Staff is immature and unprofessional 6/8/2011

The pizza here is ok, used to be much better years ago. I can taste the cutting of corners for food costs as the quality of products has declined. Don't come here if you are looking for service. During my last visit, the place wasn't crowded, but the unoccupied tables were all dirty from previous diners. We sat at one of these table for 15 mins without even being noticed. I finally started clearing our own table by putting things on the dirty table next to us and the server started bitching at us for it. wtf. While arriving and leaving, outside where all the customers are coming and leaving, half of the the service and kitchen staff and friends were acting very childish, loud, and obnoxious. Never going back which is sad because this place was a staple of mine up until recently. more

White Pizza 4/2/2011

Although Hounddog's doesn't make my favorite style of pizza, they do make my friends' favorite pizza. The service is good and it's a fun location right next to the Ravari Room. The White Pizza is original...and good. more

Service used to b gud now sux 11/17/2010

Luv the pizza. 45 minutes for a pick up order is rediculous. more

Decent pizza, terrible service. 9/8/2009

When I was a little younger and not as terribly concerned with service, I didn't mind Hound Dog's and their complete lack of care when it comes to customers; now, it irritates me beyond belief. On my very last visit there, I went to pick up a pizza because I was informed that they no longer deliver to my apartment. (Them and everyone else, even though I'm two blocks from campus--but they're kind of far away so I understand.) They did not tell me a time over the phone, so I assumed that it was ready and that I should go ahead and drive over. Once I got there, I waited over an hour for a pizza that was probably done before I walked in the door; the staff asked me my name, couldn't find the pizza that was right in front of them (I saw them look at it several times, and it did end up being mine), and couldn't be bothered to ask a follow-up question or ask anybody in the kitchen if they knew about the order. No offer to compensate us for the hour-and-a-half, possibly hour-and-forty-five-minute wait. I knew from the look on her face that she strongly suspected that was my pizza when I walked in the door; I've worked food service and I know it can be confusing when orders change--that's why you ask instead of just ignoring it and hoping it goes away. Their service is inexcusable; they wouldn't have a business without the customers, so why treat them like dirt? Pros: open 24/7 Cons: Staff is totally unconcerned with patrons. more

Awesome pizza 7/25/2009

Hounddog's Pizza is the best you will find close to campus. If you've ever had Plank's pizza, this is at least as good if not much better, depending on your taste. Be sure to get the Smokin-Joe style, as the spices really make it the best pizza around the area. If you want a sterile, lifeless atmosphere, then don't go to Hounddog's. It doesn't look like the cleanest place from the outside, and the inside might look a little worn, but don't be fooled! This place has awesome food. If you're in the area, try it at least once - you won't regret it! more

Great Pizza 4/2/2009

This is some of the best pizza in Columbus, but make sure you get the smokin' joes crust. If you like pizza you definitly don't want to miss out on this place. They also have happy hours on weeknights where you can get $1 draft beers, which is a pretty good deal. The one caution I have is that the crowd can get a little crazy after typical dinner hours and on weekend nights, so if you want to the take the family, stick to monday-thursday earlier in the evening or for lunch. Pros: great pizza, $1 draft beer during happy hour Cons: crowd can get crazy later in the night more

Very Questionable 4/1/2009

This pizza is something you might want to consider after a couple of drinks: it is greasy and overly salted. We usually do not throw food away , but in this case we finally decided to. To be just: the order process was uncomplicated, the staff professional and the delivery extremely fast. The pizza was hot, and the price is competitive, that is not the case with the quality. Pros: Fast Delivery Cons: The Pizza Itself more

Good Price for the Taste 7/24/2007

Price is not bad for the taste of the food. We had are order droped off and they where quick and it was well made. Worth a try ""Lasagna Dinner"" was very good. Pros: Broad Range of items to order Cons: N/A more

BEST PIZZA EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH 3/6/2007

I highly recommend this pizza to anyone and if you dont like the trendy enviroment, get it to go. I happen to think that this restraunt is very trendy and the smokin joes style pizza is to die for. So if you go there, make sure you ask for smokin joes style pizza, because it is the best I've ever had!! Pros: Best pizza, fun place to hang out with friends Cons: Not a great place for older people more

Not suitable for human consumption 3/3/2007

I remember Hounddog's being ok when I first moved to Columbus years ago. However the years have not been kind to this old dog. The place is filthy and smelly. The service is contemptuous and instills very little confidence in the handling of your food. The food itself is only techiquely edible. The toppings are of rock-bottom quality. It's clear they're relying on their clientelle to stagger over from the Ravari Room hammered with no other options to soak up the booze. Let there be no doubt, the combination of Ravari's PBR and Hounddog's greasy, crappy food sure makes for a messy deuce. Your lower G.I. will never forgive you! more

Best pizza anytime 10/30/2006

If you want a nice pizza at any time of the night, Houndog's is the place to get it. The only negative is that it does not deliver to too many places. Pros: The many choices and the White Pizza Cons: The scene on weekends more

Great atmosphere and delicious bubbly cheese 8/22/2006

some of the best pizza i've ever had. the cheese was extremely bubbly and the atmosphere at hounddogs/ravari room is great more

BEST PIZZA IN COLUMBUS 4/10/2005

You wouldn't know it from the looks of the place (inside or out), but this is certainly the best pizza in Columbus. Happy hour in the Ravari Room is unbeatable. You can get a one topping 12"" pizza for $5. Ask for the Smoking Joe's garlic and herb sauce because that's what makes this pizza the best. Another suggestion would be the stuffed mushroom apps. They're great! All of the toppings/ingredients are fresh and taste great. Service can be a little off from time to time, but the food more than makes up for it. The atmosphere is great (as long as you avoid their Clampdown Events). Pros: best pizza in town, great environment, super low price Cons: parking sucks more

One of my favorite places to eat 7/18/2003

Hounddog's is definately my favorite pizza place. The ambiance is really fun, and they have a wide variety of types of pizza. The best is 4 cheese, extra cheese, pepporoni, ham, and sausage. Dude, we had the waitress complaining that the pizza was freakin' heavy to carry to the table... lol Any place that has the menu printed on a car hood kicks ass. Pros: Excellent Ambiance, Great Food Cons: crowded on weekends more

AWESOME! 8/12/2002

The absolute best pizza in town, Houndog's offers atmosphere, music, and good food too... just make sure that you order it Smokin' Joe's style! more

Fun-kay 7/25/2002

Pretty cool place. A little off-beat crowd. Nice atmosphere--not too loud, dark, smokey. Nice place to run late at night when there aint nuttin te doo. Food's pretty good and so are the prices. Beats the Dube---staff and customers are much more friendly. Remember, seat yourself. more
