We had our Tribeca terrace fully re-desinged last August ('09) with new planters, trees and ferns all based upon the ""design expert"". We are pleased with the planters, but the plantings are what we've had issues with. Granted we have somewhat limited options as we have a partially sunny terrace. The offered selections were rather boring, and very corporate. We ended up researching possible plantings and suggesting this to our assigned design expert (who is no longer an employee). Our first major issue was a caterpillar infestation on our trees last fall. We had to arrange for HW&V to spray several times in order to rid the trees of the damaging critters. This past spring ('10) we had at least 10 dead trees and had discussed with Bob Mundell, Operations Manager to have these replaced. He agreed to cover the cost of the trees, but we would have to cover the cost of labor (roughly $3,000). We had agreed to change the type of tree, however he did not change the tree type and when I contacted him in regard to this, his response was: ""Not switching the taxus for skimia was a mistake on my part, which I cannot really explain more than that...apologies! They look to be doing well though"". He did not offer to rectify the situation. We also lost the annuals planted and climbing vine plantings for our trellis. He choose to ignore this.
HW&V are definitely not the cheapest, however being that we spent over 40k we expected a little more.
