I have been bringing my pets to this vet for almost five years now and have always thought he was wonderful. He has treated my dogs with care, compassion and gentleness.

Great care, as far as i could tell, but Dr. Bang either didn't communicate well or doesn't like mexicans(like myself). I'm not sure which but we've brought our new puppy in twice now. He seemed careful, intelligent and caring (he met my asian girlfriend and our puppy first). The second time I brought her in and he conveyed a sense of... 'possibly find another vet'. I was confused but not too concerned. We scheduled another appointment and today we took her in again for follow up shots and he said he'd do one of the shots she needs but we'll have to find another vet for any further care and stated that I was (paraphrasing) difficult. more

Heartbroken 7/30/2010

I have gone to Dr. Bang in the past & found his prices very reasonable & I liked the fact that he was one of those doctors that rushed animals into surgery. My cat was everything to me but in her old age she had developed health issues & it was clear that the kind thing would be to let her go, so I made an appointment w/ Dr. Bang. I planned to hold and comfort her as she slipped away. I never expect Doctor Bangs helper to take her from me, but he grabbed her by the scruff of the neck & pulled her head back hard while he clamped down on her paw with his strong hand (she was very thin and had no meat on her tiny paw so the strong pressure he asserted hurt and terrified her. (she had never been handled roughly before). She left this world filled with terror and in pain. The last vision I have of her was her crying out in pain and her eyes wide open in terror, and I will never get that image out of my mind or my dreams. more

horrible vet 4/26/2010

I took my ONE YEAR OLD cat in on a friday who had a blockage and couldn't urinate properly. He told me he needed emergency surgery and it would be $600 which emotionally I agreed to. He did the surgery and the unblocking worked but he told me that i needed to take him home because he couldn't monitor him over the weekend and bring him back on monday. He said his kidneys might come back because he was so young. I took him home and my cat was blocked again almost immediately and suffered all weekend without being able to urinate. My two young kids cried all weekend watching this cat suffer. I called the 24 hour emergency clinic over the weekend because there was no contact number for Dr. Bang and they told me he should have NEVER let me go home with a cat like that because his bladder could burst which would be an excruciating death and that he should have been monitored for a minimum of 3-4 days to make sure he would stay unblocked. They also said that if this had been done, the cat may have survived and his kidneys may have come back because of his young age. I feel very strongly that he was negligent for making the mistake of not telling me its friday and the cat will need constant care all weekend and I am not available so go there in the first place and i believe this mistake cost me my cats life. He should have recommended we take the cat there in the first place instead of taking my money and running. I couldn't afford to have this exact procedure done at the 24 hour clinic for another $1000 (which is what they would charge) when I had already invested $600 with Dr. Bang. When I went to complain early Monday morning he yelled at me while I cried with my dying cat on the table. He is the most rude, selfish, horrible and only out for the money vet I have ever met. The worst ever. I ended up having to take my cat to another vet and put him to sleep. I wouldn't recommend this ""doctor' to my worst enemy. He has no compassion for the animal or the person. He is only in it for the cash. It was a hard and sad lesson for me that I hope nobody ever has to go through. Pros: NONE!!!!! Cons: HORRIBLE VET more

Wish there were more vets like this one!! 6/13/2007

What an honest vet Dr.Bang is. He will tell it like it is. No unnecessary tests to run up your vet bill. He will give you options and then let you decide how much you want to spend. I highly recommend Gentle Care Pet Clinic. Just like the olden days! Ahlea Armstrong, Long Beach Pros: Value/honest Cons: Ambience more

Best vet around!!! 3/30/2006

Absolutely love this place - we've been taking our 2 dogs here for 5 years. Dr. Bang is fantastic - if it wasn't for him, one of our dogs wouldn't be alive today. He saved our rescue pup from kennel cough and other ailments, when other vets would have certainly put him down. Great staff, and the rates are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend Gentle Care for all pet owners! Pros: Inexpensvie, Caring vet more

Quality & Friendly Service. Affordable Price 11/9/2005

After hearing a lot of praises from friends and relative, I decide to take my puppy there for the first time. I called ahead to schedule an appointment. Once I arrived, I waited for no more than a minute or two before seeing the doctor. Dr. Bang and his staffs are super friendly and all my questions were answered (first time puppy owner). The clinic is clean. The visiting fee is very reasonable. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and delivered quality services. Pros: Knowledgeable Staff, Friendly Service, Reasonable Fee more
