Nice atmosphere and service, but food is bland and over priced for quality. Sauces were not up to par and lacked flavor. The veal Osso Bucco with risotto was rushed and tasted m...

Great Experience! 3/15/2007

I had a wonderful evening at Il Tiramisu. The service was excellent and the food was even better! Great pastas, and the best tiramisu in town! Loved it!! Pros: Ambience more

Generic Experience!!!! 2/9/2007

Inspite of all the raving reviews from city search website, this restaurant was nothing less than generic! It makes you wonder what kind of crowd flock this site! After trying this restaurant based on all the reviews I read from city search, I had high regards for the service and the gastronomical experience....Never again will I depend on City Search reviews...all power to the Yelpers!!!! I now believe!!!! The faux ambiance here and wanna-be San Francisco- hip crowd could not disguise the ordinary display and taste of our appetizer, main course, and dessert...but I love the grappa! ...who wouldn't!\r I would not recommend this place to anyone beyond average! Pros: The great furniture place accross the street Cons: Overstated reviews about the gastronomical experience more

Great for a large party 11/21/2006

My father had his girlfriend's surprise 60th birthday party at Il Tiramisu a short time ago. You would think that with a party of approximately 80 people that the service would be slow, the food would be cold, and that some guests would be dissatisfied. This was not the case. The service was on point and the food was delicious. Il Tiramiso is a wonderful place for a large, but intimate gathering. Pros: Great food, service, and ambience Cons: The banquet room was a little small and crowded. more

We had a great time at Tiramisu. The service was exellent, the food was delicious, the portions very generous, great quality, fantastic varity, romantic environment!!! IT IS A MUST! Pros: ALL GREAT! more

Heaven sent down a chef 9/1/2006

I have been to hundreds of restaurants in my lifetime and, since moving to Southern CA from San Francisco last year I have been to close to a hundred more, my most recent trek was in search of a perfect Birthday venue. After countless meals and thousand's of dollars my wonderful daughter-in-law suggested Il Tiramisu, skeptical that it was just another ristorante let down, I arrived with only half a heart...well, the moment I walked in the door Peter greeted us with a warm infectious smile; made many suggestions, listened to my wine requests and the long and the short of it was SUCCESS!!! The food was more than fantastic it was superb, the Zucca Fritata, which was made with gorgonzola and butternut squash was heaven in every bite, the dinner salad was dressed to perfection with perfectly cultivated green. The chocolate soup should have a danger sign for it's addictive quality with a splash of Amarretto flavor. The Dao, Tawny Port was the best Porto Fino I have had in years; next stop BevMo to buy that fantastic Port.\r Everything we had from the chichen to the spinach salad was prepared to perfection, even the starting foccacia bread and olive oil dip was sublime. There was not a thing I could find amiss.\r \r Service was gracious, attentive, everything one could ask for. Needless to say, this will be the place for my 50th birthday bash. I am sure my lovingly missed little Genovese Grandpa and Grandma would have heartily approved (Although it leans on the Tuscan side). No need to search for the perfect place for a gathering, believe me, I have truly done that for you from Calabasas to Studio City every little bistro, cafe, ristorante...take it from a woman whose whole life was financed by the restaurant industry...this is THE PLACE. Pros: Service, Attention to detail, food Cons: it's not a little bigger more

Way too expensive for what it is ! 8/25/2006

Average italian food. Nothing special. The restaurant is not that great inside and the atmosphere is kinna dead. I was there for a date and I wouldn't recomend it. Pros: good bread Cons: not great italian food more

Fantastic! 7/29/2006

It is so great to go to a restaurant and feel so welcome! The owners were both so gracious and warm. The food was amazing and the restaurant was really cozy and comfortable. I will be bringing my friends, family and clients to this restaurant in the future. I know they will enjoy this restaurant and their dining experience as much as I did. I am lucky to have found one of the best restaurants in the Valley! more

Awesome food, service, & atmosphere!! 7/28/2006

IL TIRAMISU in Sherman Oaks has such excellent Italian cuisine that I feel like I am cheating on them if I eat at any other Italian restaurant! Thursdays seem to be the rocking night, especially when they have their featured Wine Dinners! I attended the most recent one and found beautiful people enjoying their Red & White wines along with the most amazing foods made specifically for the night. Owners Peter and Ivo made the night wonderful with their courteous presence and charm, and they made sure all guests were enjoying the night. If you have the chance to attend their monthly wine dinner, I strongly recommend it and to also call in to confirm a reservation as it is usually sold out. If you can't make the wine dinner, go and visit any other night, and experience one of the best reasturant's in the Los Angeles area! You will find on the menu incredible Northern Italian dishes that are very reasonably priced and other foods that are awesome, along with excelent service, and atmosphere! Pros: Amazing food and very fair prices! more

Best Lasagna On the Planet! 7/10/2006

I eat at Il Tiramisu around 3 times a week. Lasagna is usually my choice but I haven't found anything on the menu short of fabulous! Pros: Valet Parking is very convenient Cons: Self Parking is not so convenient, but hey, it's LA! more

My all-time favorite restaurant 6/24/2006

Il Tiramisu has been my home away from home. From the excellent cusine to the wonderful ambience and most importantly the presence of owners Ivo and Peter Kastelan, this is always my top choice when dining out. The food, wine list and service are all top notch and when I want to impress clients or friends, this is where I go to dine. I could go on, but you should just try Il Tiramisu for yourself. Pros: Beautifully Managed, Wonderful Food, Great Wine List and Expertise Cons: Can't think of any more

My favorite restaurant 6/18/2006

Tiramisu is an outstanding restaurant. The food is always excellent. The service is flawless. It is also an excellent value. I try to eat there atleast once a week. The owners, Ivo and Peter, are always there to accommodate to your every need. I am considered a very good cook by my family and friends. They always want to know where I go to eat when I am not cooking. That's easy. It's Il Tiramisu. Pros: ambiance, food, service Cons: sometimes a wait, but worth it! more

Worth going back to. 6/7/2006

Enjoyed the interesting menu items (pappardelle and lamb ragu with butternut squash) and traditional fare (homestyle lasagna, chicken parmesan). All at reasonable prices that make it easy to want to back... Pros: great prices Cons: not for kids more

Fantastic Service, Amazing Food. . . 5/23/2006

Fantastic Service, Amazing Food, Warm Setting, Reasonable Prices I haven't tried many Italain restaurants in the Valley but if you're looking for classic Italian food in a warm setting with great service at a good rate then check them out. Be sure to get the Tiramisu because it really is delicious. I did expect a side of pasta or spaghetti with my chicken parmesan but the enormous cutlet did fill me up pretty well on its own. Pros: Service, Food, Prices more

5 Stars on Ventura Blvd. 5/12/2006

Never have I ever felt more important while dining out. Restaurant owners Ivo and Peter Kastelan have found the recipe for success and it's all within the confines of their 5 star restaurant, Tiramisu. I always look forward to the gourmet prepared Italian cuisine. Starting with their signature fresh foccaccia bread and garlic oil that greets every guest to their fabulous house salad to ecclectic pastas and carefuly selected daily specials, all satisfying every palate. Their wine selection is extensive and well picked and their Tiramisu and cappuccino is the best. Your evening can be romantic or family friendly. An all around great experience and well worth it! more

Who needs the Westside Restaurants? 5/12/2006

Ok, so the Westside has some big name chefs but your time dining at Il Tiramisu will be well spent and you will still have some money left after. Ivo and Peter, the co-owners of Il Tiramisu, have put together a great menu and a super level of service which will make your evening (or lunch for that matter) be perfect. The Yellowtail was great! Im an Osobucco frequent flyer! Love it more

Great Secret in the Valley 5/8/2006

I love going to Il Tiramisu! The food is so fresh, great flavorful dishes, the best pizza I have EVER had (and I have tried many!). It is also rare that you find the kind of service and attention from a restaurant staff every time you come in. They make you feel like you are family (or a VIP) at every visit. Pricing is extremely reasonable and portions are generous. To top it off, the deserts are out of this world fabulous! (Which is fitting considering the name.....Il Tiramisu...) Pros: Flavorful dishes, Reasonable Pricing, Warm Atmosphere more

Excellent Food & Service 3/6/2006

My wife and I are always on the lookout for authentic Northern Italian cuisine, and Il Tiramisu definitely didn't disappoint. In fact, we had one of our best dining experiences ever. Their Oso Bucco and Seafood Rissotto are excellent. The service is one of the best in the Los Angeles area. Their staff, from the manager to the waiters, made us feel at home. I would recommend reservations since it's always packed. Parking is along Woodman Ave off Ventura, directly behind the resto. more

This Is It ! 2/13/2006

The only Italian restaurant you need to know about on the blvd. It all starts with your greeting and gets better from there. The elegant, yet comfortable dining room and attentive staff set the mood for an evening you'll remember until you go back again. Definitely the place to have a drink, or a bottle of Italian wine ( ask the boss to pick one out for you, he knows his stuff) and enjoy a top notch dinner prepared by a real Italian chef. Too many good things to list - Viva Italia, Viva Il Tiramisu ! Pros: location, food quality, atmosphere Cons: busy more
