The Impark parking garage at 527 E 14th St should be avoided at all cost. Today they locked my bike up with their lock and refused to give it back until I paid them. Essentially holding it for ransom. I picked up a Zipcar there today, just as I had over the past 4 years I parked and locked my bike in the garage.(I had never paid a fee of any sort, nor had anyone ever mentioned any bike fee) No one mentioned any fee today either...until I returned 4 hours later and they had locked my bike up and insisted I pay them for parking there if I wanted my bike back. As my 2 year old son waited, I waited for 30 minutes to talk to the unavailable manager to discuss the situation. When we finally talked, he was rude and dismissive and though I explained if they simply TOLD me I couldn't park there and there was a fee for parking a bike, then I would have gladly parked on the sidewalk. He said I had gotten away with it for too long? (I was never warned or told anything EVER) and this time I would pay or else my bike wouldn't be unlocked! So...If this type of bullying is what you want for your money, then go for it.
