Best

Stopped here instead of hitting somewhere else I was planning on. Why? Not sure, but the sign caught my eye and I pulled in. Glad I did! I eat a lot of good food at home, in town,...

Worst

Went for dinner on Father's day. Had to wait 1 hour for food after ordering. The waiter did not check back with us or let us know that the kitchen was busy. No water refills, and ...

Not worth the price... 10/27/2008

I set up a lunch event for my co-workers recently at Fin n Bone. We had sixteen people on a slow Monday lunch. Overall, I would say that for how fancy the restaurant is, the service is that of a pub. First of all, I reserved the private room because we were to have a private meeting. We were not put in the room that was requested. The room was vacant and the server told us that they were saving it for the evening. I was pretty disappointed, my boss was expecting a quiet room. Pros: Great Seafood, wine selection Cons: Poor service, poor availibility of common seafood dishes more

Poor service, expensive, food is not fresh. 8/3/2008

I dined at Fin N Bone with a friend a while ago and the customer service was terrible. Our waitress completely ignored us, never refilled our water or drinks because she was busy chatting with some other customers for 20 minutes at a time. I had rice as a side dish and it looked like it had been reheated from before. The food was expensive given it was not that great and you can get a better deal somewhere else. I would definitely not recommend this for special occasions because of the lack of customer service. Pros: Poor customer service, food not fresh. more

What a crummy meal to have eaten on your birthday celebration..... 7/31/2008

What a big disappointment! #1: We are members of the Passport Unlimited and the Fin & Bone does NOT take that card anylonger as of June 1st. #2: The service was slow and we had to flag our server down for more beverages to which she forgot each time even after asking. #3: The appetizer (coconut prawns) were overcooked. #4: Our meals were very small portions for what we paid. #5: They didn't offer the infromation about cooking their salmon medium rare and we had to send it back. Who eats raw fish? Pros: Clean place Cons: Very poor service and food more

OK clam chowder, but crab cakes make Red Lobster look good 6/16/2008

I went to the Fin N Bone hoping I could get great crab cakes. What a disappointment. Out came three heavily battered lumps containing a hint of crab inside. Most of the filling seemed to be some undefined vegetables. The whole thing was tasteless. If you want real crab cakes, go to Baltimore. The clam chowder was much better -- almost as good as clam chowder from Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. Pros: clam chowder Cons: awful crab cakes more

Definetely not worth the $ 12/7/2007

I had lunch there today and WOW spent $30 bucks.....I just want to say that for this type of money I would much rather be eating at el gaucho. Had the filet mignon tid bits which were flavorless, a really good clam chowder for 5.95 (wow) and a raspberry lemonade.....incredible! service was good but men definetely not worth the money.... more

Fantastic dinner entree!!! 2/15/2007

Stopped here instead of hitting somewhere else I was planning on. Why? Not sure, but the sign caught my eye and I pulled in. Glad I did! I eat a lot of good food at home, in town, and on the road. It's pretty hard to impress me. I can not say if every meal they serve is this good, but I can say that the meal I just had was one of my best, and on the shorter list. So if you go in and see parmesaon asiago encrusted halibut cheecks on the menu, my god get it. It is fantastic! For an appetizer I had their calimari with a lemon and garlic sauce on the side which was also very good. Nice selection of beer on tap as well that the bartender Scott did a fine job of pouring for me. Only thing that keeps me from giving a full 10 here is the lack of a very fine scotch or whiskey (hint hint <-- JW blue), but they did have my old standby, Glenfidditch, which kept me happy enough :-) more

Amazing service and clean tasting food 8/16/2006

The service was warm and knowledgable including the chef coming to our table to thank us. I loved how clean tasting the seafood was. It is great to taste the light flavors that are often over seasoned of the seafood. My husbands steak was fantastic with very inventive flavors. The drinks and dessert were great. Also, looks like a nice place for large groups as they have closed off areas just for that purpose. Overall, a fantastic find in the heart of Renton! Pros: Service, space, visual appeal more

What went wrong here? 8/5/2006

Wow, what happened to this place? We went there about 2 months ago and had a great prime rib dinner with great, crisp ceasar salads. Last night we took some friends there for dinner, and everything, except the coffee, was truly substandard. Crab cake appetizer was served unceremoniously on a small saucer, with very little crab and way too much red pepper, grilled halibut and salmon were over cooked and tastless, scallops were undercooked and tasteless. The Caesar salad, which was very good on our first visit, was dreadful and applied in huge amounts on small pieces of limp lettuce. The asparagus was terrible. Our table faced a huge window, which had no blinds, we could only see our dinner companions in silhouette, due to the bright sun background, for the entire meal. more

DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF EATING HERE!!!! 6/25/2006

DO NOT EAT HERE! The owners are fake and horrible and rude to their employees! The menu is the same as Stanley and Seaforts, you're better off going there to eat instead! Don't waste your time on this over priced dump in RENTON, go to a real restaurant in Seattle or Tacoma. Pros: NOTHING Cons: EVERYTHING more

Worst service for a nice restaurant 6/18/2006

Went for dinner on Father's day. Had to wait 1 hour for food after ordering. The waiter did not check back with us or let us know that the kitchen was busy. No water refills, and food was cold when it finally did arrive. We will not be going back. Cons: Very slow service more

Brunch 4/19/2006

Fin N Bone served their very first brunch Easter Sunday. This was not beginner's luck but superbly planned and executed. Fare included fresh fruit, salad greens, pastries galore, Eggs Benedict, salmon, Alaskan king crab legs, chicken, sausage, potatoes, an omelet bar, prime rib, cheeses, waffles, biscuits and gravy, and juice/coffee/tea. Everything was excellently prepared and tasted great! The ambience is open, service friendly and the experience rivals the brunch at Salty's on Alki. Fin N Bone had everything except oysters, but the food they served and the helpful staff in a wonderfully renovated space made for an exquisite dining experience! Pros: Friendly Staff, Plenty of Parking, Great Food Cons: A little far (Renton) more

Fabulous Easter Brunch 4/18/2006

We enjoyed Fin n Bones delicious first annual Easter brunch in a comfortable booth in a cheeful rear dining area. The menu had it all (tender meats, delicious baked goods, mouth watering fresh fruit, omelet bar) and the service left us wanting nothing for our Sunday appetites. Owners Jerry and Yellina Jackson have mastered the touch of superb service that feels like youre dining in their living room. Pros: excellent service, tasteful atmosphere, menu variation more

Impromptu party for 7 great meal 3/19/2006

My husband's birthday was March 18th, he wanted to go out for dinner. We heard of some new places in Renton and found Fin N Bones. With seven of us they had immediate seating, and at the Chef's Table! How exciting to watch the fabulous Chef, with all his energy, and the staff preparing the meals. We found out latter he is also the owner. Our server, Shelley, was great. She had recommendations on everything. My sister-in-law is a vegetarian and the Chef prepared her a dish not on the menu (but it should be) after asking her was she a vegetarian or vegan. That is true service. We all raved about the food. My husband favorite side dish being the mashed potatoes. Everyone was ""trying"" each others dishes. We will be back as there are too many things on the menu we need to try. Pros: Great sevice, Great food, Great Cons: Nothing more

Best Prime Rib in King County!! 3/7/2006

Being rather fussy about my meat, its rare I find a prime rib that measures up which is saying a lot as i frequent places like the Met and Mortons. The prime rib here is far and away worth any price and being far less than the downtown Seattle restaurants and free parking too makes it more than worth it. Do yourself a favor and see what this place has to offer, you'll love it. We went the first week they opened on a whim and have been back repeatedly since. Pros: Prime Rib, Excellent Menu, Solid Service more

The best place to eat in Renton! 2/21/2006

You must go there and try their Filet Mignon Tidbits, they are to die for! The bar is amazing and everyone is so friendly and accommodating. more

Awesome Place and Atmosphere!!! 2/16/2006

Great ambiance; food selection is one the the best. You cannot get a better value and quality of food for the price. The service is excellent and nothing is overlooked. I highly recommend this place for any activity; formal, business, family, romantic, or just lunch. You will not be dissapointed!!! Pros: Quality, Ambiance, Great value more

Well Worth the expense! 2/15/2006

The food is amazing! It isn't often that a restaurant with this level of sophistication still thinks of the children. Their child's menu is just perfect for that little one that you want to feel special with an evening out to a nice restaurant. Helpings of main dishes are generous and have so much flavor. You know the chef takes pride in what he produces. Pros: Great Food, Great Price, classy design Cons: Renton's Parking more

dining excellence 2/15/2006

Fantastic northwest fare. Exciting and interesting menu, something for everyone. First time there I had the NY steak - WOW! Sides were generous, pleasing and tasty NOT ordinary. On a subsequent visit had the jerk rubbed pork chop - Very Very tasty! The sides were perfect with the entre. This menu shows thought, and creativity. The service is second to none, the atmosphere is wonderful. Finally a First Class restaurant in the South end! ***Check out the Chef's kitchen-side table! Pros: Menu, Service, Ambiance Cons: n/a more

A taste of excellence 2/15/2006

Truly a dining experience, a south end option to the SeaStar or Pallisades at a price that brings you back again and again. more

What a find! 2/9/2006

What a nice surprise! The ambiance is modern and fresh, the service is fantastic. I was very impressed and the prices are reasonable for the quality. The experience and food was definately exceptional. This gem is in the heart of Renton, but offers the luxuries of the finest restaurants in Seattle with a Northwest comfort. Although there is a large banquet area, there were few diners, which made this a very romantic and memorable evening. Pros: Amazing Food, Fantastic Service more
