Horseshoe Lake Animal Hospital, A Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner

I have been taking my cat to Horshoe Lake Animal Hospital since I got him when he was a kitten 7 years ago. I continue to use the services there today because the quality of care is superior. I find the veterinary staff and techs to be very freindly. They treat Deejay and I like we are old freinds every time we come, and I have never been disappointed with their care. The facility is spacious and clean. I have never smelled odors that one would expect in such a setting. Deejay enjoys the grooming services, and I enjoy not having to groom him. I do not feel that the prices are any higher here than they would be anywhere else. But it would be worth it if they are for the peace of mind that comes with knowing your pet is well cared for. Animals can't talk. So with that in mind, it is very important that your veterinarian be thourough in his work, and the Vets at Horshoe Lake are tops. I am so impressed with the quality of care that my pet has received and by the kindness of the staff. The care is cutting edge, beyond anything I have experienced anywhere else. Horseshow lake is a very good place. I take my dogs and cats there. I lost my cat to FIV and they helped me get through it and gave me lots of time to say good bye to her. They dont beat around the bush to get you to spend more money, they are honest, trustworthy, and the staff is very friendly. I love thier rooms because they are clean and there are treats for everyone! more

I needed to board my cat for a few days and checked out the pet resort facility because it was close to home. After walking in the front door, the extreme Febreeze smell just about knocked me out. I filled out the paperwork and asked the receptionist for a tour. I was concerned about the location of the cat cages in the lobby, and with my cat fearing people, she would be terrified with all the client traffic. There was a single isolated catroom in the rear of the facility and a short walk through the dog kennel to get there. After entering the area, the pungent odor of urine and feces made me gag, and I had to make a quick exit for the lobby. I then became concerned with the overall cleanliness. I managed to make my way to the catroom, which looked like a small storage room with a cat tree and litter box, for double the price. My cat also required vaccinations before she could stay, which would have been more expensive compared to my regular vet's fee. I had to move the boarding date up one day and called the next day to change, only to discover that I had been booked for the wrong week! What a mess that would have been! I cancelled all the appointments, and went elsewhere. It pays to shop around. more

Dr. Hall and staff took care of my 2 little dogs for years . Sadly , they have both passed on from old age . We just adopted a new little dog and took her to Dr. Hall for her physical . We have found all the people at Horseshoe to be very caring and compassionate .\r We wouldn't think of taking our pets anywhere else . In my opinion they are the best in this area. more

I would much rather spend a few hundred dollars to make sure my pet is in good hands, rather then go somewhere cheaper (which I have) and not have the most proper care for my pet. The employees (techs, receptionist, etc...) may not be the most "chatty" or "informing" (according to some) but if you have a question, ASK IT! Just as the same at a doctors office, I usually don't get the best service there, but this isn't a restaurant, I am more interested in the care my animal is getting, then how friendly they are to me. After all, I am there for my pet, and not myself. If I am confused about something, I make it a point to ask, and they answer every question I have without hesitance. I've been going there for many years now, and I would never think of going elsewhere. more

Boarding .....To expensive , in one year it went from $23.00 to now it's $35.00 . Pet owners aren't rich , this isnt like BelAir California , shame on Horseshow Lake Animal Hospital aka Dr Hall , trying to get rich fast . more

I recently sold a puppy to someone the puppy was checked out by my vet and was given a clean bill of health later the puppy buyer took the pup to Dr.Ervin and he talked badly about my vet and said that the puppy was sick and needed a surgery that was going to cost 1000 to 1500. The Dr never called me or my vet which both phone numbers and addresses were provided.I am a very honest person and I don't think its very professional that the Dr didn't call me or my vet directly. more

Dr. Hall, Dr, Ervin all the Dr's are extremely attentive to the problems you state about your pets. I have an Afghan and they require special expertise, being that they are, speifically long-gutted dogs, and require extreme thought and understanding. I have recieved absolutely A+++++++ care from the Doctors and staff. I highly recommend Horseshoe Lake and the their GREAT grooming staff also !!! more

I agree, this is better service and attention than my own doctors. The staff is attentive and helpful. There was almost no wait on either of the times I visited. All my questions were addressed, and I had more than most people could handle. The doctors were incredibly knowledgeable. The fees are reasonable, just thirty dollar for a visit (plus whatever else you need for meds or such). This place saved our beautiful Millie who is such a blessing to us. They show compassion by helping out stray dogs like our newly adopted one. A+++ more

I had 2 large dogs and was new to the area. I was impressed by the large friendly staff and spacious waiting room. It felt almost like a people clinic! Then we got to the exam. One of my dogs is almost a senior - 8 years old. The vet tech handed me some brochures of recommended care. The well-dog care for a younger dog was much higher than what I was used to. But older ones are really a money-maker for them. Without even looking at her, they recommended x-rays and blood work twice a year in addition to the standard well-dog care. Keep in mind this dog is a mixed breed in fantastic shape and has NO health problems or symptoms. The exam was very quick and the Dr barely looked at either dog. Bottom line: if you want to throw away over $1300 per year on a perfectly healthy animal, this is the place for you! more

We had to have our cat put to sleep because of liver failure. The people here were exceptionally compassionate and caring. They always try to get you an appointment as quickly as possible and make the experience a good one. more

My dog was really sick and my regular vet couldn't get her in. The people at Horseshoe said to bring her in right away. Turns out she had pancreitis. They kept her for a couple of days and called me daily with updates. The doctor even called me a couple days after she went home to check on her. My boss told me how good they were. Wow was he right. Also, the receptionists are really nice. more

I have been a vet tech for more years than I can remember. I recently moved to the state and was in need of a vet. Upon first check of my 20yo cat, I felt the wellness exam was a bit lacking. Especially when Dr. Ervin stated his heart and lungs sounded good - Even though he never took his stethoscope off his shoulders and my cat has a grade IV of VI heart murmur. Upon the second chance, I waited over an hour before anyone decided to say something - which as a tech who stated only "I bet your tired of wait'n, huh? Then after waiting even more, again Dr. Ervin did his 30 second magic show and never really evaluated my pet. If you want to try them at least ask for a different Dr. Hope this helps. A vet visit should be pet/customer first. more

Everything you need in one stop. Need to take fido to the doctor, they have plenty , need fido to have a haircut, they have groomers, boarding too! Wonderful staff, with lots of friendly technicians and doctors. The hours are good, and you can usually always get an appointment. Prices are not too bad. more
