The surroundings are perfect for a Sex and the City type girl-fest, however I found the staff to be a bit icy. My manicure also was poorly done and lasted scarcely a couple of day...

Horrible service, filthy spa 7/21/2007

I've been here a few times, either by myself or with groups, and I've decided I am NEVER going back. Parking is horrible and the women at the front desk are incredibly snotty and rude (especially the manager and this dark haired, heavier lady who's been there several years from her account). I've overheard several of them talking about each other, and other clients, behind their backs. Now I know that one of the massage therapists/estheticians has bipolar disorder. Not something even THEY should know, really. The return policy is HORRIBLE, and they don't even have prices marked on half of their goods. If you get to the register and realize something is grossly overpriced and want to put it back, they make you feel like you're cheap and have no money and still pressure you into buying - I'm certain they work on commission, at least some of them. They don't care at all about customer satisfaction. Speaking of products, the whole spa is completely cluttered with useless junk and ugly hair accessories - which is strange because they don't even do hair. The only thing I really enjoyed here wasn't a service, but one of the nail technicians. (I'm not sure if we can name names here, but she's asian and her name starts with an L. She's the only good thing about Frenchy's!!) She is very, very nice and polite and I've always enjoyed coming in to see her. Unfortunately I won't be coming back, though, as the service from the girls at the front and the pedicurists is absolutely awful. Also, the pedicure stations were INCREDIBLY dirty - just covered with other people's nail clippings and filed-off skin flakes. It's filthy. The women talk about you as if you can't hear them, and they even use foot files and tubs and the like that they used on another client. I'm pretty sure this doesn't even meet the health code! To top it all off, the services aren't even priced reasonably. $50 for a dirty, sloppy pedicure? Take your money elsewhere, ladies! · Pros: none, really · Cons: dirty, overpriced, pushy and rude salespeople, gossipy · Overall: NOT RECOMMENDED! more

Seattle's Finest For Beauty and Relaxation!! 11/15/2006

I simply adore Frenchy's. It is minutes from my home and everyone there is polite, fun and creative. The merchandise is a slice of heaven, a little something for everyone. Julie is the best for manicures. I have had French manicures for years with others and she is the most meticulous and they look very natural. Most of the pedicure ladies are great, I tend to jump around because they are all really good and take their time with pride and perfection. Erin or Janetta are excellent ladies for waxing. I love the atmosphere here, very colorful, very girly, it is like a girls club. You rarely see a man in here, so the vibe is very relaxed. Viktoria is THE BEST MASSAGE THERAPIST on the planet. I have been having massages for over two decades and no one comes close to her services. She does deep tissue work for your most stressed and tense areas of your body. She only works on Thursdays, but is worth the wait if you can make a Thursday appointment. The front staff are friendly and always co-ordinated with appointments via phone and in person. Joanne, the manager is the hippest lady on the planet. Cheers! Lisa Rothschild~ more

First Class Service 10/17/2006

Frenchy's is an oasis in the city. The staff is attentive and good at remembering details. Larissa is the best for toes. Jenny is the best for nails. Janetta for waxing. You won't be disappointed. more

Indulgent, girlfriend-y atmosphere 6/29/2006

The surroundings are perfect for a Sex and the City type girl-fest, however I found the staff to be a bit icy. My manicure also was poorly done and lasted scarcely a couple of days (and my work is easy on the hands). It may be that it was just a bad day there. The flowery couches and colors do feel relaxed and they seemed to have a good selection of cosmetics and other beauty products. more

The best facial I have ever had..... 6/29/2006

I have had quite a few facials and a ton of waxing in my day and Camilla at Frenchys is my favorite Esthetician. I used to see her at Caruh salon and spa and have finally found her again. She used to be a massage therapist and so her touch is amazing. She certainly has a passion for skin care and can expertly diagnose what is going on with yours. I am always amazed at how effective the remedies she gives me are. She was even given the title top waxer in Seattle by Allure magazine. For some reason it does not hurt as much when she does it..... I think it might be the placebo effect.... but does it really matter? more

Would have been great, if the mani lasted! 3/20/2006

I got a manicure here and it was a fine experience. Although it's in a very nice location (Madison Park) it had a bit of a chop shop feel to it. Maybe it was the fact that the service was so dang fast, way less than a 1/2 hour. Although I was satisfied with the service, the manicure hardly lasted two days, which just wasn't worth it. I think next time I'll go elsewhere. more

Pricy and portentous but great service and outcome 3/7/2006

Yes, this place is pricey, it is portentous but their service is great, and they pedicures are the best. I highly recommend this place. more

Frenchy's 8/18/2005

For the reputation it has, we weren’t so pleased with the results. Maybe we got a new person. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don’t know. The works wasn’t as good as we would have liked, and the chairs weren’t as comfortable as others. It wasn’t too bad, though. I would go back if someone invited me. more

Great day of fun with the girls 8/16/2005

The spa has an open floor plan great for gatherings or girl's day out. The service is reasonable and the staff are very nice. They also offer a good selection of really cute cards, candles, chocolates, and unique things not found in a regular spa. It makes you feel like you're shopping - while you're at the spa. more

Great Service 8/16/2005

Frenchy's is a full day spa. I have only had manicures and pedicures there, but, they are wonderful. The service is great and the staff is wonderful. I would highly reccomend Frenchy's if you want to be pampered. more

a Frenchy's Fool 8/15/2005

For a girl in need of a nice french pedicure or a relaxing manicure in a cushy little place where you can get in and out without a fuss, this is the place to go. And if you want to go even further, they have massages, facials, and everything else you can dream up to pamper yourself along with every fashion magazine available on this planet. Heck, in the winter at least they were even open on Sunday's. So I recommend skipping church every once in a while and heading to the French Riviera for nails. more

Best pedicure in town! 8/3/2005

The comfy chairs, kind lighting and great pulp-magazines make it comfortable. The pedicurists make it perfect! Sip tea and bask for an hour. Also know that they appear to be more diligent than the average at keeping tools sanitary. It is also a great place to have a girls' get together - invite 2-3 of your girlfriends and you can gossip while you are fussed over. more

frenchy's makes you feel pampered 6/14/2005

frenchy's isn't the cheapest probably (although i don't think it's much more) and it probably isn't the fastest in and out. but the general atmosphere and high quality mani/pedis makes frenchy's my favorite place. the atmosphere is quite madison park, but if you're not into that, don't be put off. for one hour, it's nice! think: well groomed ladies, plush couches and every fashion magazine on earth - it makes you feel pampered. plus the manicurists are very nice and they do good work. sometimes they'll give you free makeup application (so you'll buy, but they don't pressure you). check out the other reviews for frenchy's in judy's book. it's a popular choice. more

Pampered Polish 9/24/2004

A little simple luxury with professional pedicures and manicures is done right by Frenchy's. Sadly, management changes have taken the service down a notch but that is only the front desk. The real service remains great when it comes down to business. Marina knows her toes and Julie knows her fingers. Both can be hard to get in with due to regulars like me who maintain appointments a year out...but they are worth the wait.

For pedicures go all out and get the Barbor. The extended leg and foot massage can take away any level of stress. You will not even remember the extra cost when it is over.

The pedicures are the best in town! 7/16/2004

Yes, these pedicures are pricy but if you are looking for a relaxing time and a great pedicure this is the place. They last for a month. Marina is the person I would recommend. more

special treat 7/9/2004

I love Frenchys, but mostly for the fantastic job Jonetta does on my brows (ask for her - she is the best!). I eschew the mani/pedi services unless I'm treating my best friend to a pre-wedding treat...too pricey after being spoiled by the $12 pedicures in SF. Although they do do a fantastic job... more
