Killer Trash

This is a great store with the kind of thngs you expect in a vtg boutique. Posers who expect salvation army prices should go there and not put down this biz. The prices are fair and they get good finds. Def worth the time! Pros: A fun retro blast! Cons: makes u wish the rest of FP was with it! more

I love vintage clothing and i have been to many vintage shops in Maryland and elsewhere, so having driven and walked past Killer Trash many times, i must admit i had rather high expectations. The name is awesome. The window display is awesome. But, like a book, it does not pay to judge a store by its window displays. Firstly, the place is tiny. The small store can barely hold the racks upon racks of clothes, making a casual perusal into a chore. While there are a lot of clothes, it would not be fair to call this a ""wide selection"" as most of the clothes are the same. Everything i found was tired, old, and mundane; i never found a piece which ""wowed"" me- which is rare for me while in a vintage shop. I did find the prices to be pretty on par with all the other vintage stores ive been to: pants and blazers for between 20-30$, coats for about 30$, dresses in the teens and 20$s, and most shirts under 25$. That said, i would highly suggest visiting shops like ""Ten Car Pileup"" in Towson or ""Venus on a Halfshell"" in Frederick, for a much broader and better selection and atmosphere, with actually exciting pieces and accessories.\r Killer Trash is in a great neighborhood, with many fine and interesting shops nearby in Fells Point, and i would definitely recommend the area and the shop to tourists who want to go places other then the tired old Inner Harbor, or for someone who is not experienced with vintage clothing shops and who will therefore not have high or unrealistic expectations. Here's my bone to pick: I went there a long time ago before they shop had moved to its present location and the prices were great. When I went there more recently, it was totally out of control, I was going to buy a scarf with little coins like a bellydancer would wear but they wanted over $100 for it. They said it was ""vintage"", but when I looked at it, it was comprised of some random material with strands of cheap immitaion coins made of a very flimsy metal that you find at a bargain fabric store. There was nothing ""vintage"" about it and it was obviously made by some amatuer, in fact the entire peice could easily be made for about $2- $5!!! All in all the clothes were uninspiring and tired looking, and honestly, I am into the vintage, goth and punk clothes, and I have much better luck and ALOT more cash left over if I just go to the Good Will or Salvation Army rather than pay for a trendy name and clothing that is boring or look like what the store boasts: TRASH! Pros: Good location, cool name Cons: Way way way overpriced, store smells like cat urine, and overall selection is bad. more

I have been giong to Killer Trash for over 10 years and I have always found something I have to have. Very good quality clothes and prices that are more than fair. I have found a dress to wear to a formal wedding, as well as one of my favorite fake fur winter coats. A great way to be sure you won't show up at your next event wearing the same department store dress as everyone else. more
