I came to Glow for a massage and and had a great overall experience. The salon is so well-done and i was definitely pleased to see that they carried beautiful clothes and jewelry...

I went in a while ago and tried to schedule a haircut. I was planning on walking in, checking out the vibe of the place, seeing if they had a moment for a walk-in, and, if not, s...

AMAZING - Smart Lipo and Laser 3/10/2010

Note: Originally posted my review in March, but today is actually June 1, 2010 and I just had my Smart Lipo done last Wed. (May 26th)...I can't figure out how to post more than one review on CitySearch, so I had to edit my original review. I went to Glow 3 or 4 months ago for laser hair removal and was lucky enough to meet Saima on my first visit. I was blown away by her and her staff and how they made me feel so at ease and comfortable for my first laser treatment. It, by the way, was a piece of cake and I highly recommend it to anyone looking at having it done. During that first visit, I found out about Smart Lipo and didn't think I could ever afford to do something like that, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to meet with Dr. Bukhari. My entire life, I have had a big stomach and have worn clothes two sizes too big so that I could hide it and my dream was always to get some sort of surgery, but I knew I would never be able to afford it. Dr. Bukhari was wonderful! Again, I felt so at ease and instantly knew that if I was ever going to do it, I wanted him to perform the procedure. The Bukhari's are one in a million. They are honest and they truly care about their clients! SO, I DID IT! It is now day 6 and I feel great! Of course, I am a little sore, but the procedure could not have gone better. Dr. Bukhari and Saima made it so relaxing for me and they eased all my fears. I could not be happier!!! If you are considering having this done, don't think twice...you deserve it!!! There are no words to describe how wonderful Dr. Bukhari and Saima are and I promise, they are not paying me to write this review. This is my honest opinion and I can't wait for 3 or 4 months from now when I can go shopping and buy new clothes. I have said it a million times, but again, THANK YOU DR. BUKHARI AND SAIMA...I am more grateful to you than you will ever know! :-) Pros: Wonderful services and staff...5 stars is not enough! Cons: ABSOLUTELY NONE! more

Laser Hair Removal 3/10/2010

I just went in for a laser hair removal appointment after I got this fabulous deal from Groupon. The salon itself is very trendy. The receptionists were very nice. I was expecting to be there at least an hour, and I was in and out in about 20 min. The owner herself did the laser hair removal and was very kind and helpful. I would definitely go back again especially for their other services. Pros: Trendy Salon, Friendly Staff, Quick service Cons: n/a more

Wonderful Experience with SmartLipo 2/21/2010

I a mother and have been struggling with my stomach area for years. I have never been heavy but always had that pooch and "muffin top" that diet and exercise never seemed to help. I went to a very reputable plastic surgeon 2 years ago to get a quote on possibly just getting a tummy tuck. But when i was in the consultation, the doctor also suggested getting some lipo and breast implants! I know he is a reputable doctor but i felt like he was just trying to upsell me more procedures. Nevertheless, i didn't go forward because of costs (over $18,000) and the fear of the recovery and what my incision scar might look like. But i had heard about SmartLipo last year and did a little research on the internet. It definitely peaked my interest because my pooch was still lingering around. I found out through a good friend that Glow Med Spa in Las Colinas was offering SmartLipo so i went in for a consultaion with Dr. Bukhari. He has a very warm personality and made me feel very comfortable, taking time to explain the procedure to me thoroughly. The costs were also very good so this was a major plus. I had my SmartLipo done on my stomach and sides 3 weeks ago and i couldn't be happier. Everything that was explained to me has happened. There were no surprises. I have never been a fan of needles and, although there were moments of discomfort during the surgery, it was very temporary and definitely tolerable. I was back to work after 3 days and everyone noticed the change especially considering the fact that i used to hide under layers of loose shirts and coverups. I am so proud to show off my new figure! I would definitely recommend this procedure to anyone who has struggled to get rid of fat areas that seem to never disappear. Dr. Bukhari and his staff will make you feel so comfortable and relaxed from start to finish. You will wish you had done it sooner!. Thank you Dr. Bukhari and Glow Med Spa!!! Pros: Saw immediate results, very little downtime, great staff Cons: Not a fan of needles.... more

Great nail experience! 10/28/2009

Glow has a new nail tech (Jessica) - who is wonderful. Just returned from a relaxing, fun manicure and pedicure. Careful attention to cleanliness and comfort. A nice combination of cheerful conversation and respectful quiet. She does hair as well. It was marvelous and I'll be back! more

In love with Glow 10/8/2009

Love...Love...Love... I use to go to the little Asian nail salons to get my eye brows waxed because, well...they are cheap! But while living in Austin I decided to try a decently priced upscale nail salon. WOW! What a difference that is! They speak English and it's clean! Yea, pricier but well worth it. So fast forward a year, I'm now living in uptown Dallas and working in Las Colinas. I needed to find a salon in between the two to do my brows. I searched Yelp and a lot of people recommended places that were great but charged $50. Negative! Not for eye brows. So I did some more research and found Glow (aka my saving grace). I set up my appointment and went in for my first visit. The place is ADORABLE! They do hair, nails, waxing, facials, massages, botox. You name it, they do it! So I had a friendly greeting when I walked in and was escorted back to the waxing room by Amy (I think that's her name. God I hope so!). SHE WAS AWESOME! She talked to me the whole time, was down to earth and took her time on my brows. The waxing room was clean, quiet, the bed you lay on is sooo comfy and there is music playing in the background. $20 and a tip later I walked out more than satisfied and I love, love, love the brows! Pros: customer service, clean, fast, just plain adorable Cons: none more

A clean cut experience 10/2/2009

I have been coming to Glow Salon for almost a year now to get my hair cut. I have had nothing but pleasurable experiences here. The staff is always friendly the moment I walk in the door, professional, and all seem well trained on providing the customer with great service. Not to mention my hair looks great when I leave. I would recommend Glow Salon to anyone and will continue to use their services. Pros: Attentive staff, Prompt service, Great hair cut more

Loved my massage..... 10/1/2009

I scheduled a massage with Pablo and loved it! He was very professional and made feel comfortable the entire time even considering the fact that i have never been to a male therapist. I will definitely go back and try some of the other services. Pros: Very pretty. Good menu more

RESPONSE FROM GLOW SALON & MED SPA REGARDING REVIEW BELOW 10/1/2009

Our PCA peels at Glow Medical Spa are low to middle depth level peels. Although some skin types are exceptionally sensitive, None of the peels administered are strong enough to cause cysts, swelling, or "massive sheets of skin" to fall off your face. EBRS, if you indeed had this reaction, why did it take you wait 2 years to complain about it? If a client is dissatisfied in any way, we try to help resolve the problem immediately. Waivers are signed so clients understand what could possibly happen to different skin types. You're not trying to "get back" at the salon? If not then you should have called and spoken with the owner to discuss your issue. You are more than welcome to call the spa at 214 466 1970 so we can look into your history and refund your money once all information is verified. more

I've never bothered with reviews before... 9/24/2009

In response to the review by "txm": I wouldn't know if that review is authentic or not but when I read the review and its response from the salon owner, I felt compelled to tell MY story. I too had an awful experience with a chemical peel there that resulted in severe acne, swelling and a permenant sensitive spot on my forehead where the aesthetician tried to peel away a childhood chicken pox scar. Let me note this peel experience was 2 years ago and the area on my forehead still cannot have any strong chemical lotions (AHA's) - or even sunscreen - on it without stinging. The resulting cysts, sweling and horror of having massive sheets of skin fall off my face made me feel disfigured and ugly. I felt like a complete idiot for having paid someone hundreds of dollars to disfigure my face and ruin my skin. I was only 27 years old and wanted to clear up the hormonal chin breakouts I was getting. Of course I was not going to go back to the salon and ask for a "fix" - I was not only embarrassed to show up looking like I did but I certainly wasn't going to have the same woman touch my face again! What would complaining have gotten me? What was done was done and at the end of the day, it couldn't be fixed. Plus, she had me sign release forms in case anything went wrong - that's when I should have walked out. As with the other "client" review below, the aesthetician also sold me very expensive products after-the-fact to help me heal faster. Although they were very nice products, they were super expensive and unnecessary since it still took three months for my face to heal. The products were used up in no time and I ended up buying a huge bottle of Cetaphil lotion to try to keep my face from falling off in public. The cysts on my face were the worst part of it though because those did not go away for months. It is vain and shallow - I understand that - but I felt truly disgusted with my face after the experience because all I was bothered with before were a few chin pimples. I am not posting this review to "get back" at the salon or for any other reason than to let the owner know the experience "txm" had at her salon might be true and to let her know how devastating an experience it can be. Whether or not the review is authentic, a little compassion might be in order. more

RESPONSE FROM GLOW SALON REGARDING BOGUS REVIEW BELOW 9/15/2009

I am the owner of Glow Salon & Med Spa and I am shocked and disturbed at the nature of this comment. I strongly question the authenticity of this review. At Glow, we strive to provide the best hair and skin care services to our valued clients. In any situation where the client may be dissatisfied, we do our utmost to rectify the problem immediately. First, although there are two trained estheticians, I am the ONLY one who is licensed to administer chemical peels. I make sure all clients are 100% comfortable and let them know what they will be feeling every step of the way. I would NEVER be so unprofessional as to increase the strength of a peel if the client indicated it was causing discomfort! Additionally, I would not sell someone $400 worth of product just for the purpose of the sale especially considering the fact we DO NOT recommend using products on your face after a chemical peel. It should be noted that NO COMPLAINTS have been filed regarding any chemical peels that have been reported to the front desk or to myself this is indeed a real review, i challenge the person who wrote this review to contact me at Glow 214.466.1970 and prove the authenticity of your absurd claim. more

Horrible experience 9/14/2009

I went to Glow salon after moving to Irving to get a facial. The esthetician recommended chemical peel. She started doing the chemical peel and it was very painful. She kept increasing the strength of the peel despite my saying that the peel is hurting me. She then sold me 400 dollars worth of "organic" products to help soothe the chemical peel burns. I broke into horrible acne which left me with more scars than what I started with. Whoever is giving such raving reviews about this place must be working in this place or have some incentive gain from this place. You are better off rubbing you face with dirt than going into this place for a facial. Extremely unfriendly and snobby staff and no one cares when you go and report that you had a problem with the chemical peel. The lady who did the facial in fact tried to sell another product for my worsening acne. Each person who walks into this spa is nothing more than a dollar sign. Save your money, peace of mind and time. Pros: none Cons: staff, attitude more

Pretty Salon with Lots of Services 2/10/2009

I just relocated to Las Colinas and after driving past Glow to and from work, I finally stopped in to see the salon. I was definitely impressed right when i walked in. The decor was very classy and it was very clean. The woman at the front desk was very sweet and polite and answered all my questions while i was looking at the menu. I was surprised to see that they carry Obagi products which i have used in the past. I purchased a gift card for my secretary and am looking forward to coming back for a wonderful service Pros: Beautiful salon. Friendly Staff. Easy to Get to more

GORGEOUS SALON, FRIENDLY STAFF 10/17/2008

I just moved to Dallas and was so happy to find Glow Salon. A friend suggested I try it out... I did.. and loved it! I got the works.. massage, facial and a great makeover with my NEW hair stylist! The woman at the front made sure I was comfortable...chatted with me about my move and even suggested some local restaurants! Now that's customer service! Beautiful, classy salon.. Can't wait to go back! Pros: Staff at front, Holly, Irina, Elva Cons: NONE! more

Totally Loved It! 10/10/2008

So I had to share. I was given a gift card to glow for my birthday. I have gone there before but it has been a long time. I booked the package for a facial, massage and pedicure. Iriene is still the best at facials. I swear she takes years off me. They had a new therapist there named Holly, (I had seen Terah before). This massage was so much better than Terah's. It was much more detailed and I felt great for days. I had a glass of wine and the was off for my pedicure with a young girl. She was sweet, but I don't recall the name. She did my nails and they looked good in the fall color she helped me pick. Overall it was a wonderful day and I left feeling like I had a great birthday gift. more

AVOID THIS PLACE 10/9/2008

I wouldn't recomend this place to anyone. They do have two people who are good with hair cut (as far as I know) but the managment ....OMG.....awful. They truly don't care about customer. I have tried everything in this place. Nails, Massages, Facial .....etc. and hoping I go to this place for all my needs, since is convineatyly located close to my house, but they dont have real professionals. An 18 years old does the nails who has no experience and you walk out of there with paint all over you. That is just an example, most of them seem like they just got out of school (if that). BUT they sure know how to charge you. They charge you just the same as a very high end and professional place, maybe even more. I used to go to Niemen Marcus salon in Dallas and they sure are cheaper. Just avoid this place if youcan.....there are planty other salons who are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than this place. more

No Glowing Reviews 9/22/2008

After spending $300 to be criticized by my stylist, I have no glowing reviews. In fact, my experience was deplorable. I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early, sat in my stylist's chair and when asked what I wanted I said,"Blonde, lighter or darker, than what I have now, it doesn't matter. Just something that will cover up my grey roots." Off in a panic my stylist went and came back and said, "OK, when you call in, you need to do a better job at explaining to the receptionist what you want." I knew I had two hours and scheduled a full color and a cut. I explained this to my stylist, but somehow she thought I wanted lowlights and highlights. I STILL HAVE GREY ROOTS. During my appointment, I was quiet and patient, and even told the stylist that I could just do the color or cut and could even wait between her clients or leave and come back. I said this only because she made me feel as though I was a HUGE inconvience. Annoyed she said "NO" and continued with the lowlights and highlights that I never asked for in the first place. During my appointment my stylist reminded me three times that my appointment was going to cut into her manicure and pedicure she had scheduled two hours after my appointment. So, in the end, I paid $300 to feel worthless. I still have grey roots and platinum blonde highlights and unflattering lowlights that make me look like a 2002 Christina Agulera video. Needless to say, I was pleasant, I gave tips, I even took the upsale for shampoo and conditioner that leaves my hair too oily. I told my stylist that the brand she gave me leaves my hair oily, but it was pushed anyway. 1 for GLOW 0 for me. $300 down the drain!!!!!!!!!! Oh...and i wasn't even asked if I wanted a glass of water or a coffee. But I was told that I didn't make the right appointment and reminded that my presence was an inconvience. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. AND I STILL HAVE GREY HAIR more

great massage 7/18/2008

I must say wow! I had a massage the other day by their massage therapist Holly. She was excellent. She asked me about what types of discomfort and pain I was experiencing before starting the massage. She also asked me what I wanted to work on. This was great. Most therapist just do what they want, but she listened to my needs and followed them. I had a deep tissue which was exactly what I needed sitting at a desk all day and with being a runner. Try her out. The front desk staff is very friendly and made sure I enjoyed my massage. The room was clean and upscale. It is nice to find this kind of place outside of the Dallas traffic. I am going back for another treatment. Pros: none so far Cons: great massage more

Cool, hip salon in the heart of Las Colinas! 7/8/2008

I recently went into Glow to purchase a gift certificate for my wife's birthday. It was nice to see such a clean modern salon in the heart of Las Colinas. The staff was very friendly and helpful in suggesting services my wife might like. She received a facial which she loved! And she has since returned to get hair services there as well. Gentlemen take note: Happy wife = Happy home! So be sure to get your next birthday, anniversary or Mother's day gift from Glow Salon. You will thank me later. Pros: Nice atmosphere, great menu, and super friendly staff. Cons: None yet : ) more

Need A Referral?? Tambrina Klein Is The Best!! 5/13/2008

I moved 1700 miles from the best hair dresser I ever had. I had grown out my hair and was finally happy with it (girls you know what I mean), and I was not ready to trust just anyone with cutting it. I got a referral from my friend who's hair always looks great. Tambrina amazed me. Not only did she take the time for me to tell her exactly what I wanted, but after I mentioned my eyebrow situation, she motivated me and stuck with me over an eight week grow out period! She has an astounding eye for shape and cuts that will compliment your personal facial features. She gives great makeup tips as well. I am a very casual person and she had great advice for everyday as well as a night out. I just got a cut and color today and my husband can't keep his hands off of me! Thank you Tambrina! If you are new ot the area or just need a new hairdresser, no matter your style, Tambrina is the perfect fit. more

Great Facials 5/1/2008

I get a facial at least once a month. I started getting facials by Irina in December 2007, and since then I haven't had any problems with my acne. My skin has changed dramatically, for the better. The atmosphere is relaxing. Not only does she do a great job but she also explains what treatments are necessary and why. She is very knowledgeable and an expert aesthetician. I've recommended her to many of my friends and family. The customer service is excellent and they offer a large variety of services. If your looking for a place to get a great facial or any other services glow and spa is the spot!!! Pros: Service Cons: N/A more
