Nothing but good 5/17/2012

I cannot say enough good things about this garage. We were on vacation and had a problem that 3 other garages in the area could not resolve. They worked all day on the problem and discovered that it was caused by an alternator that had spiked instead of dying. It had affected many parts of the vehicle, the worst being the regulator. They got us up on the way the same day while only charging us for the part and labor for changing the part rather than the variety of mechanics that had worked for 7 hours we spent there. I have personally sent this to all my friends some of whom are either in the Sacramento area or have relatives that are. We cannot say enough good things about this garage. Pros: null Cons: null more

Impressive 7/1/2010

I have only taken my car here once, but will definitely be coming back for anything related to my car. Jerry, the manager, was absolutely wonderful. I was in an accident and needed to document an inspection for legal reasons. He made it as painless as possible and went out of his way to meet any requests I made, including patiently answering all my questions, allowing me to take the pictures myself (using his camera), and making sure I had access to the pictures I took and the inspection results. I probably annoyed them, but all the people in the shop were very friendly,helpful, knowledgeable, and they charged me much less than I expected. Also, the waiting room has really comfortable chairs. Overall it was a good experience. more

I recommend John Ellis to everyone 10/17/2009

I have been going to John Ellis & Son for 4 years now, they are friendly, honest, and experienced professionals. I have never been told I needed something fixed that didnt need to be I trust their word and their work. When I take my car in I can be assured that the job is done right the first time. They also are understanding, they have a customer assistance program so when I couldnt pay for the job upfront they have set up payment plans for me on more then one occasion and they have never held my pink slip hostage until the work is paid for like other mechanic shops have done to my family & friends. I meet a man at the DMV who said he had been going to that shop for 20 years I'm sure I'll be doing the same. more

best shop in town 6/8/2009

Over the last 30 years, I have taken my trucks to several shops in the Sacramento area. I always come back to John Ellis and Sons. No shop in town come close to the work, honesty, and professionalism of John Ellis and Sons. I have never been charged for work they have not done and have never had work recommended that I did not need done. They even fixed some work that other shops have messed up. Again, hands down, the best shop in town. Go there. You won't be disappointed. more

I have taken every car I've owned in my adult life to Ellis and Sons. They are extremely honest, thorough and fair mechanics. the shop is clean, the staff are friendly, and they don't talk down to people who don't know much about cars. more
