I love this restaurant! I have never had bad service and the food has always been top notch. I recommend Firebirds Chicken Pasta. I always have enough left over for another meal! The green beans are amazing, too. If you sign up for their email club they give you good deals on their food as well. Do yourself a favor and try it out! more

Firebirds had extremely bad customer service... I would not recommend anyone to Firebirds. The customer service started and ended with the sub-standard hostess on Sat night, November 23rd. I was looking forward to a nice birthday dinner but left in disgust before I had the chance to sit down. EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED!!!!!!!!! more

Review for Firebirds Grill 2/22/2012

I've been going to Firebirds for years now. It was the sort of place my family and I would go for birthdays or for other special occasions. The food is always well cooked, and very tasty. I have ordered a number of different things on the menu, but my favorite would have to be the shrimp salad. This restaurant is great for both big and small parties of people. It has a nice atmosphere and every experience has been enjoyable for me. The only down side I can find would be the prices- they are rather high, especially for a college student like me. Its a good place to go to every once in a while. I highly recommend going. more

Good Food 12/30/2011

Always too busy, always too loud but because I love the food and live close by I get it to go. I highly reccomend the food even if you must get it to go. more

Nothing Original For The Price 7/1/2011

This place is perfect for Southerners who have never traveled out their comfort zone to try delicious food. If the place is overpriced then it must be good, right? more

Wonderful food service and atmosphere, BUT 7/8/2009

I had a Desert Peach Martini (EXcellent) the Pork Tenderloin and the Pecan green beans. The pork had super flavor! It was smoked then cooked to a dot of pink & the green beans were crisp and very slightly sweet. But. Pros: Food and service Cons: Noise, Noise, Noise more

very good food 5/22/2009

Every food item I've ordered there, I've enjoyed- onion rings, buffalo meatloaf, everything. It's very busy so either get there early or be prepared to wait. Unfortunately, they have a problem with their draft beers (at least Miller Lite, Blue Moon & Sam Adams and Coors Light before they dropped it) - there's some kind of bad taste in each one. Bottled beer is fine. Just don't get the draft beer and you'll enjoy it! Pros: very good food, enjoyed everything I've had there Cons: very busy, draft beer has an odd taste more

Firebirds: Superb Burger...Terrible Fries 1/15/2009

In my opinion, Firebirds has the best burger in Charlotte. Maybe anywhere. But the key phrase is ""in my opinion"". It also makes a difference whether cost is an issue or not. I've read reviews that claim Hardees or Backyard Burgers is the best. Well, for the price, yes they beat something like Wendys or McDonalds, but that's a whole different category. (In which case Five Guys takes that prize!). But without considering cost, I have to say that the cheeseburgers I've had at Firebirds are second to none. I can't make one as good on MY OWN grill. For a start, because they grind their own beef, they don't have to conform to those stupid NC regulations that prohibit you having your burger cooked medium rare. But for whatever reason, the end result is superb, and worth the $8.95 . One negative though...their fries, in my opinion are perhaps the WORST I've had...they're those horrible clunky steak-fries. (I almost feel like going in with my own bag of fries from Five Guys!! ) But anyway, considering the ambience, AND the fact that you can enjoy a beer with your burger, Firebird is definitely the King of burgers in the Queen City. more

Great Food 8/7/2008

I have recently moved here from Kansas City and a friend recommended Firebirds to me and my husband. Love the food and the portions were a perfect size. The atmosphere was very relaxing. How ever the welcoming by the hostess was a little cold and unfriendly. I would recommend Firebirds to my friends and family. Pros: Food Cons: Greeting more

Best steak in town! 2/24/2008

By far the best steak in town! The food is always great and received promptly. The staff are very attentive and helpful at offering suggestions if you can't decide what to order. Spinach artichoke dip is great! more

The best steak you will ever ever in Charlotte!!! 12/30/2007

I have been to this restaurant a few times this last year. While you may have to wait for a table, it is totally worth your time. Once seated, service is great and the food is wonderful and the steak is better than Ruth Chris (I heard, I have no urge to travel farther to Uptown since finding this place). The atmosphere is relaxing and the cocktails are terrific. Pros: Food Cons: the parking, be sure to use the valet service more

One of the Best 4/8/2007

While dining here on a business trip recently I was very impressed. The decor is very nice; it looks like a ski lodge of sorts with the large wood beams and rustic decor. It didn't take long to be seated and although I didn't try the wine, the fillet was wonderful. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection, leaving me wondering if I've had a better steak anywhere else. In fact, my first experience was so good I decided to return a few nights later before leaving town. The second time, I had the surf and turf. Not only was the steak as good as the first time, the lobster tail was mouth watering as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a good steak. Perfect for a nice date or for business. Pros: Ambience, Service, Food Cons: Maybe not for kids more

Great Food, Great Atmosphere 2/21/2007

I went to FIrebirds at North Lake for the first time last week. I am moving to Charlotte in a few months and I will definately be coming back. The steak was delicous and the side dishes were great. The taste of the food was complimented by friendly, accurate service. more

Avoid Friday and Saturday Nights 1/28/2007

On a recent Saturday evening, I had planned to have dinner at Firebird's in Stonecrest. Pros: Good steaks Cons: No resrvation system, ""Call-Ahead Seating"" puts you on a 1-1/2 hour waiting list. Your kids will drive you nuts waiting on a table. more

Lunch - a step up and worth it. 5/11/2006

Stopped-in at the new location at the Northlake Mall for lunch. My wife tried Firebirds Chardonnay and the Chicken Penne; I tried the Red and the French Dip. My wife enjoyed the White although the Red was a little too peppery for my taste but there was a sizeable winelist to choose from. Lunch portions were large with enough of the Penne to bring home for the both of us later (plenty of chicken in the dish), the sauce had a subtle spicey bite to it which was good. The French Dip was enough that I had to pass on the dessert (although I really wanted to try the Creme Brule). The waiters were knowledgeable about the dishes and the chef recommended the proper way to reheat the Penne when we asked. Kids welcomed but probably not the place if they like to run around or be restless. Pros: quick seating, refined dining, leisurely atmosphere more

Great steaks but don't try the Chicken dishes 1/24/2006

If your going for a good steak and don't mind the noise this is one of the best. But if you are a chicken lover stay away. I ordered the chicken casadillas and if there was chicken in them it was microscopic and the cheese they use was like cheese whiz. So I couldn't eat them and asked the waiter if the spicy chiken soup was good and he said yes so I tried it. Again where was the chicken? It tasted just like they scraped the stuff out of the casadillas and put it in a bowl. I was very disapointed I would have to bet the appitizers are baught frozen and heated up. Pros: Good Steaks Cons: BAD Appitizers more
