Best

One of my favorite places to go on a Friday night when they do they're Jazz Fridays. We usually meet up with friends here and I love going when they have a new featured artist; I...

Worst

I was expecting a larger, more varied collection given that Atlanta is a beta-class world city, certainly much larger and wealthier than Norfolk or Richmond which do have reputabl...

World renowned art in a great little tow 7/23/2002

You can see the best of the world here! There are always great exhibits from all over the world and from right here in Atlanta more

vintage box office 6/21/2002

If you want to attend the High's comedy film series on Friday nights, better not bring your Visa. Or your Mastercard. Or even a check. It's cash only. more

Worth Joining 5/29/2002

Much of the collection doesn't live up to the innovative design of building, but the High is a relatively young museum and still growing. Many of the recent blockbuster exhibits have been of more populist artists but what museum doesn't do that these days. This museum is still a worthy stop for any tourist. If you live in Atlanta and attend a lot of exhibits, it's definitely a better deal to join the museum. more

Atlanta has always struggled with its place in the national arts world, and, unfortunately, the High Museum can't quite compete with some of the nation's finest museums. The High does frequently bring in exhibits compelling to any city. The unique way of organizing its collection, by theme, not era or artist, takes some getting used to, but in the end, the arrangement offers enlightening takes on common artistic themes. A trip to the High is a definite stop for locals or out of towners interested in art. more
