Lets be honest, its not easy to get authentic Taiwanese food...that is good mind you, around the Northwest. The price, however, reflects the demand but other than that it's got a great atmosphere to go along with great overall food. more

Our family has been going there since they first opened. Always impressed with the quality ingredients they invest into the food and the environment is clean and neat. Owners have put a lot of heart and soul into ensuring great taste with quality and healthy materials. We have recommended many friends and families and no one has been disappointed so far. Terrible service, the manager let several teenagers cut in front of the line when several parties have been waiting nearly an hour. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had, the people who run it are obviously discriminating. The food is OK at best, you could get the same at many other locations - definitely not food you would wait an hour for let alone 10 minutes. Pros: cheap Cons: everything more

It all started well until I was ready to order my food. The moment I ordered my food, everything begins to go wrong. When I began to order my food, I was pressured by the waiter to order the most expensive and biggest dishes on the menu. And when I refused to be hustled into a money binge, the waiters attitude quickly became hostile. The waiters kept coming by the table and commenting that my food is not enough, thereby creating a pressured enviornment. After finishing my meal, the waiter angrily chucked me the bill and ignore my demand for water. When I went to the counter to pay my bill, the waiter told me that I needed a $20.00 minimum in order to use my card. That surprised me because an individual rarely spend above 20 dollars just to have a quick lunch. Later I realized that they have $20 minimum in order to pressure the customer while dodging taxes. Seeing this type of service, I refused to give tips. Shockingly, the waiter literally chased me to my car and demanded tips. Like robbers, these waiters stalks and threatens you for tips, even outside the resturant. If you don't want to be pressured and humiliated like an unpaying customer, do not go to this resturant. The actions that the waiters commited is unprecedentedly shocking and forceful! After eating at this resturant, you will feel like you have just been robbed at knifepoint by money-hungry thieves, at least that was what I felt! Pros: Some foods are ok. I have mix feelings about this place. It took us three attempts to successfully try the food at Facing East. Do not attempt to go there around 7:30pm-8:00pm especially on weekends as you will most likely guaranteed to be turned away by the host, they promptly close at 8pm, no more seating and definitely no more food served. Do not go there expecting late lunch or early dinner as they are closed from 3-5pm daily. So I suppose third time was the charm. By walking into the restaurant I already felt like I was back home in Taiwan, familiar smell of food and the familiar dialect spoken by the patrons eating there. The space is relatively small, they seem to have utilized as much of the available space as possible. Reading the menu was a truly exciting experience in itself, they?ve included a good majority of the common street vendor foods found in Taiwan. Some of my personal favorites are the minced pork sauce over rice and the squid potage rice noodles. I don?t really care much for the oyster pancake, that dish has much to improve on. Much of the food on the menu are really affordable, but beware of the special dishes off the menu. Special dishes means special price so ask for the price on specialties prior to placing your order. Customer service is also inconsistent and seems to be fluctuate by the mood of the waiters. I?ve experienced really good to so bad that left me not want to go back for a long time to come. With that noted, it?s really a buyers beware type of experience. Pros: Food Cons: Service, Size of the restaurant, long wait more
