Ferg's is the perfect place to come 2/28/2014

Ferg's is the perfect place to come before a Rays game to enjoy beer and wings and not having to spend the overpriced $$$ at the stadium. First the wings are absolutely awesome! They automatically come with breading but are more than happen to make them naked for you. They are a great size for a great price and do not disappoint. The restaurant makes the ranch and bleu cheese which tastes better than the store bought. I was very surprised that on a busy rays game day the staff was still friendly and as quick as possible and the girls took care of all of my needs. Of course the beer is always cold and you never have a problem finding a place to sit outside. Ferg's has a great sports bar vibe and an awesome place. more

Can we rate less than one star????? 2/19/2012

There was a band playing at Ferg's last night that we wanted to see, so we got a group of friends together to go for dinner and drinks. Each time I've been to Ferg's, I wonder why I'm there since there are SO many great places to eat and hang out in the city.. This time we were on the ""Party Deck."" There were at a minimum 100 people and NO servers. To order food or drinks we had to go to the bar. We also had to clean off our own tables.. Here's a hint for the owner, and this might come as a real shocker... If you have someone actually waiting on patrons you will sell much more in food and drinks. Waiting at the bar for at least 10 minutes for one of the 2 bartenders to get me a drink was a real treat. I felt like I was at taco bell.. Only the food was worse. One of our friends did not want to order the wings since he was violently ill after eating them the last time he was there. My husband and other friend ordered the cuban to share. Both of them were extremely sick all night long. My friend barely made it home before she started getting sick. No one else was sick, so we know the cuban was to blame. I'm surprised this place hasn't been featured in the Dirty Dining segment on the news.. Maybe I'll see if I can help that along. We were seated at the back of the ""Party Deck"" near the kitchen which reeked of nasty oil and garbage. My clothes from last night smell like I worked IN the kitchen. Shame on you, Mark Ferguson! As a successful business person in our community, why would you allow your business to be run so poorly? Gross food that makes people sick, lackluster (probably an overstatement) service, and a dirty atmosphere are the top reasons I will not return. No wonder they keep your credit card at the bar when you open a tab - I would have walked out on my tab in a heartbeat, which I've never done before.. more

TOO LOUD! 2/15/2011

Old, crappy food, dirty and really....do they really need to play the music that loud? I mean I like bands but they play it so loud you can't hear your partner talk! more

TOO HOT! 9/4/2010

Yeah, it's a dump 5/29/2010

I went with some friends, and wanted to leave before we even got inside. Ended up eating outside anyway, but it's really trashy. They set up picnic tables on the railroad tracks! With all the overgrown weeds, the dumpsters reeking, the homeless panhandling, and the heat, it was an experience I don't want to repeat.\r \r I mean really, Ferg makes a ton of money off the Rays games, why can't he put some of that money into some landscaping, or paint, or remodeling the stinky bathrooms. Just takes the money and buys himself an RV. Or starts up a new investment pyramid. Pros: Decent food, not too expensive Cons: Really trashy, run down, it's become just a cash cow more

Where my love for wings began 5/10/2010

I used to play softball on Friday nights at Woodlawn Field on 16th Street with my church's team and we'd go to Ferg's after every game. That's where my teammates introduced me to chicken wings. I ordered the mild wings every time with fries and I never got bored with them. They were great about getting us a big table for our large group (usually 10 people or so) and our servers were always quick and friendly. I also felt pretty safe being right across the street from the St. Pete Police Department. The prices are great too--$15 for food, drink and tip combined. The only downside for me is that it's often crowded during baseball season, because it's so popular. It's the closest restaurant to Tropicana Field; right across the street. Pros: great wings, near Tropicana Field, good prices + service Cons: sometimes too crowded for family dining more

Dirty, old, cramped, yick 1/14/2009

Don't waste your time here. Where the locals go??I DONT THINK SO! It's dirty, the service is so casual it's annoying (I just love when servers call fems ""you guys"" ) The food was poor, cold, kitchen was pure filth! Come here when there's a game or sporting event and you get lousy food, poor service with hundreds of drunked moronic sports fans around you. If that describes you, you'll loveit. Pros: I cant think of one Cons: Everything else more

Hands down the Best Sports Bar in the Tampa Bay Area!!!!! 1/1/2009

If you like any sports this is the place to go. You can't go 5 feet without seeing a big screen TV. The food and service is excellent . Great place for meeting people. This is an eclectic atmosphere. Their boneless chicken wings are excellent as with all the other food. Good choices of beer on draft and in bottles. This is where the locals go to hang out have a good time and watch their favorite sports, see old friends and make new friends. Pros: It is the best sports bar in the Tampa Bay area Cons: non more

PREP COOKS DONT WEAR GLOVES AND HANDLE ALL FOOD!!! 9/19/2008

Avoid this place like the plague, I made the mistake of sitting at the bar with a clear shot of the OPEN kitchen, the prep cook palmed almost EVERY ingredient of my Cobb Salad, so disgusting. He would wipe his hands on a filthy rag that hung from tucked inside his shorts. He grab his dirty drink glass, scratch his face, touch other people and fondle just about everything that came out of that kitchen. And what kills me is it didnt occur to him ONCE that he might want to either was his hands, wear some gloves or maybe just not touch everyone's food. Isnt it a Health code to wear gloves as a prep cook? Im gonna check. DO NOT EAT HERE. If you think Im blowing this out of proportion, go sit at the bar where you can CLEARLY see the prep line....unreal. Cons: PREP COOKS DIRTY HANDS PALM ALL THE FOOD GOING OUT OF THAT KITCHEN!!! more

A Dump 7/30/2008

this place is not only ugly but it is dirty. The food is not bad at all but I don't like sharing it with roaches.Look at the outside,it is just as ugly inside more

Ferg's is great, DJ is not. 7/3/2008

Great outdoor space, good drinks, and near stadium. My only problem with Ferg's is when they have DJ Fresh and his group throw events. Terrible music and atmosphere then. more

Nasty 3/12/2008

Not a good place at all, dirty, bad food. Far better places than this!! I can't believe these are peoples favorite wings!! more
