Leah is a great hairstylist! I got my haircut and it was more than what I expected and asked for. Great customer service and an amazing cut! I am an extremely picky person when it comes to getting my haircut. I can honestly say that I have only had a few great cuts in my life and this was one of them. I would recommend her to anyone! If you asked me about this salon this morning, I would have said to go to it and it is amazing. Before today, I have always had a pleasurable experience. After today, I still recommend this salon, but not Steven Smith. He does not listen to your recommendations for your hair, he gets frustrated easily when you say what you want and your trying to get your point across and your not saying what he wants to hear. Today I went in asking for a change. I usually get highlights but I wanted to get my hair colored and highlighted, i was sick of seeing the roots! So when he came back from mixing the color, I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he stormed off saying "We're just doing highlights, I dont have time for this". I am a very picky person about my hair because it is the first thing anyone see's on you. It has to always look good. Steven got very frustrated with me and even got me to the point of crying this morning. I left the place feeling very unsatisfied and he didnt even take more

I've been going to a salon in Boston for years, but I recently moved to the Providence Area so I thought I would try it out. The prices are relatively high and I was not pleased at all with my stylist Leah. They should seriously consider training their staff a little better. I think I'll take the hour drive to Boston to get better results more

I use to be an extremely difficult and picky client, and I think it came from the many years of leaving salons hating my hair. That all changed when I found Steven at John Bacon Salon. I have never had so many compliments (even to the point of being stopped in the street, and asked where I get my hair done) and have never loved my hair so much (not only every time I leave the salon, but when I style it as well)!!! After Googling "best hair salon in RI" and reading the reviews about this salon, I decided to drive down from Newport to try it out. I was not disappointed and received one of the best haircuts I've had in a long time from one of their senior stylist, Steven Smith. He instinctively knew what I needed based on his 11 years of experience. I wish I would have found him and this place sooner. Even though I am moving to another state, I will be back to see him. I have been going to the John Bacon Salon for 15+years. The entire staff is terrific-at one time or another I have had almost all of the stylists at least blow-dry my hair and I have never been disappointed. John has attracted a wonderful, talented group-they are professional, accommodating and especially up-to-date on the latest techniques and styles. Jen has been my regular sylist for years and she always takes the time to make sure each cut is perfect! I can't say enough! The John Bacon Salon is outstanding. I have very thick, curly and challenging hair and John is the only stylist I have met that can consistently give me a great cut. John has been cutting my hair for over 20 years. I moved to Boston 18 years ago and tried several Boston stylists over a 3 year period. No one can cut hair like John so I drive to Providence once a month to see him. Everyone at the salon is courteous and professional. I highly recommend it! I moved to RI from Mpls. and it took me awhile to find a salon that met my high standards. By that, I mean that I expect to get the end result that I want and am paying for. The John Bacon Salon surpassed my expectations. While I'm sure they are all good stylists, I am very happy to be a client of Maryse's. She instinctively knows what I want and what to do with my hair. She also cuts it in a way that makes it easy for me to manage by myself (ever had the 'looks great at the salon but not when you style it yourself at home' cut?). When I went on a vacation to Europe, I had the best 'vacation hair' I'd ever had - great cut & highlights; nothing fussy and time-consuming to work with. She's the ultimate professional and knows her trade. The one time I couldn't get in with her (had an important last minute event to attend), I saw Lea. She was fantastic and did a great job as well. I recently moved from Boston to the Providence area and have been searching for a quality salon. I can not speak highly enough about the John Bacon Salon. The salon itself could use a little work and is not as modern as some of the nicer salons in Boston, however the quality is with the stylists! I went with Robert the first time and Maryse the second time (was recommended by a friend at work) and they were both very professional but I didn?t feel like I was getting the most for my haircuts. When I switched to Pam I knew right away that she was the right choice. It has truly been a privilege to sit in her chair and receive very perceptive and personalized attention. Her personality is very warm and inviting and her work is fantastic. She has done a great job with my coloring and the cuts have been great. She is young but you can tell she is experienced. Before I made an appointment, I checked the reviews, well sad to say, I did not have the same experiences as some of the others. I had Melissa. She was 15 minutes late and never even apologized for her tardiness. My time is as valuable as hers. Traffic is the excuse, so leave home earlier. Do what it takes to be on time. I was on time. The salon was stuffy, not friendly, not warm. I did not like how Melissa styled my hair. I pointed out another customer's style and said I thought that style was cute, she ignored it. She never even thanked me for her tip which I should have not given her. In addition, they do not return calls. I called to ask a question about a producet. The woman said she had to ask John and she would call back. I never received a call back. Don't waste your money. There are plenty of other salons better and less expensive. more

I have been to many salons and have not been happy, I was months over due for highlights a good cut. My niece had told me about melissa at john bacon and i went in and i have found exactlly what i was lookin for, the salon is modern and comfortable and melissa is knowledgable and talented. more

I was recently in the market for a new hair stylist, and I found Maryse at the John Bacon Salon!! Super neat salon with sophisticated decor. I needed HELP with my hair and she made me feel very comfortable and took the time to advise me. I love the cut and the highlights. We didn't rush into anything!! I'll certainly be back! I took a chance and am certainly glad I did!! more

John Bacon Salon is one of the most profession hair salons I have been to. I have been a client of Maryse for years, I followed her there from another salon years ago. The entire staff is professional, friendly, and very up to date on all the current hairstyling trends. I have to say Maryse is THE best hairstylist.
