My family has been a patient of Dr. Lai for several years. I highly recommend him. We always received great care and find that Dr. Lai and his staff are a great group of people that care about their patients in a warm, caring and professional way. My Eye Exam 11/28/2011

I broke my glasses and needed a fast appointment. They were able to get me in and the staff was very friendly. The pricing of their frames were very reasonable. Dr. Lai was great. more

Love this place! 11/20/2011

Dr. Lai and Dr. Ho are always super friendly and act as if we're family. Had an appointment for Saturday, and it was super duper busy. However, I was on time to my appointment and as a yearly regular, the front desk people actually recognized me! One of the girls let me know that she checked me in. Within a couple minutes, I was warmly welcomed by Dr. Ho. My appointment was finished thoroughly, and I will always keep coming! more

On Time Relaxing and informative 11/15/2011

This is the second time I went to Eyeworks of San Mateo. The first time with Dr Lai and this time with Dr Ho. I had a pleasant experience with them both. Dr Ho was very informative, upbeat and answered all my questions. I also appreciate that I picked out my glasses in record time with the help of Gary. Everything went smoothly and the there was no waiting for my appointment. Thanks to everyone at Eyeworks! more

Why I keep coming back 11/13/2011

I've been seeing Dr. Lai since I was a teenager. In fact, he's seen most of my family. Even though I've lived in Silicon Valley for the past several years, I still come back to see Dr. Lai, because he is a great doctor and his staff is wonderful as well. Everyone is so nice and helpful. They also have a great selection of glasses and sunglasses. more

Always amazing Service and Eyeworks! 11/10/2011

Dr Lai and the gang at Eyeworks of San Mateo are fabulous! I went in to pick up some contacts I order months ago... but what I really needed was a full exam. Voila! They just happened to have a cancellation and fit me right into their busy day. I have my contacts, my eyesight got better and I have a sweet new pair of prodesign glasses on the way. Wonderful Service and Professionalism 11/10/2011

I just had the greatest experience I have ever had at an optometry business. I am over 50 years old and have worn glasses for 42 years, so I have seen a LOT of optometric places. Dr. Lai and his staff were incredibly thorough and kind, explained everything, never forced anything and really made me feel comfortable and happy with my exam and choice of glasses. Then, to find out how reasonable the price was, I was simply stunned. I was ready to shout!! I have a new permanent eye doctor after going several years just shopping around. I highly recommend EyeWorks and their entire staff. more

Eye check and new glasses 11/4/2011

As always, I was seen promptly, and Dr. Lai was thorough and pleasant during his examination. I have never gotten the impression that he needed to rush on to see the next patient. When it came time to replace my glasses for ones with progressive lenses, the on-site optician was excellent, helpful in finding just the right frames, explaining the charges, and apologizing that the glasses might take more than 2 weeks. Prompt, pleasant, and very efficient. Always a pleasure. more

Dr. Lai and team have been taking care of my vision for several years now. They are the best team I've ever had. Dr. Lai takes the time to do a very thorough examination, to ask about your health in general (because vision problems may be a consequence of other health problems), and so on. I come all the way from San Jose just to see Dr.Lai and team, and I'd fly across the US if I had to :-) more

Dr. Lai has a great office set up with the latest equipment. He really seems to enjoy his work & gives gret advice about options for varius glasses and contacts. He also carries the latest innovations in contacts 7 reflective coatings. All-in-all, Eyeworks is excellent! more
