Simply Well Done 1/10/2003

We had a wonderful night which started with a wonderful dinner. Our waiter was charming and friendly, the food was Outstanding, and overall a fine place to dine. Well done. more

Whats the big deal 1/2/2003

Terrible! Not only was our waiter rude and extremely arrogant, but it took a good hour for our food to arrive at the table. When it finally did arrive, our steaks were practically rare, yet we ordered well done. We had to send it back TWICE in order to get what we asked for. For a "prime steakhouse", it shouldn't take 3 trys to get a steak cooked right. When the manager came over to see how our meal was, we told him how terrible our experience was, and he insisted we have dessert and a bottle of wine, on the house. We initially didnt want dessert, but we accepted. When the bill came, they didnt take the wine and dessert off, and when we tried to confront the manager, he avoided us and then dissappeared all together. more

This is nice 12/22/2002

I've been to Flemming's twice and both times were just awesome. The food and service were good. It's very romantic environment and nice for couples. They have a great wine list too! more

Another Great Option 12/8/2002

We've been to Fleming's twice now over the past 6 months. Each time, the food was excellent, a great wine selection, and both times we were seated within 15-30 minutes of reservation time. It's definitely in the same league as Capital Grill and Morton's for quality of their steaks. It's another good option for a great steak in Boston. Lamb, Porterhouse, and Filet Mignon is excellent. Pros: great steaks, wine selection, knowledgeable staff Cons: limited waiting area, valet recommended more

the best 12/4/2002

Recently on my first trip to Boston, I was with a group that has our reunion at Flemings. Everything was top quality from the food to the service to the ambiance. Pros: Quality of food, Friendly staff Cons: Expensive, Don't bring a car, Closes at 1.00pm more

I hurried to wait and wait and wait! 11/16/2002

Our reservation was for 9 PM, we weren't seated until 9:30 PM and then waited longer for service. Our waiter was too chatty when all we wanted to do was order a drink and look at the menu. It took a while for our water/bread to come and longer for our waiter to come for our drink orders. If the steaks hadn't been so delicious, I wouldn't even think of going back. They were superbly cooked and melted in our mouths. The other side dishes were ok, but the filets are what saved the evening. We had to "wait" to get a dessert menu because the restaurant didn't have enough to go around .... a ridiculous excuse! The only thing that came without a wait was the bill which was, all in all, very reasonable. Pros: Great steak, nice decor, good value Cons: slow service, slow service, food not consistent more

The perfect place you didn't know about 11/14/2002

Fleming's is my absolute favorite restaurant in Boston. I happened upon it quite accidentally about 2 years ago. Now, whenever my boyfriend is in town visiting we always make a point to eat dinner there. Their selection of over 100 bottles of wine by the glass, coupled with delicious food (I think their filet mignon is to die for) and enhanced by the dark red interior design makes it the ideal place for a romantic evening in Boston. It is within walking distance to the Theater District which makes it all the more attractive and easy to have dinner and then see a show. It is the only restaurant I recommend to people visiting Boston! Pros: Delicious food, variety for all taste, extensive wine list Cons: costly but worth it more

Carnivore's Heaven 11/8/2002

Good place for red meat lovers. Huge side portion, baked potatoes swiming in butter, not a place for calorie counters. Yummy! more

A Perfect Evening 10/30/2002

I had one of the best dinners of my life at this place. I was taking my girlfriend out for her birthday and we had a perfect evening. The food was excellent, we had king crab legs as an appetizer, I had the bone in NY Strip and she had a seared Ahi Tuna. The steak was flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the tuna was perfectly prepared and served with an excellent sauce. Our sides of scalloped potatoes with cheddar cheese and sauteed mushrooms completed a superb meal. We hardly had room for the chocolate cake at the end, but we managed to enjoy it nonetheless. Our server (named patrick or something equally Bostonian) was excellent; knowledgable and witty, the atmosphere was soothing and inviting, and they have an unbelievable wine by the glass list. I cannot wait to return to Boston so that I can return to Fleming's. Pros: Atmosphere, Food, Service Cons: Parking, No Smoking at Bar more

overrated!!! 10/13/2002

Evidently, the previous recommendations came from out of state patrons who do not have an understanding of what makes up a quality restaurant. My only complaint other than those listed below, is that I missed the coupon that must have been published in some convention booklet for a two for one special or some type of $$ discount! A very dissapointing experience to say the least Pros: Validated Parking Cons: Value, Food more

Long wait... 10/10/2002

We had a reservation and were seated fairly quickly...that's when the wait began! We arrived at 8:00pm and finally got our food at 9:30. The meat was really good, but the sides were cold and really not that great! more

Unremarkable flavors at inflated prices 10/7/2002

Flemings appears to be a chain restaurant aimed at getting their share of the convention and business market. Located at the Park Plaza hotel, it is obviously catering to the business traveller. I had the petit filet and my partner had the pork chops. The chops had a nice flavor, and both meals were cooked appropriately. My steak was unseasoned and the pepper sauce that I ordered with it added little to the flavor. The meal included no side dishes, which was apparently a ploy to simply mark up the price. We had onion rings which were bland and broccoli, which was served with an equally bland bernaise sauce. The meals (meat only) averaged about $22 a piece and sides added on average, an extra $6 per side. Expect another $6 or so for a salad. Wine averaged closer to $7 per glass. Overall, an expensive and unremarkable meal. Pros: Convienient Location, Courteous Service Cons: Expensive, Bland Flavors more

Homerun! 8/28/2002

Flemmings is a Homerun everytime! If you can't fail for a biz dinner or have friends in the city only once, this is the place to guarantee great food, great service and a great atmosphere. more

Can you say Filet? 8/14/2002

Excellent atmosphere for a very tasty dinner.. I strongly recommend the fried calamari as a killer appetizer....the steaks are thick and juicy and the deserts are especially wonderful Pros: Quiet, Romantic, Affordable more
