Glow Salon & Med Spa

I've been going to Glow since Sept 2011 for laser hair removal (underarms, bikini/brazilian and toes). I am very happy with the results I am seeing after only 4 treatments on my underarms, and 3 on my bikini/brazilian area and toes. Saima and Pamela both do a great job, they are thorough, friendly, courteous and make you feel at ease. I have been able to schedule appointments with ease and reschedule when I've had to cancel without problem. The salon is very nice and clean. The only reason I did not give Glow Salon 5 stars is because I have not had laser hair removal done anywhere else so I do not have anything to compare it to. Also, numbing cream is not provided by Glow, you must get that from your doctor and apparently this is unusual for the salon not to provide it. I recommend Glow and Saima and Pamela for laser hair removal and encourage you to get it done if you've been considering it. They have a great price and they do a great job in my opinion. more

I came to Glow for a massage and and had a great overall experience. The salon is so well-done and i was definitely pleased to see that they carried beautiful clothes and jewelry right when i walked in. The staff was very friendly as well. My massage was with Olga and she listened carefully to what i needed. I would highly recommend her because she was very professional and highly skilled. Before i left i had to buy some jewelry as well....i will definitely be back for nail services and hair and did speak to a stylist about future highlights. more

I went in a while ago and tried to schedule a haircut. I was planning on walking in, checking out the vibe of the place, seeing if they had a moment for a walk-in, and, if not, scheduling an appointment. Unfortunately, I chose to go in on a day of the week when they simply "don't do haircuts", and was told so coldly by the girl working there - when she finally paid attention to me after almost five minutes. She didn't even say a polite "sorry!" or invite me to make an appointment on a different day. It was clear that I was inconveniencing her with my presence, and, after giving me five or six words, she simply walked off. Here's my problem with this: the hair industry is a luxury industry. As such, customer service is extremely important. It's easy for a stylist to gush over someone and their dog's health when they're paying $60 for a haircut and likely to give a good tip, but in my opinion these places show their true colors when they don't stand to gain any money. (Not that she didn't - if she'd treated me nicely I would have made an appointment and come back.) In my book, that's exactly what happened when I went to Glow. more

I had just moved to the Dallas area and wa in need of a trim and color. I searched the internet and found the "Glow" salon. I ended up with a young gal that had very little people experiance as well as lacked customer service values. She as well told me that I should have made my appointment differant. I was in need of a trim and she commented on my bad last cut. She finally trimed and barely trimmed my hair! I was in the Salon for less than 20 minutes and the cost $60.00 and my hair felt and looked no differant that it did when I went in. I have to say I was very dissapointed as I expected very differant results. I did however tip the gal $5.00 as I felt sorry for her. EAH the gal can not even do a good shampoo job let alone cut. I have found a Salon Home as I made an appt. and was very well taken care of this weekend. It was sure not "GLOW" I regret going into that Salon bad era all the way around! more

Glow Salon and MedSpa is both posh and elegant, with a professional top notch staff. Their hair removal services are state of the art and I have had excellent results, and will most definitely continue to utilize the services of the owner, Sama Bukhari, and her knowledgeable staff. In addition to spectacular service, the salon also has a retail area offering the latest in fashions, gift items and my favorite, JEWELRY. more

I just moved to the area and noticed Glow as I was driving down MacArthur. I stopped in due to a desperate need of new haircut and style. They were able to accomidate me immediatly and Brenda was my stylist. She was very professional and funny. She gave me a great trim and blow out. I was also impressed that the salon has a boutique side with cute dresses and jewlery at a great price. I highly recomend Glow and I will be back to see Brenda again. more

I bought a few groupons and have been going to Glow since March of last year. I have been nothing but thrilled with my services there. The staff has always been friendly and the salon is a very clean, relaxing atmosphere. I am very happy with the laser machine that they have and it doesn't seem to hurt as much as the others. I have been doing my underarms and lower legs and do plan on buying more treatments when i'm done since they offer their clients very good pricing on laser. The techs are very thorough and make sure i am comfortable the entire time. It does seem to me that some of the "review"s on this site seem to be advertisements for "other"centers so i would be very skeptical on them. Like i said , i have seen great results and and so have my co-workers and we would all highly recommend Glow for laser. The only negative is i can't resist buying a dress every time i go in! more

Indifferent staff and impossible to schedule as they seem to have run way too many specials. Can't get through on the phone, and when you can, they put you on hold for a very long time - so long I hung up. Underarm laser hair removal was very painful, but the technician didn't much care. I had to ask her a number of times to slow down a bit, so I had a chance to recover. Would not recommend this spa. more

I am very happy with my results with hair removal at Glow. I have had 4 sessions on my underarms and the results so far have been great. Hopefully i will be able to start my legs once the summer is over. I am actually surprised that people have written negative reviews. I've personally never had a problem getting thru on the phone or getting an appointment. The staff have always been friendly and were even nice enough to play with my 5 year old daughter for a few minutes while i was in the back getting my session. Thanks Glow! more

I signed up for laser hair removal, which should be spaced out every 5-6 weeks. However, the salon has run so many specials lately that they can't handle the volume and are now booking be every 2-3 months. I would NOT recommend any services that require regular follow-up because there's no consistency with their scheduling. more

I have been going to Glow for several months and have had 3 treatments in 3 areas so far.. I have appreciated the professionalism that I have been shown, along with the friendly staff. The experience all together, has been a pleasant one. Although, I drive an hour to get to the salon, it has been well worth it!!! more

I have been going to Glow for laser hair treatments for about a year now. I just completed my 5th treatment and I have been quite satisfied with the service and the staff. Saima always makes sure that I am comfortable during the treatments. I purchased the service when they offered a special through Groupon, and I am so glad I did. more

I was afraid to try laser hair removal when my husband bought me a groupon for Glow Medical Spa. I made the appointment so the money would not be wasted. I was so impressed that I bought two more areas. The owner has always been very thourough in explaining what she is doing and how it will feel. I really appreciate that! The spa is beautiful and very relaxing! There are plenty of products to purchase, even jewelry and clothing. When they had to close because of the weather, they were kind enough to open on two Sundays so customers could still get in without having to wait months. I do not know many establishments that would do that to accommodate clients! The prices are also very reasonable. I would pay full price for services at Glow before I would go some other place with a discount! more

I bought a groupon for laser hair removal at Glow Spa for my young sister and our experience with them has been terrible! Not only has the treatment been worthless (very minor reduction in hair growth), the receptionist is the rudest person I've ever spoken with! Considering the fact that she is representing Glow to customers, I'm appalled that she believes she can hang up on customers (yes, she hung up on me when I called to make an appointment for my sister). Anytime my sister went in for a session, they refused to give her an appointment for anytime within the 6-8 week hair regrowth cycle period. As a matter of fact, when she went in for her 4th treatment, they told her the only available appointment date would be 3 months in the future because they were "busy". However, this did not keep them from announcing another groupon deal the next week with "appointments available" for the newer Groupon owners. How unprofessional is that? The receptionist refused to let me speak with the owner (Saima) whom I had to speak with the last time to get an appointment scheduled. I would NOT recommend this place to ANYONE! more

Glow Salon and Med Spa continues to be an amazing experience for me! It took me a long time to find a salon that had a laser hair removal procedure that worked effectively and safely for people of color. I had been turned away from more than 6 salons before I found Glow. Glow offers such a service and the results for me have been AMAZING after just one treatment. But beyond that - my overall experience was top notch. I was pleasantly greeted by the owner, Saima, who took me earlier than my scheduled appointment. The procedure took less than 5 minutes and was relatively painless! I appreciate the professionalism and friendliness of all of the staff members and I have already made appointments to experience some of the other services that Glow has to offer. Thanks to Glow ... Smart Lipo... Best thing I've ever done for myself! My self-confidence has risen dramatically since my smart lipo surgery. Dr. Bukhari took a tremendous amount of time and effort to really hear what I was looking for as a patient. The results are amazing.. I could not be happier! Thank you Dr. Bukhari and Glow Staff... I just had my first laser hair removal session on 4/24/10 and everyone was great. The Spa is beautiful and I really enjoyed meeting my technician. Additionally, Dr. Bukhari was able to work me in for a consult and later he filled the area of my upper lip! I had a lot of little lines and a couple of deep ones. He also plumped my upper lip! His work is just beautiful. I came in as a Groupon client but I will now be a DEVOTED client. Thank you Dr. Bukhari! We will be talking again! Didn't feel like driving to North Dallas where my (now former) hair dresser is - saw this place and decided to pull in. Amazing experience! Leslie did a FABULOUS job on my hair! She listened to everything I said and was on target w/ her work. I will definitely be back! It's so great when a new person does your hair and it turns out good ... it only gets better from here! I had been looking forward to the opportunity to give my daughter the "gift" of laser hair removal. I had it done when I was in my 20s and it did WONDERS for my self confidence. So, I couldn't wait to pass that on to my daughter. Of course, I worried a little about how the experience would be for her, given her age and her low pain threshold. (If anyone would complain that this treatment would hurt... it would be my daughter!) But from the minute we walked through that door, those worries were gone. We were greeted by a beautiful ambiance and an incredibly professional staff who helped us with paperwork and then we were immediately escorted into an intimate, cozy room where the treatment was to be done. I was surprised to find that Saima, the owner, was the one who would be doing the treatment. She was really so exceptional and very engaging with both myself and my daughter and she was very conscientious about asking my daughter if she was comfortable, etc. By the end of the treatment, we had had such a great time, I think my daughter was surprised it was already over and was eager to schedule her next appt. Overall, this experience was just more than I could have expected. So positive, pleasant and professional. For anyone considering this treatment, I cannot recommend this treatment enough!!! And as far as where to have it done? Well, I can simply say that we do NOT live near this location... and there are MANY that offer this service, I'm sure. But we will ABSOLUTELY continue coming to this establishment for these and other services because I value quality and without a doubt... that is what Glow Salon offers! Ok. Let me start off by saying this is my first time using Groupon so I was a little skeptical at first. I had a 10:30 appointment this morning at Glow Salon & Spa and was amazed from the moment that I pulled up at the front door. The place was absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated so I knew right away this was going to be a good experience. I was pleasantly greeted by the owner,Saima, and assistant. I felt a little nervous telling them I was there to have my back lasered to remove unwanted hair. They were very professional and had me fill out some paperwork. Within minutes I was taken back to a private room and given my treatment. Saima was extremely friendly and did the process herself. There were no selling upgrades or high pressure involved. When the process was over, I scheduled another appointment and was on my way. I can honestly say this has been "the best" experience I have ever had! If you are one of the many people that were able to take advantage of the $99 Groupon Deal, you are in for a treat! Guys the women there are all beautiful!
