International Hair & Day Spa / Eyebrow Threading

After a couple weeks of researching I went ahead and booked an appointment with Darshita. I was turning 30 and wanted to go long to short and wanted to try out eyebrow threading. I am highly impressed with her talent and high level of skills. I have gotten my haircut from top salons in Wichita, Denver, and Texas so I have extremely high expectations. I showed her a picture of what I was wanting and she explained what she was doing and why based on my hair type. I learned that my hair grows a certain way and other quirks about my hair and explained why she would cut something this way or that. She is very friendly, fast, and informative. I learned so much about my hair and how to style it from her. I also have never tried eyebrow threading and have either done waxing or plucking. I have very thick unruly with slight patchy spots and noone has ever been able to give me what I consider more ""feminine"" looking eyebrows and there are ALWAYS stray hairs that they miss. I told her what I was looking for and she did it quick and painlessly. If you are used to waxing this is much less painful. It just feels odd but not a painful odd. I enjoyed it and will continue going to Darshita for my hair and eyebrow needs. I am also interested in her other services that she offers such as facials. I will need to book one next time I need to retouch my eyebrows and get a trim. \r Also the salon is nice and clean and products are well displayed. The other stylist are nice an friendly and don't gossip about others. \r They were able to squeeze my daughter in for a haircut the same time as my appointment. Her stylist Cat is excellent with children. She was able to copy the picture of the haircut that my daughter wanted. My daughter also received a cookie and some candy. She also engaged in a conversation with my daughter and my daughter really enjoyed getting her haircut with Cat.\r \r Thank You Darshita and Cat for a wonderful experience and we will both be back again!\r more

I went to the International Hair salon last night for my first appointment. I booked to give them a ""try out"" after reading all the great comments about Darshita. She's everything the reviews say and more! Loved her. She talks through options with you and explains her plan and how you can duplicate looks at home. I also went ahead and did the ""threading"" based on what people said. I had NEVER had this done before and was curious. It was great! It really does make a big difference. I would definitely say have a professional do it, which Darshita is. I'm going back for sure and will get her to do my color next time too! You can't miss with Darshita! more

I recently visited Darshita for a haircut and eyebrow threading. I had long hair and wanted it cut to a shorter length. Darshita was very helpful and explained various styles and how they will suit my face. She also educated me on styling my hair and taking care of it after the haircut. Her tips are really very helpful. I found her to be a very skilled aesthetician. I have received a lot of compliments on my new hair style. I definitely recommend Darshita if you are looking for a stylist who is willing to go the extra mile to give you a great look. more

I find that Travis, the owner, offers a wide array of exceptional services, along with excellent products. I'm a long-time client and I've witnessed the wonderful expansion and upgrades that Travis has done in this beautiful salon. I saw Darshita on March 5 for a haircut and the string eyebrow shaping. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more knowledgeable stylist and skin care specialist in the area! If you feel that you deserve the best, go ahead and give the spa a visit. I just moved from Omaha to Kansas and was looking for a person that would do a facial and thread my eyebrows. Darshita was recommended and I am grateful that I found her. She's good at what she does and also educates you along the process. Her charges are reasonable. I would highly recommend her for anyone looking for a great aesthetician. more

I moved to Kansas City from the west coast where I was accustomed to getting my eyebrows threaded. I started going to Darshita for eyebrow threading over a year ago and was very pleased with the results. She kept my brows full and cleaned them up to accentuate my face -- they look amazing! I was so impressed with her threading that I finally decided to have her cut and color my hair. It was by far the right and best decision. I have been to two other hairdressers in KC and Darshita is BY FAR the BEST! She consulted with me prior to the cut and color to figure out exactly what I wanted. I have long hair and she corrected my layers to add shape without losing thickness. I LOVVEEE my color. She added dimension and richness to my hair that complements my skintone. I also got a custom mask for my hair which made it smooth and shiny. Thus far I am completely satisfied and very happy I made the transition to get my hair and eyebrows done with Darshita -- it's a one stop shop! I have been going to Darshita for over a year now for both hair and eyebrow threading. I have to give a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to her. I recently tried to do a home color on my hair, I went to a salon supply store and chose a color I wanted to get to, specifically asking about which color would get me from what I was to what I wanted. I purchased the recommended products and applied them. I was a natural dirty blond with high and low lights trying to go to a brown/red. What I got after the wash out was ORANGE, I could have gone as Johnny Depp Mad Hater for halloween, and that is no exageration!! I called Darshita and even though she had an appointment at the time and had plans after work she fit me in and I walked out of the salon with a gorgeous color! more

International Hair & Day Spa has a very soothing, welcoming ambience. The one-hour drive for us is totally worth it to get our eyebrows threaded. Darshita is SUPERB!!! She is very meticulous when it comes to her work and really explains what she is doing. Extremely knowledgeable and very caring. I also had her cut and style my hair for the first time yesterday (I'd only gone for threading the previous times), and I absolutely LOVE my new hairdo! My sister even said my hair's never looked this good before :) Not only does Darshita do eyebrow threading and hair cut/hair style, she also does facials and make up consultations. Wow, I had the best experience the other day. I was assigned Darshita for several treatments. Lucky day for me! Darshita not only does an amazing job, she offers tips and suggestions every step of the way. She threaded my eyebrows (hardly heard of this but now am a firm believer), did my hair and makeup. Of course I've had these done many times before, but this time it was the best. Hair is soft, shiny and condition is wonderful. Makeup was outstanding. I usually come out looking like a clown, but this time just perfect. more

I started going to Darshita for eyebrow threading several years ago. I had to drive an hour, but it was well worth it. Nobody has ever been able to fix my crooked eyebrows until Darshita. When my hair stylist moved, I decided to have Darshita cut my hair after a threading appointment. She did a wonderful job. I love how she gives me tips and tricks and creative new ways to style my hair during each appointment. She always listens to what I want, gives me feedback and the final product is amazing. I was so delighted to find someone in the KCMO area who does the eyebrow threading. I had been introduced to this way of shaping the brow and removing facial hair when I lived in Arizona but had not been able to find anyone to do it once I had left. To me it is better than waxing, or shaving because it leaves a cleaner line and last longer. Fortunately, I found Darshita. She is great! She works quickly, and does an excellent job. I'm so happy with my brows. Additionally, she has a lot of information about skin care and hair care and is on hand for facials, makeup and even henna! She is warm and friendly and I will definitely be back! I recommend her highly. more

I found this salon through city search looking for threading here in Kansas city. Darshita does excellent threading, you will be so pleased with the shape of your eyebrows. Darshita will also consult with you on what hair cut/style will look best on you. She has excellent knowledge of hair care/products. I haven't found someone here in Kansas City since I moved, who has cut my hair so well! I highly recommend Darshita, you will not be disappointed! more

I got to know about International Hair and Day Spa thru Groupon. I have been here twice in the last 1 month and had an excellent experience both times. First was for a manicure pedicure with a friend and it was one of the best mani/pedi in a long time. It turned out to be a perfect sendoff gift for my friend. Second was for hair care. Darshita did a great job at assessing my hair. I opted for a conditioning treatment where she explained to me the nature of my hair and the products I could use for it (I have curly hair and often run into frizz issues). I was initially apprehensive about a hair cut (I read so many articles where hair cuts went wrong for people with curly hair) but Darshita did an amazing job! I am so happy with my hair cut now. She styled it in such a way that I could do a regular ponytail for work and style my curls (with a regular or side ponytail) for an evening out. I am glad I can finally leave my hair open without tying it. She even showed me how I could style my hair at home. So all in all I would definitely recommend International Hair and day spa. more

Darshita patel did a great job in doing my hair. i was so happy after my haircut. she made it look excatly the way i wanted. she explained what she use on my hair and also how will that particular product effect my hair. she knew excatly what she is doing meaning very knowledgeable about her profession. very impressive and will recommend darshita for a best haircut. more

The only service I've gotten here is threading with Darshita. I followed her here from another salon. I will never trust anyone else with my eyebrows. She is the best in town! Darshita listens to her clients. Just tell her what you want your brows to look like and she'll make it happen. I don't think I'd try any other service at this salon, but I will keep coming back so long as Darshita is there. Tip: They don't allow you to leave a tip on your debit or credit card receipt like most salons, so you'll need cash if you want to tip. more

Darshita did a fantastic job! My eyebrows look great! Darshita also educated me on how the eyebrow threading process worked as well as give me so hinters on makeup and skin care advice. Will definitely go back! Great first time experience at this salon! more
