The bid was probably at the higher end of the bids that we took, but it was a little more thorough than the others. Also, the office at Gene Johnson was the only office to call me in advance of the person who was going to come out and give me the bid to tell me that he was going to be a little late. Turns out he was just in traffic, and wasn't all that late after all, but no other office called. It was a really pleasant and really nice conversation at the outset. The same is true with the first payment I made. They had a little trouble with it, and I was prepared to drop off the check myself, but they had someone in the area that they sent over to pick it up from me, which made it super easy. The plumber who did the job, Kyle, showed on the early end of on time, and that was every day of the job. He talked me through what he did the previous days, asked me questions about how things were going, and told me about any little hiccups on the job. He always explained everything and helped me through it, and I felt like he did a great job with service. The plumbing looks great. There are no leaks, and the water pressure is wonderful. So far, so good! Another reason I went with Gene Johnson, aside form the general service I got at the outset, is the quality of the work suggested in the bid. The quality was higher than others, and it included suggestions like running the main in to the house, which was a little more expensive, but made so much more sense and was a lot less obtrusive than the other suggestions, some that included tearing many holes in my driveway. Dennis, the guy who gave me the bid, also suggested a water heater set, which was a good idea and much different that what other people suggested. I really thought it was nice that he remained in touch with me through Kyle throughout the process. What ultimately made me go with Gene Johnson was actually talking to another plumber. He was giving us a bid, and over the course he told me a story about an interaction he had had with Gene Johnson Plumbing. His bid came in under them, and he was definitely a top consideration, but his story made me feel so good about Gene Johnson that I had to go with them. That, with everything else, made everything work out real well when dealing with Gene Johnson. Plumbing is expensive, but it will be there a long time, so if the service is not there it can be awful, but that's what Gene Johnson excels in. more

Gene Johnson Plumbing's prices are pretty high. I had to have a new faucet, and I thought it was a little pricey. Other than that, I thought it was good. more

We have had Gene Johnson Plumbing out twice, and both times they were very prompt. They did not keep us waiting for very long, and they did not charge us special rates to get out quickly. They are very efficient and clean up after themselves. They are very neat. They had to do some major digging in our side yard the second time we used them, and they put it back together very nicely. The quality seems very good. This last time their work was inspected by King County, and they passed with flying colors. If I have another plumbing issue, they are the only ones I will call. more

I was satisfied with the work that Gene Johnson Plumbing did. Everything is working alright, and that's about all I can say. As far as plumbing goes, as long as they get it fixed right, it's fine. more

We've used Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating twice and they are always professional and responsive to our calls. The only thing I'd say about them as a caution, is that they seem a bit pricey to me, so maybe get a quote up front. But the service they provide is excellent and the work they do is quality work. I was very happy with my experience with Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating. It was my first time using them, and we were having a problem with our tankless hot water heater. I got an appointment that same day. The two people who came out were very professional, and they assessed the problem quickly. They took care of it. Our hot water heater's fan was on, but the hot water heater was not actually heating the water. It was acting as if the burner was on, but it wasn't actually on; it was creating a vacuum. It was definitely a problem. Gene Johnson Plumbing took a look, and there was a little tube that was clogged and keeping the fan on indefinitely. Once they cleaned it and reset the system it worked as intended. This was my first time using them. Also, in talking to them during that visit I told them how the hot water heater itself does not have the same output as 5 years earlier. We asked Gene Johnson Plumbing about options. We have a hydronic system that heats the house as well as doing the hot water. We had a good healthy discussion, and he educated me on different pieces without the technical jargon. It was just to educate me without an ounce of sale. They are professional, straightforward, and very helpful. more

The truth is that we were not in town when Gene Johnson Plumbing & Heating put in our new furnace. Our daughter dealt with them mostly, and she was happy so I am happy. We have used them before. Our furnace died, so they came and put in a new one for us. It works very well. They were prompt and left the place in good shape. It was neatly done. There was something that someone recommended us to have done, but Gene Johnson let us know that what we had was fine; it would have just been an added expense. They saved us that money. more

I had a water line break and called Gene Johnson for repairs. It took them 2 hours for the repair and they charged me $1,300. They knew that I was desperate to restore service and that I had home owners insurance to cover costs, therefore they took advantage of me. I would never use them again. Very deceptive practices. more

Called Sunday evening about clogged kitchen sink and I was told someone would be at my apartment between 8:30-9:15am. At 8:45am plumber arrived, he took a look at the problem and gave me a fair price before he started the job. He took care of the problem quickly & efficiently. And on top of everything he was such a nice guy! I will always call these guys for any future problem! more

I don't know how much it would cost somewhere else, but we were perfectly satisfied with Gene Johnson Plumbing. They were wonderful to us. We really like Woody, and he was who we dealt with on a one to one basis. We have used them twice. The first time they put in a thermostat for us, and the second time they cleaned our furnace. They came, dug up a hole, and capped a pipe. I talked to the technician for a couple of minutes before he did the job and he was done after about an hour. I had no problems. They did a good job, and they were actually earlier than they said they would be. more

Iâ??ve been using Gene Johnson Plumbing for 4 or 5 years. They come once a year for an annual inspection. They have replaced all of the original hoses and anything else that could potentially cause water damage, which gives me great peace of mind. I am on the second floor of a condominium, so I am worried about water. They are very trustworthy and responsive. more

Gene Johnson Plumbing was recommended to me by a friend. I first used them 1 year ago and then again recently. They have done water heater maintenance and drain cleaning for me.
