One word: Amazing 12/14/2006

\r \r My wife and I first tried Firehouse a few months ago and it has become the standard that everywhere else we go to is compared to! We have yet to find another restaurant that we put as a 10 on the ""firehouse scale.""\r \r We bring people in frequently to entertain and are ALWAYS delighted. Our regular server Will always asks about what spice level each of our guests are looking for. Hot and spicy is their thing, but they'll get it decedant and mild if that's your thing. \r \r The atmosphere is relaxed, warm and inviting with the service, food, and music to match. If all small restaurants put this amount of detail into their service the corporate restaurants would all go under. If you're looking for something different, delicious, and an all around great experience head to Lower Greenville... you'll probably see my wife and myself in there treating ourselves.\r \r J. Kensington Pros: Incredible package, food, service, atmosphere Cons: It's too cold to enjoy the patio more

I come to give my own review and look what I find. 12/6/2006

I feel moved to comment because I was sitting at the table next to the party of four with such serious complaints. Their experience was completely contrary to my own. For one thing, there's free valet parking, so I'm not sure why anyone would feel the need to complain about the parking lot out back.\r \r I did see everyone, including the owner apologize for the slowness in service. He explained to me that because they had a very large party (there was some kind of christmas party in the back) everyone would order at the same time, so the kitchen had to accomodate 40 orders at once, on top of whatever anyone else ordered. Which is not ideal, but understandable. Two of the people in that four-person party seemed fine, but the other two could not have been more belligerent. I could hear them from my table. I also wonder why they got two orders of hummus if they hated it so much. They showed absolutely no class whatsoever.. maybe they were embarassed by the restaurant, but I was embarassed by them. Pros: Smother you with service Cons: Far away from home more

Awful Awful Awful - VERY LONG WAIT, Bad Service, Overpriced, Bad Parking, Very Limited Culinary Talent!!! 12/2/2006

I chose this restaurant for my husband & I and two of our best friends. We couldn't have been more disappointed. My reason for choosing it was due to the excellent reviews posted by others. This restaurant was the absolute worse that we've ever eaten at. It's in a very bad location with cheap bars and pawn shops across the street. Also, parking is atrocious as it's behind the restaurant on a washed out dirt parking lot with broken concrete and very little space. The ad says ""Live Music"" but don't count on it. Only if you consider crappy music blaring out of 1 of 4 speakers placed in each corner of the tiny space- as ""Live Music""- and this was on a saturday night from 8- 10:30. Very bad taste, really..... There were about 40 - 50 people dining and they couldn't accommodate even that few people. We waited 2 hrs for our food and when it finally arrived it was burnt and extremely spicy. None of our party could even finish 1/4th of the meal because it tasted so horrible. For 4 meals and 2 orders of the worse hummus I've ever had (2 appetizers due to the extremely long wait) it came to $150 with the tip. Awful awful awful..... I was embarrassed to take our friends/ professional colleagues there. Don't make the same mistake that I did. Save your money, your time and your reputation and go anywhere else. Really, they should be ashamed. more

The best place to go for dinner! I LOVE IT! 8/7/2006

I planned a surprise party for my boyfriend in Dallas. Since I lived in Houston I did not know where to have the dinner. I found Firehouse on City search and was very impressed with all the recommendations. As soon as I called them I explained to them exactly what I wanted to make the night special and that is exactly what they did. They accommodated all of my needs and not once did I have inconveniences from them. Jordan, the person that took care of my party, was great. He communicated with me for almost 3 months to update me on all changes and menu for my night. Neat less to say, the surprise was PHENOMENAL! The place was beautiful and the food was incredible!!! \r Every one of my guests was impressed with the menu and the food.\r \r I trusted the Firehouse staff 100%. They took great care of us and did an excellent job without any barriers.\r \r Thank you Firehouse! Pros: Food, ambience, service. more

Hell froze over, and Firehouse is back. 4/24/2006

When anyone ever asks my favorite Dallas restaurant, I have to respond, ""my favorite restaurant closed."" I would go on and describe the world's best calamari and my staple dish: pollo enfuego. And now it is back! I really never thought this would happen. I went in for dinner the first night I realized they were back open, and was not disapointed. Much of the menu was new and different, but my two staples were back. The calamari was a little saucier than I remembered... where it was once drizzled, it was now smothered. The flavor was still great, I just think I'll ask them to go light on the sauce next time. Overall it was great. If you can't tell, I'm just excited they are open again. Pros: Calamari, Spicy, Good value more

Back Better Than Ever 4/7/2006

Talk about hitting a grand slam! The atmosphere, food and service are beyond 1st class. Have to have's are the calamari and snapper and any to die for dessert. Any martini is recommended from apple to chocolate. This secret hotspot makes eating out not an experience but an ""event"". Pros: food, food, food more

Bruno is Back!!! 3/18/2006

Once again Bruno has turned dining into a great experience in the lowest Greenville area. The blackened tuna was wonderful and the scalloped potatoes with jalapenos were the best. The atmosphere was eclectic and comfortable. The waitstaff was courteous, prompt and very helpful. Any of the desserts are to die for especially the key lime pie! more

all around wonderful 2/16/2006

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Firehouse. The food was excellent, a variety of options all very creative. The macaroni & cheese was amazing. My husband had the tuna and enjoyed every morsel. I had the chicken pasta w/spicy marinara & lobster cream sause. It was delicious, a very unique flavor. They were very large portions and we were stuffed, and bringing home a to-go plate! Our waiter was very friendly and helpful, the restaurant is cozy and very cool great for dinner then drinks on thier couches in front of the fire. And the key lime pie, to die for! I highly recommend you try this wonderful restaurant! Pros: great ambiance, creative menu more
