Beware of this travel agency. My husband purchased a very expensive ticket from them to from Tampa to Havana from them. Upon, the request of Flor Caribe, he sent them a copy of his passport a few weeks prior to his trip and there was no indication from this agency that there would be a problem. However, when he arrived at the Tampa airport on his departure date, he was told there was a problem with the stamp on his passport and they changed his return date to 4/3 stating that he would need time to fix the problem or else he would have to remain in Cuba.\r
This situation caused many problems for us. He ran out of his medicine due to the extended time he was in Havana and had to go to the hospital in Havana. He resolved the passport problem in Havana, but then could not get out. He went to the airport every morning to try to get a flight back to the US. Because of this, he needed more money to remain in Havana. This delay also jeopardized his school and job.\r
I emailed Flor Caribe while he was still in Havana and did not get any response or assistance. Then, I called and there was no answer, so I called the other company name on the receipt, Island Travel in Tampa. The woman at Island Travel told me that I would have to speak to Yuni at Flor Caribe. I stated I did not know much Spanish and she assured me that Yuni spoke English, so when I called back, I asked for Yuni and when I began speaking to her, she stated she did not know any English. My original email was written in English and translated, but there was never a response. \r

If Flor Caribe asked for the passport, I assume the intent was to review it and alert the customer of any potential problems. However, in our case, this did not happen. They took the money quick enough for the ticket, but became invisible when we needed their assistance for something that was clearly their fault.
