Fort Snelling 8/27/2005

Fort Snelling is like an open-sky museum with people dressed up in 19th century clothes and speaking accordingly (most of them are professional actors, so they are pretty good and fun to talk to). Quite a fun place if you like history, but probably not that great for small children. Tip - try to visit on the 4th of July, when special events are scheduled. more

Cool Fort 8/19/2005

This place is similar to Murphy's Landing in that there are pewople always around reenacting what people back then would be doing. This for t was built in 1827 and there are still the stone walls, towers, and buildings, though alot were rebuilt. There are military demenstrations, firing cannons and many more events .I don't think this is really a family place because my nephew said t was boring when he went for a school feild trip. more

Historic Fort Snelling was built in 1827. When you go inside you will meet soldiers and traders. You can have fun exploring the fort's towers and massive stone walls. You can join in military drills and watch the cannon fire. Fort Snelling has a gift shop and extensive exhibits. I feel Fort Snelling is enjoyed more by adults and not children so much. more
