Emiko is great! She asks you how you style and wear your hair so she can give you a haircut that works uniquely for you. She listens to exactly what you want and is able to translate it into a cut that will look great on you and work with your particular hair type. She understands curly hair (like how to avoid triangle head). She suggests products that would work for you but it doesn't ever seem like she's pressuring you. Best of all, her haircuts are very inexpensive for the quality! more

Consultation before the haircut was exceptionally thorough. Most stylists try to steer me to a short cut. Emiko listened to what I wanted. Recommended inexpensive alternatives for specific problems. Gave me specific,detailed tips for styling my wavy/curly hair easily. Her low-maintenance cut enhanced my curls & kept the length I love. My guy says it's the best cut I've had in years. Glad I found her 12/20/2012

I went in with a picture of what I thought I wanted, and walked out with so much more than a haircut! Emiko gave me tips - general and to style my new hair - and even a suggestion for a you tube to check out, which I did and tried on my own - twice! And she didn't pressure me to buy expensive products or tools, but she has a good selection if you want them. I'm really pleased with her work! more

I've been going to Emiko for hair cuts and color for about a year, and I've never been happier with a stylist. I'm always happy when I walk out the door, and I definitely look way better than when I walked in. In addition to being an extremely skilled stylist, Emiko is warm, friendly, and funny, all excellent traits. I love that I can walk into my appointment with a vague idea of what I want and fully trust Emiko to take it from there. My hair is lucky to have Emiko in its life! more

Glad I called! 10/7/2012

I've read a few other recent reviews and decided to make my own appointment for a haircut with Emiko. The cut turned out great and I really appreciated how she offered tips on hairstyling, products to use, books to read and bookkeepers! I especially loved that I was able to take my 4 year old with me and did not need to take him to daycare on my day off just so I could get a haircut. I'm looking forward to my next appointment with Emiko! more

A stylist who Finally Understands my Hair! 9/7/2012

Have been going to Emiko for about a year and I can honestly say I highly recommend her. She understands the texture of my hair, and is able to cut and style it in a way that I can easily recreate at home. We all know how difficult it is to find a good stylist so I feel really grateful to have found Emiko. Thank you! more

Best Haircut to Date 8/21/2012

I went to Emiko for a basic cut and color, and let me just say this is probably the best haircut I've ever had. I have really curly hair, and Emiko gave me tons of tips on how to control frizz and volume, and recommended some products for me to try. She gave me layers for my first time ever, and they look awesome whether I style my hair curly or straight. The length is fantastic, and I can actually wear my curly hair down and feel great! I found Emiko online and I has read all of the great reviews, so I decided to schedule an appointment for my 3 year old son. He has only had one haircut (as I am very hesitant to trust anyone to cut his hair). He has "Shirley temple" curls. She did such a wonderful job, making both of us feel comfortable. She cut his hair exactly how I wanted. All of our family loves his new haircut. We will definitely go back to her when it is time to cut his hair again. Thanks Emiko! more

Almost a year ago I moved back to Seattle and began my search for a good local haircut. This is not always an easy task for me, but Emiko got it right the first time through and every time since. I cannot recommend her enough for those with curly or non-standard hair types, as long as she cuts hair, she has a customer in me. more

A GREAT cut!! and fantastic prices!!! 4/10/2012

My first visit was great. She did a good cut, took my suggestions, didn't try to sell me on any crazy product and we had great conversation. Comfortable little place. She did cut wet, which always scares curly-haired me, but my husband LOVES the cut so I guess I'm hers for life! Super convenient Shoreline location with AMAZING prices. None of the frills of the big salons, but a great price for exactly what I needed. I'm looking forward to going back!! more

Great price, great haircut 2/20/2012

I've lived in Seattle for over 8 years now and still haven't found a stylist that I like. I think I finally found her! I will definitely be going back to Emiko. My thick, curly hair is bouncy, light and cute! She did everything she could to give me a low-maintenance cut. I told her what I had in mind and then she gave great suggestions and above all, my hair looks great! Not to mention the super reasonable price! more
