Happy Hour treat... 7/28/2010

I was pleasantly surprised at what they had to offer. My wife and I went there in a spur of the moment hunt for food and came out satisfied. We ordered one of the happy hour combos which had 3 type of appetizers and all were very tasty. The combo plate was $11. Mixed drinks were $6 and several appetizer plates were only $5. For a downtown restaurant I'd say that's pretty good. I recommend it after seeing a movie at the theater on the same floor. Good service. Very friendly staff. more

(BTW, We did not eat anything esle anywhere else that night). We called the restaurant next morning and received an apology. (just an apology, nothing else) more

Great for groups! 10/20/2006

Gordon Biersch surprised me all 3 times I've been there. It has a really wide selection of food, which is great for vegetarians like myself (check out the hummus salad). My husband loved his steak there as well, in addition to the usual burgers etc. It also has quite a bit of seating, so they get you in really fast, even if you have more than 4 people, which is rare for downtown. Add to that great beer, nice servers and proximity to the downtown movie theaters and you've got a winner. more

go for the shopping, stay for the salads 5/29/2006

gordon biersch is definitely my favorite place to get a big, giant salad. you can find their entire lunch menu at http://www.gordonbiersch.com/resources/pdf/GB-SE_Lunch.pdf (what did we do before the web? my gawd). i've never ever been able to finish my favorite salad there - the hummus and goat cheese salad. i once even ordered it without any of the cheeses and i *still* only got about 1/2-way through. it comes with flatbread and you can add chicken and/or salmon for just an extra buck or 2. go ahead, order it. i dare you! more

Good food, great service, I'm pretty sure the beer is good too 4/16/2006

I don't drink, and Alex hates to drink alone. But we went to Gordon Biersch's anyways. Kind of odd, but we are glad we did. The food was excellent. Of course you want to try their famous garlic fries, you won't regret it. I take that back, you may regret it hours later when you realize you still can't get the garlic taste out of your mouth no matter how many times you gargle with Listerine. Our server was funny, and very attentive. He snatched up my drink for a refill the minute I had hit the bottom. And I'm sure the beer is good. I really wouldn't know since none of us drank any, but everyone around us seemed pretty happy. more

A worthwhile happy hour venue 4/14/2006

This restaurant is located at the top of the Pacific Place shopping center. It's a fine place to while away an hour after a long day shopping or while you're waiting for a movie to start at the adjacent theatre. The food is decent - pub grub - and the beer and drinks are good. It is almost always crowded, especially so on the weekends, so expect a wait to get a table. more

Beer and fries 4/9/2006

Oh, the garlic fries. Nothing goes better with the beer here than those dang fries! This is a great place to unwind after a long day of shopping. The restaurant is located on the top floor of Pacific Place. The atmosphere is fun. Huge windows give you a good view out onto the city. The food and service is good. But those fries make a visit to this restaurant worth it! more

Yum! 3/25/2006

I love the pulled pork sandwiches at Gordon Biersch. I also love the potstickers. And the raspberry martinis. And... I'll stop. Trust me, this place is yummy. It's very convenient to grab a drink here before catching a movie at the theatre next door. http://images.judysbook.com/members/star.gif more

Expensive but good all american food 3/9/2006

I have brought my family here and they love it! I would'nt recommend this place for a college student due to the price, however its a great place to take family members when they are in town. My absolute favorite dish is the Salmon and rice. They also have a great cob salad. The margaritas are extremely good and I usually order two to three. Its a great place to get a bite to eat before a movie starts across the way at the Lowe's theater. more

Good food and Great beer 10/3/2005

On the top floor of Pacific Place mall, this brewery is conveniently located next to the AMC theaters. Gordon Biersch brews their own beer. In the winter months I highly recommend the Dunkles; it is dark but smooth, and not too heavy. My buddy and I have visited Gordon Biersch several times and we always have a good experience. The food is sufficient, some dishes excellent. The NY Strip is very good, though a tad pricey, and the burgers are great. The garlic fries are delicious, and they're not overly garlicky. In October they have an Oktoberfest menu featuring German food (if you order the jaegerschnitzel be sure to specify that you want spaetzle with it). They also have a delicious Oktoberfest brew. more
