House, Of Hui's

Usually order ""to go"" but decided to go one day for their lunch buffet. Sad to say the buffet was shut down and the owner, Amy, had me order from a sheet listing the usual buffet items. There was about 9-10 items in all. I asked for most of them, specifying I only wanted about a Tbsp. of each. Well, you would of thought I was out to rob and cheat her! She started to shout at me that this was not to take home food and only eat here. I told her I understood that and I wasn't going to sneak anything out in my purse! When I started to choose a few of the items just to shut her up, she then started to say ""not too many wings""! My friend and I were the only customers in the place and I can see why. Another party of two women came in and got the same treatment. They too rolled their eyes and turned to us and said how mean she was. The place is going downhill not to mention cluttered. The old buffet table was still their but piled high with junk! I love their pork fried rice but will not come back just because of this cheap and rude woman. more

Having been a resident of Brooklyn Center for almost 30 years, I can honestly say I have chosen to eat both lunches and dinners at House of Hui (HOH) many many times. I have usually been more then satisfied with their culinary capabilities and cleanliness. The food is very good, although some dishes are under seasoned. Clearly, there are good valuess to be had, but a word of warning, the bill is almost always incorrect. Judge for yourself but I feel this cannot always be an accident. \r If you are looking for ambience to dine on location, you won't find that here. Extremely simply dining area offers little or no atmosphere. All in all, food can be great depending on what you order, service is sub-par and the atmosphere is non existent. Our family has ordered House of Hui's food for over two years. We have always liked thier food and have found it to be consistantly good. Recommend it for a lazy night, when you don't feel like cooking. Delivery takes too long however, so if possible, pick it up yourself and save the delivery fee.\r Recommend: Beef and broccoli, General Tao's chicken, and chicken fried rice.\r My husband was not crazy about the Egg Foo Young.
