HORRIBLE 1/16/2012

WORST PIZZA PLACE EVER. Granted their pizza might be all famous, however the hostess was so rude, we didn't even go in. I am not the person to complain on a website but I've never been treated so horribly. I hope her boss sees this and she gets fired. Do NOT go there, instead hop on the subway and go to a just a famous and much more authentic pizzeria, called John's Pizzeria. Lombardi's Pizza was horrible - do not waste your time. Spread the news, this place sucks!!!!!! more

good italian cuisine no complaints 12/30/2011

the selection was pretty standard fare, nothing new. however, the cuisine was good , fresh, no grievances here, check it out with a date or a pal or the famiglia! more

Service was good, that's it. I wasn't there for ""Service"" 12/25/2011

OK, I am not here to trash Lombardi's really, other than the little girl that barks out your name when your table is ready, the sound of her voice is unforgettable and will make you lose your appetite, QUICK!. I think I would prefer to have a rusty screw driver twisted into my ear canal than hear THAT again. OK, here goes, like I said- NOT here to necessarily trash them, I am here to let you people of NYC (and especially of Brooklyn) and anyone nearby that if Lombardi's (or Totonno's or Grimaldi's) is your favorite pizza, and if you genuinely like it, you haven't had... ""Pizza"" at it's best. My dear people, you are eating junk, and paying through the nose. More than likely you are a Travel Channel fan (like 2 of the ONLY 2 people i was within ear shot of yesterday). You are outside taking pictures under a sign, maybe telling your friends that ""You went to the 1st pizza place in America..."" yada, yada, yada. OK, are you listening? (I hope that arrogant door man at Grimaldi's is listening as well), FORGET the TV shows! Forget what you hear from Adam Richman, or the Andrew boys on TC, do you want good pizza? or do you want to take pictures? I have had pizza from New York to Florida to California, and there is no place...are you listening?... NO place like the New Haven area of Connecticut to get pizza. Hands down, no contest, not even in the same league. If you want the best pizza you ever had, head to the Little Italy section of New Haven, CT (Specifically Pepe's on Wooster Street) and you don't need to go anywhere else. I have about 5 places within 20 minutes of my house that I can honestly say are the best places I have ever had pizza... ""Sally's Pizza"", ""Modern Pizza"", Zuppardi's, etc, etc. ALL of them are Kings. And when I say Lombardi's is forgettable, I mean Costco has better pizza. If ketchup on pita bread is your bag, by all means, enjoy. By the way- yes, i do NOT enjoy fresh mozzarella. Yesterday, half the slices on my Lombardi's pie had absolutely NO cheese on them. HOW do they DO that and not get their money thrown in your face?. but if you really want to be in Pizza Heaven, Pepe's is it. Period. When I left Lombardi's (after seeing that dudes photo 36 times just in the main entrance) I was actually pissed off. The more I walked down the street, the more pissed i got. I wasted my time, my appetite and my money. Yes, I was pissed. I could have sat down at Giovanna's on Mulberry and had a nice dinner. This is a public service announcement, like I said, take pictures and buy T-shirts? or have some great Pizza....The choice is yours. more

Great service, Passable linguini 11/30/2011

Lombardis is the type of place where you feel that everyone knows your name. the waiters are courteous and attentive to particulars of your order- too bad the chefs arent attentive to how long they leave their pasta boiling in their pot! Linguini was stringy and pasty, but the zesty recipe lent some flavor to this otherwise unimpressive dish. more

could be better 11/28/2011

I had been there in the past and it was good, it just seemed too busy this time, and the wait staff had trouble keeping up. I'd love for it to be better. Not a total washout. more

Lombardi Pizza? NEVER AGAIN 11/24/2011

Question: Why not hire real women to serve the Pizza instead of hiring fake women as in the squishy, mincing types of males? Cleaner, much less likely to have AIDS and who wants a sicko without gloves serving them? I won't be back. more

the most expensive and worst pizza I have had in NY 11/20/2011

This was not only the worst Pizza I've had in NY, but the most expensive, a small clam pizza was $28.00, the menu is not very clear, I thought I was getting a $16.00 pizza, this is a tourist trap and certainly not for New Yorkers who know better. more

Worth the wait 11/19/2011

We had to wait a bit for a table but was worth it. When you are with pizza lovers this is the place to go. Fantastic. more

Best pizza ever! 11/16/2011

I come here on the regular, this is without a doubt the best pizza out there. The crust is so crispy, the sauce is slammin and the cheese..You can tell they use quality ingriedents in their pizza. If your on the fence, don't be, you won't be disappointed at all! I wish there was just more locations! more

love the place 10/31/2011

i love being in a place where it makes you feel like your out of the ordnairy place ... i love being in the city and my partner and i loved this place... its great place to try and get some yummy pizza ! more

Not very good 9/24/2011

I looked up on 2 websites for the best pizza in New York. If this is the best, I will never eat pizza in New York. It was bland and overpriced. If I was in New York and wanted a pizza, I would order from a national chain. On the debate between Chicago and New York, the Chicago pizza I ate at Pizza Due in Chicago whooped this pizzas butt. I grew up eating thin crust. The workers couldn't even tell me where to park. They need a lesson in cooking and customer relations. Don't go here. more

Best Pizza I've ever had in NYC 6/28/2011

Let me just get my only complaint about Lombardi's out of the way. The restaurant is very small and cramped and would not be appropriate for a large group of people. Their pizza is the best I've ever had, not just in NYC, and I've eaten a lot of pizza in my time. The sauce is zesty and a little sweet, and the crust is just slightly charred (not burnt, just a little black in spots, with a little crunch to it). Honestly, I don't even think toppings are necessary because the crust, sauce and cheese are so good. But to each his own, right? This place is as close to perfect as a pizzeria can get. more

Wonderful! 6/26/2011

The staff at Lombardi's was exceedingly polite, the food was excellent, and the ambiance too. Highly recommended! more

Classic Brick Oven Pizza 6/20/2011

It is the original pizzeria in America and spawned all the other NY Classic Brick Oven Pizzerias! Still one of the best in the City! The pizza is always perfectly cooked with a slight char on it! Salads are excellent and they expanded the place a few years back to include a well-stocked bar while you wait to dine. The clam pizza is very good as well with fresh shucked clams on pizza dough with a drizzle of olive oil and fresh parmigiana cheese cooked in the brick oven to perfection. If you have never been here you don't know what you are missing the classic brick oven pizza that they invented is to die for. Remember to bring cash because they do not accept credit cards! They have an ATM in the restaurant if you forget. more

Best NYC Pizza 5/2/2011

One of the best Pizza in NYC! Get there early because a line forms most every day. Large pepperoni and the house salad is my favorite. I live in the neighborhood and feel the staff is always friendly. I always bring our out of town guests here and they are never disappointed. more

UNBELIEVABLE!! 2/9/2011

Let me tell you something; you have not had pizza until you had one from Lombardi's!! more

The Best Pizza anywhere 12/8/2010

As a former New Yorker I have tried pizza in almost all of the 50 states. I tried Lombardi's last year with my son. This is by far the best pizza I have ever had. My son lives in New York and he has gone back just about every week since last year. He always makes it a point to tell me and am I envious you bet I am. I will be going back to New York in January and I will be at Lombardi's as many times as possible. I enjoyed everything about the place. more

Go for the Nostalgia 11/11/2010

Good Pizza! Not worth waiting on a big line though more
