Review content:
In response to the review by "txm": I wouldn't know if that review is authentic or not but when I read the review and its response from the salon owner, I felt compelled to tell MY story. I too had an awful experience with a chemical peel there that resulted in severe acne, swelling and a permenant sensitive spot on my forehead where the aesthetician tried to peel away a childhood chicken pox scar. Let me note this peel experience was 2 years ago and the area on my forehead still cannot have any strong chemical lotions (AHA's) - or even sunscreen - on it without stinging. The resulting cysts, sweling and horror of having massive sheets of skin fall off my face made me feel disfigured and ugly. I felt like a complete idiot for having paid someone hundreds of dollars to disfigure my face and ruin my skin. I was only 27 years old and wanted to clear up the hormonal chin breakouts I was getting. Of course I was not going to go back to the salon and ask for a "fix" - I was not only embarrassed to show up looking like I did but I certainly wasn't going to have the same woman touch my face again! What would complaining have gotten me? What was done was done and at the end of the day, it couldn't be fixed. Plus, she had me sign release forms in case anything went wrong - that's when I should have walked out. As with the other "client" review below, the aesthetician also sold me very expensive products after-the-fact to help me heal faster. Although they were very nice products, they were super expensive and unnecessary since it still took three months for my face to heal. The products were used up in no time and I ended up buying a huge bottle of Cetaphil lotion to try to keep my face from falling off in public. The cysts on my face were the worst part of it though because those did not go away for months. It is vain and shallow - I understand that - but I felt truly disgusted with my face after the experience because all I was bothered with before were a few chin pimples. I am not posting this review to "get back" at the salon or for any other reason than to let the owner know the experience "txm" had at her salon might be true and to let her know how devastating an experience it can be. Whether or not the review is authentic, a little compassion might be in order.
