to ask for the sheets for the pull out couch, but other than that, everything was nice & clean. We loved the open floor plan as well. Our friends (who are now owners) were very happy with their purchase. more

We have stayed here two different time. The one time we stayed in the 2 bedroom(townes) and the second time we stayed in a 1 bedroom(cottage.) The townes was very nice, it has a nice size kitchen, living room, dining room and each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The one bedroom cottage has a very small kitchen, but it was only meant for 2 adults and maybe 2 small children. The larger cottages are very nice, with at least 3 bedrooms and at least 2 1/2 baths. It is right next to water country and only 1 exit away from Busch Gardens. Williamsburg is also between 5-10 minutes away. They have a lot of activities there and they have indoor and outdoor pools. It is a great place to go with your family. They also have gas grills outside your building if we want to cook out. more

Just returned from Kings Creek Plantation. I was well aware of the selling timeshare scenario. All the posts are correct about the amenities - it is very nice there. I just want to inform readers about the facility. If your travelling with children, it's the best place you can stay - period. Pools, activities, etc - it keeps them busy. I do not have younger children - so as an over 50 couple, it is not my ideal location for vacationing. The pools are great but filled with kids - and they DO NOT ENFORCE the OVER 18 section of the pools. Getting around to Water Country & Bush Gardens is easy and they have great golf courses in the area - Kings Mill is my favorite. I found the units to be very nice and spacious - we stayed in a two bedroom, with a pullout in the den for a total of three beds. Two full bathrooms which is great to have and a fully applianced kitchen. The staff there were very accomodating to us and answered all our questions - Oh, if you do attend the timeshare marketing, excuse me, they call it Vacation Ownership - it wasn't as bad as I heard in other posts. My wife and I were interested and they do make it sound very appealling, but if my kids were younger, I certainly would have purchased. more

I absolutely loved Kings Creek! We booked through a travel show for 4 days 3 nights for $300 and I would do it again in a heart beat. Actually I did. I just booked with them again monday. \r \r We checked in and the people at the front desk and conciere desk were fabulous and friendly as could be. The area was very clean.\r \r Then we got to the 2 bedroom living area and it was clean there was no odor it was very comfortable. We have a 1 year old and I was very comfortable with him playing on the floor. \r \r We then went through the sales pitch. Our guy Mitch was so friendly and so understanding that we weren't in a position to buy but still answered our questions and showed us the tour. He was never pushy and he understood we were young and just came because of the free gifts. \r \r Again I will be going back there and staying again and will recommend it for anyone who is going to Williamsburg! more

We stayed in the estates for a week. We had the 2br side with an up and down stairs. We didn't really know what to expect before arriving because of some of the reviews but after checking in, we knew the trip would be great. We had an option in staying in other types of units and those ranged in lower prices so I'm sure the people that complain about the units are just staying in the cheapest thing they can find and expect a upgrade for no reason. We were asked to do a presentation but declined. We aren't planning on buying another timeshare/vacation pkg so why waste anyone's time over $100. We definitely didn't want to lose a day of a vacation for that. The grounds and pool were kept up even with seeing some parents just let their kids throw trash on the ground. I would say the only thing that we didn't like about the stay was listening to the people talk about how they were going to get all this free stuff if they just sit through a presentation. Someone asked my opinion about that while at the pool and I told them that they are choosing to do the sales pitch so they shouldn't get mad when someone asks them to buy something. I'm sure they are on commission so I wouldn't want to take food out of their families mouth so I can get into Colonial Williamsburg for free. IT'S NOT FREE WHEN YOU LOSE A DAY IN A SALES PITCH. The word resort is being used for this property. It's a really nice place to stay and its safe, but the best words to use would be a vacation community. Resort is used for everything nowadays. Yes we had to drive for a few minutes to get to a restaurant but we will sacrifice that for not being directly in the middle of all of the noise and people. We like receiving larger accommodations so that's why e chose the estates. We saw the floor plan for the package that was less than $200 and knew that wouldn't fit us. The key in having a great vacation is realising that you get exactly what you pay for. We hope that when someone reads this and decides to stay at Kings Creek, they see tht the vacation is what they make of it. Pay the extra few dollars an get the nicer units in the newest area. Do the sales pitch if you're really considering a ""timeshare"", if not, why bother and just enjoy life. That's why we vacation anyways. Family bonding and enjoyment is what brought us here and that's exactly what we got out of it. Thank you Kings Creek more

we have been owners of Kings Creek for 8 years we have upgraded twice for more points and we love everything about the area a lot of people come there to complain about everything because most of them are cheap skates and mooch off their own family or they want to pay the cheapest amount they can for stay and take a tour for the sales people and then complained about the resort and that nitpic every little thing those people should stay away from our resort and away from our family and let us enjoy what we paid for they can just stay at home in their crappy little town and watch TV. more

Our family has stayed at this property July 4th week for the past 4 years. We stay in the estates it has all the bells and whistles you would expect from a world class resort, we have also stayed in other phases in the past as we have upgraded throughout the years and now own a 4 bedroom in the estates. We booked this year and unfortunately at the last minute we found out that we won't be able to actually go, so we have been forced to rent out our week this year. I would recommend this resort to any family looking to have an outstanding holiday week. There are many pictures of this resort and all the amenities, each place in the estates has its own grill and it has its own pool area. more

We recently stayed at Kings Creek in a 2bdrm Townes unit. The unit was spacious and had everything we needed, and we liked the quiet location convenient to Colonial Williamsburg. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 7/2/2013

We recently returned from a stay at this beautiful property. We had a two bed, two bath unit with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. There was plenty of space for everything, and everyone. Our unit was spacious and well appointed. Even though the weather didn't cooperate for a couple of days, that was fine. We just hunkered down by the fireplace and enjoyed a good book. Everyone we encountered whether it was on the property or out and about, was nice, pleasant and very helpful.\r \r This property is centrally located to the sights, shopping and Historic Williamsburg. Nothing seemed to be more than a half hour away. Williamsburg is only 10 minutes from the property. This was a much needed and very relaxing vacation. I look forward to going back in the future. more

We just returned from a week here and enjoyed it. The one-bedroom apartment is roomy and there are pools, tennis courts, a gym, etc. We did not use any of the amenities because there was so much to do in the area. It was convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, the Mariners Museum, and was next door to Water Country USA. Busch Gardens was 10 minutes away. more

Our family just vacationed for a week at King’s Creek Plantation. Our unit was reasonably clean and fairly well stocked. Our unit had a nice porch with one plastic chair on it. more

Our apt was very roomy. We had a one bedroom with a living room and kitchen. It is nice to have a place to keep food to cut down on the restaurant expences. The resort has an indoor pool, social and arts and crafts activities, and great staff that can give you all the info you need about williamsburg. They are very friendly and were responsive to our needs. more
